Ever since his siblings and he had escaped the Facility, Hyun Ki had been subjected to many new things. It was overwhelming, but also thrilling. The male kit enjoyed experiencing new things, so long as they were fun. His stay in the Facility was anything, but enjoyable. Though Hyun Ki had not been tested on, the vague memories of other felines as they were experimented on, yowling and whimpering in pain still lingered in the back of his mind.
Innocently buried deep in the forest, far away from prying human eyes, Hyun Ki lazily pounced after a fluttering butterfly. The imagery was unsettling, but he was still a child. He would come to terms with it soon enough.
Insect and feline mingled together, one chasing the other in a mindless, twirling dance. Hyun Ki determinedly prepared his hind legs and leapt, successfully clawing down the butterfly. He victoriously grinned; however, after finding no other satisfaction he set it free, watching it float away with his heterochromatic eyes, a gift from his father, he liked to think.
Now alone, he let his tail curl around his legs as he stood there, gaze focused on the fading dot that was the butterfly. It didn’t feel quite right without his mother. He furiously shook his head and decided to hunt on a grasshopper minding its own business. Pounce. Jump. Pounce. Jump.

Hiyori had been walking around the forest for a while now. Today she had seen a dead bug up close and had been fascinated by it. The way it looked and the way that it had moved till it broke. She then set about looking around to watch live bugs and see what they did and how they moved. She had drawn a picture of a grass hopper and a worm. A lady bug and now she was chasing an unwilling butterfly through the trees trying to draw it. "Come back here please! I just want to see you!" She said with a grunt as she stumbled over some roots and rocks trying to get after the bug. She looked around as she caught her self and saw a young male. "Oh hello there. Following bugs today too?" She asked with a smile as she fixed her glass's.

Hyun Ki had been completely immersed in his game of hunter and prey. He imagined himself to be a large, predatory feline like a lion or tiger. The grasshopper was a loping antelope and he crawled through the tall, yellow grasses toward his target. Heterochromatic eyes slyly gleamed as he trained his focus on the insect and unaware of the muffled shouts echoing in the distance.
He inched a spotted paw forward before pushing all his strength into his back legs to leap towards the green bug. However, a low hiss and the rustle of trees startled the tiny insect and it jumped away, escaping its untimely demise.
Growling, narrowed eyes hatefully watched the insect hop away before focusing his attention on the new arrival. At least he’d have some company to interest him now. “Not much else to do at the moment,” he replied with a smirk, eying the drawing materials in her arms. “So, an artist. Hm?”

Hiyori smiled at him and blushed a little looking at her journal as she closed it softly. "Oh no not really." she said as she looked at his eyes and smiled. She had never seen eyes like that before. "Were you hunting something? Were you having fun? I'm sorry to interrupt you." she asked with a smile as she looked around for the grasshopper that had gotten away. She opened her journal again and made a note about the new male that she had found and what color his eyes were. She smiled as she closed it again and looked at him. "My name is Hiyori, whats your name?" she asked with a smile as she smoothed out her shirt.

Noticing how her cheeks burned a soft pink, Hyun Ki grinned and his eyes crinkled, twinkling with amusement. What was she so embarrassed about? The kitten casually combed back a few stray bangs, but to no avail. They stubbornly came back to partially obscure his sight, snippets of golden yellow and ocean blue peering from behind the strands.
He slowly walked his way over toward her, sauntering and casually peering at the cover of the journal. “Really? That’s a shame. I was really interested in the sketches and pictures that you might’ve had in there,” he remarked as she cracked open her journal to hastily scribbling in something. He curiously leaned forward, but the book was snapped shut before he could discern the letters.
He shrugged. “It was nothing more than a game to pass time. Now that I have a pretty girl like you here to talk to me, there’s no need for a silly thing like that,” he teased, grinning. “I’m Hyun Ki, by the way.”

Hiyori smiled at the kitten "Nice to meet you HyunKi." She looked at her journal and blushed and nodded a little. "Kinda...If you promise not to laugh at them i'll show you a few sketches i did today." she said as she looked at him. "Do you live nearby here?" she asked looking around the trees with a smile. She pushed her hair back and played with the edge of her journal as she watched him. "We can go for a walk and look for more bugs if you like." She said happily. "I like exploring and finding new bugs to draw." she said with a smile.

A grin lit up his face as he took a step closer, eager to see the pages hidden inside the journal. Were all the pages filled with drawings and sketches? Or perhaps they were occasionally scribbled upon with words? Spilling out the thoughts and feelings of its writer, revealing their innermost emotions, what an interesting thing to discover!
Hyun Ki laughed and shook his head. “Me? Laugh at your sketches? Don’t be silly. I can barely draw a stick figure,” he reassured. “Oh, yes! My dad leads the group around here. The Ruins?” he answered while his gaze was locked on the book, slyly smiling at her innocent suggestion. “I hope you’re not purposely trying to make me forget about wanting to look inside your journal,” he said in a teasing voice.
