The tailor shop had been in a small lull once the excitement of Hatching passed by again, and Kita was finding himself with a bit more free time to spend with his three firelizards in shop. Something that at least that lazy brown pile of scales was glad for. Kita however found no respite from the other two flits that made his shop home. Lately the small treat basket by his door had been getting emptied much quicker than usual. At first he'd suspected the small green, but Thell's interest was for the shiny objects rather than food most of the time. So that just left the little blue who was currently digging through a pile of dyed fabric scraps.

"Rami, what have you hidden in there this time?" A happy chirp is the only answer as Kita walks over to lift a few pieces of cloth off of the flit. Moments later an even happier scree sounds and the flit goes between to who knows where, a colorful cloth held tightly in his claws. "Not again. Just where is he taking those scraps to?" He doesn't get any answer from either o the other flits, and just decides to figure it out some other time. if ever.

Off away from the tailor shop, Rami emerges from between with the cloth still held like a trophy, and gives a very triumphant little trumpet. Prize in claw, he flies off to find the big green dragon he could share it with.

For now it didn't really matter what they brought to her, it was the thought that counted. For now. Once they were used to brining her whatever they thought was pretty, she could start hinting at things she thought were pretty... mind you, the little piece of cloth was pretty, and could actually be used for something which was more than she could say for the pebbles some of her fans kept bringing to her.

Kannaroth crooned a greeting to the blue fitt, and informed him how lovely the piece of cloth was; he was so good at bringing cloth. Could he please put it in the big basket with the other pretty pieces, and would he like some meat? Hers had a big bag of dried meat that he would be happy to share.

The basket Rami had been pointed towards was not currently empty; at the mention of food two heads popped up, one pale blue, one bronze. One spotting Rami, Charming and Lawrence also said their hellos; they did like this friend, he brought lovely soft things to go in their bed, they were more than happy to share food with him!

Out on the ledge, Y'kar looked up from oiling his rising straps as he finally became aware of the exchange going on inside and smiled slightly; the cloth flitt again. Presumably he belonged to a tailor... tailor. He really needed to get himself some new clothes, and having just sold a couple of Treasure's eggs (the gold on his shoulder cheeped happily as he thought of her) he had the marks for it, for the first time since... since ever. It would be nice to own something that didn't like like a tuber sack.

"Of course," he said aloud, "I'd love to share some meat with you; all of you." Had to keep your own troops sweet, of course. "Where do you come from all the time, little blue?" he went on, sending a feeling of question to the firelizard. "Where's your home?" This place was his home - he pictured the weyr they stood in - where was blue's home?

Rami gives another loud chirp, puffing his chest out as he's obviously proud of himself and the praises from the big green. She liked his gift! The pretty fabrics were always good. He loops once in the air before heading towards the basket, creening at the pair of flits that greeted him.

He cheerfully drops the fabric right onto their heads before perching and giving another trill, as if laughing at the little stunt. And the offer of food. Food was always good. The treats he was always swiping from the basket in the shop were nice but they were always the same kind, and Kita was starting to grow wise for where they were vanishing to and putting fewer out for him to get into.

The questioning perks his interest and he tilts his head to the side, peering over at Y'kar curiously. A good few seconds pass before images, scattered ones of piles of cloth and work tables, are sent in return, along with a happy chirp as a couple images of his companion flits are also sent over. The green and brown sent with feelings of warm and very happy.

Ah, so he was right, a tailor's pet. Not very well trained by said tailor, but that worked just fine for him. Smiling at the little blue, Y'kar took the pouch of dried meat from his bet and opened it, taking out a piece to offer to him before tossing a couple of bits over at Lawrence and Charming. He than fetched out a piece for Treasure, and quietly praised her for being good and waiting her turn.

"I'd like to meet these other friends of yours," he said to the tailor's blue after a moment, picturing the pictures of the flitt friends he had been sent. "And your home-place, I'd like to see that," he pictured that picture, and rose to his feet. "Could you show us?"

Kannaroth, unsure if her lifemate had managed to get the message across, reiterated it in a somewhat more flitt friendly fashion; more vivid pictures, and feelings rather than words. It would make Hers happy to do this, and making Hers happy made her happy. The little blue made her happy all the time of course, she loved to see him, but she would be even more pleased with him if he could do this for Hers... What would make her even happier would be to meet the other flitts herself, after Hers had seen them and the place where the pretty cloth came from of course.

The treat is very gladly accepted, along with another happy chirp from Rami. At the images presented, the little blue tilts his head to one side, then to the other. But the re-sending from the big green that he liked and that liked his presents settles the want in his mind and he gives a bob of the head.

Fanning his wings out he chirps again, sending the rushed images of his green and brown friends back and a bolt of cloth, before taking flight out of the room through the doorway. A few seconds after that he's reeling back into the doorway again with another loud chirp. He sends a big picture of the hallway, then the front of the tailor shop and a strong, as strong as the currently-scatterbrained flit can manage, feeling of follow! Thell liked to follow when he sent things like that, the big green's person should know it too.

Y'kar dropped his harnesses onto the bed before grabbing his second set (which wasn't currently in pieces for cleaning) and quickly slipped it onto Kannaroth. This done, the pair set off after the little cloth bringing flitt, each pondering how to snare the blue's friends as minions as well. At the enterance to the Weyr, Y'kar climbed back to the ground and continued to follow the blue on foot. Treasure, still perched on his shoulder, gave a cheerful cheep; she was going to make new friends soon! The Rider ought to give them some treats too, so long as their person didn't mind.

It wasn't long before they arrived outside what had to be the tailor's shop, it looked just like the image the blue had given him, and Y'kar carefully schooled his face into pleasant curiosity, mingled with a touch of uncertainty because he was so used to people hating him for being one of those green riders unkindness was all he expected. If the resident tailor pitied him, he might just get a better price on... whatever it was he decided to buy. Some simple but attractive things; nothing that would make him stand out too much, but something nice all the same.

As he pondered new clothes, Treasure squeaked again. If he got new things to put on, maybe she and the others could have his old clothes for the bed? That would be nice!

For all his part the blue flit seemed to treat leading the big green and Hers following him as a sort of game, chirruping every few seconds back in their direction just to make sure he was being followed. Of course the big green could follow him, she was good at those things!

For all purposes the tailor shop is rather quiet. Until the blue flit squeaks his return through the open door, at least. An answering chirp from the other side of the workshop first, followed by a clatter of needles and cutting instruments falling to the floor join the arrival of a very excited little green, who heads straight for the new person and his Gold with a happy squeak. Images of cloth nests and shiny needles bombard both of the pair as Thell sends feelings of happy and Play? to the Gold.

The firelizard chatter, and more of his poor things being thrown around to the floor earn Kita's attention and he slips out of a small storeroom. "Thell what did you knock over, oh. I didn't realize someone came in, how can I help you?" Rami chirping at him from the table he'd landed on earns a nod. "Rami led you here then? Oh, I hope he didn't snatch anything of yours, he likes to hide things. Not as badly as Thell but. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm Kita, you are?"

He takes his eyes off of the rider for just a moment, scanning his shop. Rami perched on a table, Thell flitting around hoping to engage his guest's Gold.. now where was Kut. "You didn't happen to see a little brown anywhere when you came in, did you?" Most likely he was sleeping in another bundle of cloth, the lazy thing.

Treasure was more than happy to play with them all, so long as it was alright with the rider?... Yes, he said it was fine; what games could they play? Hiding? Chasing? She was happy to do anything so long as she could be with her new friends!

Y'kar smiled as Treasure lofted off his shoulder to flutter around with the other firelizards; good girl, make friends and influence people... Ah, and here was the tailor. "Hi there, I'm Y'kar," no need to add that he was one of hte terrible trio if he wasn't asked, "nice to meet you. Rami's his name? He's no trouble, he just likes to come and see us to be friendly I think... I didn't see a brown I'm afraid," the scrawny rider cast around thoughtfully, "but I could help you look if you need to find him; I'm done with all my work for the day." Helping out might get him a discount so it was definitely worth the effort; time was something he had plenty to spare of today, but he was not keen to be so free with the marks he had made selling eggs.

Thell gives a rather happy squeak when the Gold leaves her perch, and dives after one of the fallen needles. She had to share one of the shiny things before they played, then they could play with the shinies!

Kita spares one more glance at the firelizards and shakes his head at the loss of another needle. But Thell sounded, and certainly felt very happy, so he really couldn't be upset with her about it. Now hearing his guest's name, he grins lightly. "So you are a rider then? Congratulations. I'm afraid I can't really keep track of when the new riders happen around here, the Hatchings seem to come through so quickly sometimes." A nod, and small look of thoughtfulness for a second as he scans the shop again.

"If you would, I wouldn't turn down the help. Kut finds the oddest places to nap in here. The last time he vanished on me it was in the pocket of a rider's vest I was working on. I can't say the man was pleased to have Kut along when he came to pick it up." But it was amusing. The lazy flit for his part had only given a chirp at them both before scurrying off to find somewhere else to finish his nap in the shop before the man could raise his voice. "If you'd like, there is a little basket of dried meats by the door as well. I don't usually get customers in with their flits, your Gold is welcome to a snack when she's finished playing with Thell."

Oooh! Pretty!... Was it the sort of pretty the Big Green would like? Maybe; she'd see if she could get one, she'd ask the others but not now, it was time to play now! Squeaking cheerfully, Treasure followed after Thell for some fun.

"Thanks," Y'kar grinned, and allowed himself to visibly realx; this person didn't know he had one of the bag greens. He wasn't ashamed of course bit was nice not to be judged for once. "I'd be happy to," he went on with a nod, "I know how they tend to get everywhere; I have three of my own right now, but even though they're trouble I'm always looking out for more. They're just so sweet and pretty, and my dragon loves them..." A look of caution now, just in case the tailor knew about Kannaroth's love for flitts and tied them together through that.

Across their mental link, he felt Kannaroth give a snort of amusement; she still didn't see why he bothered with his games, but she had to admit it was quite funny seeing the difference between his actions and his true thoughts. Internally Y'kar smirked; well he was glad she liked it because he was never going to stop... unless she really wanted him to, but he knew that she didn't.

"Where should I start then?" Y'kar asked after a moment, casting around uncertainly. "Just on one side of the room or something?"

Thell lets the needle drop onto a pile of cloth and chirps back at the Gold, and Rami who is flitting after them, to play a game with it. Maybe they could catch it before it hit the ground, and drop it again?

Kita looks thoughtful for a moment, scanning the piles of cloth on various benches. "Well, he's fond of making nests in the cloth. Leathers he isn't as fond of so that wall along the back I don't think he'd go to. But I never know with him." He glances at the rider again for a moment. "It's a good thing your dragon likes the flits then. I've heard of a few riders who have them, and their partners aren't very happy with sharing. I think it's a little silly myself, firelizards are good company and they're certainly not a threat to anyone's dragon." Nor could they be, the little creatures were far too playful, or lazy, to be much of a threat to anything but a shiny object or scrap of food that isn't watched close enough.

"If you see anything that looks like it would be a nest.. that would be a good place to look. Though Kut seems rather fond of the blue fabrics for his own nesting, for whatever reason." Well, it at least made him easier to spot. Usually.

Well that sounded like a good game to her; the smaller flitts could show her how quick they were! She was always impressed by how quick greens and blues were. Cheeping, Treasure dived to recover the needle before fluttering up into the air and letting it fall; quick!

Blue fabric. Sort of nest-like. Right. Y'kar nodded to the tailor and began to poke around the shop carefully. "I'm glad she likes them," he said after a moment, "glad they like her too; makes it easier to get more!... Not that I'm going to be a crazy flitt man before I'm twenty or anything," he commented with a rueful grin.

Humm. Now. He should make nice and try to get to know the tailor, shouldn't he? "So... Have you lived at the Weyr long, Kita? I'm sure I've seen you around the place the last couple of turns at least."

A happy scree and Thell dives for the needle, wings tucked into her sides. Rami comes up from behind to race her to get to it first.

The flits liked her.. now that made him wonder just a bit. "Could you describe your dragon? Rami sends me several images of a green dragon he seems to be very fond of, and I'm just curious if she may be your partner. I don't mind at all, but it would be nice to know where he vanishes to sometimes." If it was visiting a dragon then, well, he was staying out of trouble and that was perfectly fine.

Lifting a bundle of cloth up carefully, he shakes his head as it doesn't turn up the lazy brown flit. "Hm? Oh, I've been here a few turns. I don't really keep track of it though I guess. But the last two turns, I've definitely been here that long, yes. Not getting much work done thanks to Thell over there. She was a handful to try and train, and then Rami turned up. They don't get into too much trouble though so I don't mind if they're a little untrained as some others around here think. Thell just likes to hide my needles in her nests, but I find them again. No harm done with that. Rami though does like to let some of my cloth scraps vanish. Wherever he's taking them off to I haven't a clue."
