Does "Little House on the Prarie" count?
It was origionally a series of books, but in time, a long time ago, it aired on television. Some of the story can be sad, other times it is heartwarming. And no, I'm not an old geezer, I'm actually a 15-year old girl who had only books and DVDs as a child (long story short, I had no cable for about 8 years). Wonderful days, those were... wonderful days.
