dude, savory + sweet is amazing.
The idea of bacon and syrup weirded me out for a bit until you said that, and then I was like, 'heeeeeey I should try that'.
If you ever have Moroccan food they are very into savory+sweet, and it's delicious.

Pancakes with bacon, eggs, fried tomato and maple syrup is a family favourite! There's also a pancake chain here which offers it. I just assumed it would be standard in Canada/the US, so I'm surprised you thought you were the only one, kitsy. xd
@chessie - Does that mean you've been sleep eating for a long time, if your body is so used to eating in the middle of the night already? o.O

Its true that we're maple syrup fanatics here, and people off do have bacon with their pancakes, but they tend to spend a lot of time working to keep their bacon -out- of their syrup. In the case of the rest of my family, they wont eat bits of bacon with syrup on them. Crazy people.

hey chessie do you eat bacon and maple syrup ? mish does but i kinda find that abit weird well, we are mennonite, so we did pick up that habit from them although they mostly put syrup on scrapple which is low grade pork scraps ground up with salt and corn mush and then fried

shells_of_sand Kav_of_sand gah ... sounds so yuck ! gonk What would you know! You can't even eat bacon! xd i believe in food rules, eg. orange + milk. one of them is not to combine savory and sweet, especially maple syrup. That stuff is just sweet as sweet can be.
