Paokoli - A sea-side town, filled with the more notorious living, such as pirates and other such squabble. They are not as afraid of the dead, but are superstitious of them, and easily come to worship them as charms.
/
Location: Paokoli
The largest sea-side town besides Priyal. Paokoli, however, is not as trade-centralized but a more laid-back, self-sustaining town. It is often frequented by vagabonds, however they generally leave the townsfolk alone. However, there is one gruff gang of Wyrm who periodically go through the town and cause havoc.

User Image Angel watched as waves crashed against the shoreline. The sun was setting and her Flaming locks gave of a warm glow. They danced about her horns and made shadows jump. People made quiet murmurs behind her as the humans scuttled home. She wasn't visible but the glow from her hair often was. They humans didn't fear her glow because it was a light glow. She closed her eyes and peacefully listened to the water. She sat on a railing by a small dock. It had a personal boat tied up t it. Usually there were two boats but one fisherman had yet to row himself to the little dock.

A little girl walked to down to where the missing boat should be. She held a stuffed bear delicately in her arms as tears ran down her cheeks. A woman rushed past Angel and caused her hair to crackle. "Come on dear we must get home." The woman said to the crying little girl. The child remained mute as she cried. The woman tugged at the childs arm and the clid shook her head. The woman scowled and picked the child up. The child screamed and flailed in the womans arms. "No I must say good bye to papa. Leave me here to say good bye." The woman glared at the child "Your papa is not dead his is just late." The tears ran quicker down the childs cheeks as she vehemently shook her head "No Papa is gone. I know he is." The girl began to beat at the woman and dropped her teddy bear but the woman just carried the struggling child along. The child spotted Angel and stilled. Her eyes grew wide and she quieted.

Unaware of the child, the gathering night, or the flame touched spirit, Nagalan spiraled through the water. Not really aware of where he had just been or where he was going, the pull of the waves and current on his muscled tail filled him with delight. Strong muscles propelled him through the water and his scales fairly shone with a deep purple, reflecting the last of the sun's rays through the ocean's depths.

Snagging a fish that was a bit too slow, Nagalan munched happily as he rose to the surface. Floating near the shore, he enjoyed the fresh snack. Much like an otter, he rode the waves, tail long on the water as he looked out towards the setting sun. What more could he want, he surely couldn't remember wanting anything more, after all, here, he was free.

Angel watched the child in return with a steady gaze. She smiled softly and the child grinned. "You'll say good bye to papa." The child said with confidence. Angel stretched her wings out creating a small breeze to whip at the woman's skirt. The woman cursed quietly but hurried along taking the child with her. Angel sighed and drifted down to the dock where the teddy bear lay. He was torn in places his straw filling poked out of little holes. Angel knew someone who could fix it. Angel looked about for something to put the bear in and then someone screamed and came running down the docks. The teddy bear was still hovering above the ground visible to the humans but something else held there attention Angel still holding the bear flew up in the breezeless air with some effort to see what everyone was screaming about now, without being run over.

The sight Angel saw was one she knew was to come. A child is so much smarter then an adult when it comes to knowing such things. A boat was being towed into port. A horrid smell wafted in from it. It was one of the ships from the main port city. They normally didn't show up here but what caused the commotion was that the best know fisherman's boat was beat up. There was bite marks and claw marks raked over it. His boat was the boat the child had been waiting for. Something bad had happened and he was no where to be seen... A plank clanked against the dock as the men on board the city boat came off. They carried with them something that looked twisted and very bloody. Angel drifted closer and saw what was left of the good captain. The child had know this would happen. She was to say good bye for her.

(Sorry I wanted to finish that little story that I started XP)

((not a problem))

Nagalan, startled by the scream, dropped the last of his fish and was swamped by a wave as he attemted to turn towards the docks. Taking a moment to right himself, he again surfaced. The ravaged vessel was on the other side of the docks and moared boats, and Nagalan didn't see it. He did, however, notice the rather bright flaming hair above him attached to a green winged being holding a bedraggled toy bear.

'Well, that's right strange,' he thought, as he tried to figure out the purpose the other could have with the bear. Snagging something that brushed past his tail, Nagalan called up, "Oy man, what'cha'doin?" and took a bite of his catch. Only to sputter and spit it out as the expected fish turned out to only be a clump of seaweed.

Angel was still not surprised by the sight of the man. She heard something call out but it didn't come from the crowd of people below. She looked around till she saw the source of the call. It was a snake like water creature. He looked odd but angel would not judge him for that. She was just not use to his hair style. She held up her hand in acknowledgment. She had to say good bye to the man prior to his spirit passing to wander the earth. She'd give him the closure the child knew he needed. Angel drifted down to the body and a few people gasped. They didn't see her but the light that glowed from her hair. She passed the child's goodbye unto the corpse. She could see no change but the child had know that he'd need that goodbye and Angel had just been the vessel for the message.

Angel still holding the now invisible bear to the human eye labored higher away from the body of the man to go back to where the creature before had been. Once Angel spotted him she neared him but dared not get to close to the water. She wouldn't die if she got wet but if her wings were submerged in water she'd likely go under. If her hair got drenched she'd look odd and she'd be basically helpless. "I believe you were talking to me, am I correct?" Angel eyed the water wearily and then looked back to who she'd come to see.

As Angel flew away, Nagalan looked to see where she went and what she did, but as she dipped below the edge of the dock Nagalan lost sight of her and didn't bother to move to follow what she was doing. Dipping back under for another fish, this time making sure of his catch, Nagalan waited, unsure if the other was planning to return, but having nothing else he'd rather be doing.

As the flaming female returned, Nagalan looked over his catch, not as large as he could get further out to sea, but well fed from the detritus on the docks.

Turning to face Angel as she spoke to him, Nagalan nods, "Ay, cha. Ya of'en fly flooff-baers abou'?" As Nagalan waits for an answer, he starts to bite into his fish. With it half way to his mouth, he realizes he should share and holds it out to her, "Wan' sum?"

Angel cocked her head at his words. He was speaking with a different accent that she hadn't quite heard before. She chew over his words a bit before she thought she knew what he was talking about. Her wings beat at a steady pace keeping her roughly the same distance away from the water only getting close to it when a wave should come by and raise the water. She looked down at the bear she held in her arm before looking back to the sea creature. "Are you talking about the teddy bear I'm holding?" She watched as he began to eat his fish. When he offered her some she shook her head. "No thank you. I am not much of a fish eater." She nodded and rubbed her scaly claws togther. "But thank you for the offer."

(Lawl I think I got what he was says with Flooff-baers but it took a bit XDD)

With a nod and a shrug, Nagalan takes a bite out of the fish before answering, "Cha, ye takin it from a wee one or ye jus havn' one o yer own? Fer wee ones aught no be having their bits taken as'n it'll give'm the sorrows." Another bite of fish goes down before he continues, "Less'n I miss aught an at bit o floof be more'n a dauble."

Nagalan starts to take another bite but decides against it, there being little left to the small catch and the taste not being quite as appealing as he had hoped. Tossing the fish over his shoulder back into the waters, "Twern't worth'o share'n tha one, but there's some as is good right fillin." He shrugs slightly, dipping under a rolling wave as he does so. When he resurfaces, he's a few feet closer to the shore and seems to decide it might as well be a destination. With what seems a lazy afterthought, Nagalan uses his tail to slowly propel himself towards the sandy beach, keeping his head above water and generally facing Angel.

((I have no idea what that accent is - it's some mix of southern, scottish and rasta I think - but it seems to be his voice for now - I get the feeling that he's not quite as unlettered as he's leting on - though he's keeping coy with me on that one))

Always shoot for the Moon...

Angel looked down at him and contemplated answering his questions. What was the bear of concern to him... then he went on with a child being sad if it was taken. 'Well at least he's not cruel.' Angel edged a little closer tempted to answer as he munched down his fish. "If you must know I found it on the docks." Angel held the bear slightly closer she'd be careful not to lose the bear. She had seen the child drop it and planned on returning it but she felt no need to include him in her plan.

Angel then watched as he tossed the fish over his shoulder. Shortly after he ducked under the water and the next she saw him he was closer to the shore. He seemed to watch her as he was some how propelled toward the shore. She was unsure how he was doing it. His general gaze compelled Angel to remain in conversation with her so she propelled herself with a sort of ease toward the shore. There was a breeze that made her flight effortless.

Nagalan shrugs again, it seems he can't quite manage to shrug and keep his head above water. Reaching shallow water, he contemplates just resting there, but it seems the flying fiery other was adverse to the water, so he finished moving to the beach to be polite. The sand actually felt good on the scales of his tail, the abrasion helping to clean them.

"So, ye likes o the floof, s'ok den. Is not as a must, jes a passin fancy." Just realizing how dark it was getting, having missed it with his companion's flaming head above him, Nagalan glances about. Normally he'd make his way to a cave to sleep, but he'd allowed the waves to carry him to unfamiliar waters and wasn't certain of a safe place nearby. Deciding it didn't matter at the moment, his attention returns to Angel.

"Cha havin aught ye be doin or ye jus a wander like me? Is no a must either, is just a wonder." Nagalan was picking up on the other's prickly nature, but it didn't bother him as long as there was civility and conversation. "Oh, an I be called Nagalan by most." He shrugs, and seems to expect to be swept under water for a moment before realizing he's on the land.

Angel eyed the sky the night was coming on. She'd be more likely to find someone she knew in the evening and night hours. She eyed him wearily, he seemed to be kind enough. Not very mean or such. Angel was careful not to get close to others and to remain aloof unless she was given a reason for it to be otherwise. "I just felt compelled to sit by the docks." Angel nodded softly. Storm had disappeared earlier and Angel had sought out the docks to keep herself occupied. At the mentioning of what most called him angel felt a small urge to giggle, but fought such an urge and succeed in only smiling. "Well if most call you Nagalan then what do others call you?"

(XDD I liked the way he put that.)

Nagalan shrugs, "Depens on the other. Som as no so much I'd repeat, som as varied on Nagalan, som as 'ey you'." He smiles slightly, with another shrug.

"If'n your as still compelled like, I can leave ya 'lone or keep ya compny." Nagalan seems to shrug alot and does so again as he waits for a response.

(lol - he's striving for honest)

Always shoot for the Moon...

Angel nodded "I guess I could understand that." Angel used her free hand to rub her arm. She was unsure what she would do if he left. Things could become boring. Angel mimicked his shrug. "I don't mind the company."

With that Angel lowered herself to the ground. "I guess since you have provided me with your name it should only be fair that I provide you with Mine. I am Angel." As her feet touched the ground she dipped her head and tucked her wings back. They were still visable but would not catch a breeze and cause her to rise in this way.

An eyebrow quirks up, "Tis a lofty name, Lady Angel. Pleased it is ta be meetin cha." Noting that she's settled, "Ye needin aught fer yer evenin? I'm no sure wha's round bout cept fish, but if ye're needin, I can seek." He looks a bit lost, as though he expected her to send him away and is now trying to figure out what happens next.

Angel shrugged softly "Well It is a pleasure to have met you as well." Angel looked about at the empty beach "No there is nothing I need. I was brought here in search of companionship because my Best friends disappeared." Sadly shakes her head. "However thank you for offering."
