I'm really not sure how I knew, but I knew my element was fire. I think it's just the element you feel closest too or something like that. sweatdrop Like I'm sort of a pyro and I love just staring at the fire, maybe setting a small piece of paper on fire in a safe container. ^-^ So, I sorta put two and two together. 3nodding

Earth element- and I wish I could tell you how you figure it out but honestly its just a connection felt.

Ok you can figure out what your element is by many different ways. Most people when they ask you what your element is referring to the element that corresponds with your sun sign. It can also be an element that is apart of your totem. I think for the most part you will relate to those element a lot. Also with your astrological sign, if your sun sign element does not fit in with you, or does not feel right, I would look at the other planets and the moon that also affect people. If you add up the numbers of repeating elements then you can see which one occurs more often and that could be your element. It does not have to be the same element as your sun sign. Also remember in a horoscope the sun and the moon sign are weighed twice. For an example of this: my sun sign is Sagittarius, it is a fire sign. In my horoscope weighing all the planets and everything fire is the most common element. Also my animal totem is Owl. The owl is apart of the Hawk clan, which is also fire. In the Chinese and Japanese zodiac I was born in the year of the tiger. If you studied that zodiac then you know that each year is split up in to different elements. As you can probably guess I am the fire element in that too. Knowing what element you are is good for learning more about yourself, but remember to remain balanced in all your elements and work and get to know each of then. You can create imbalance by just concentrating on one of them more then the others.

Ideally, one should be attuned to each element equally! So you should feel good if you aren't inexplicably drawn to one element all the time! That can cause problems for a lot of us! razz

Same here. I've always felt a strong connection to wind, but I'm fully aware that I should really be attuned to all of them to get the best out of my Wiccan life.

Another very insightful way of considering your element:

In your dreams, what element appears the most? And I mean, almost consistently from dream to dream.

Me? Water. 100 frickin percent water (dream wise).

However, my astrological sign gives me the element Earth (when I calculate the planets, too, its actually almost perfectly balanced between all four). My ascencion gives me Earth as well (Capricorn and Virgo, respectively, btw). So sometimes, I speculate that perhaps I may be in harmony with Water and Earth, as even in dreams, I have never had a dream where I was in the middle of the ocean. I always passed from water to the ground, and vice-versa.

i don't know what my element is. i have never felt that much of a connection to water, or air, but i always look to the earth for comfort. i don't feel it's really me, though, just something outside of me that i love. i am transfixed by fire, it's probably the one i relate to the most, but whenever i come in contact with it i am scared out of my wits. i am terrified of fire, can barely light a match without my hand shaking. i've pretty much always been irrationally scared of fire, and it's not like i have a horrible memory of something burning or anything i just am scared of it no matter how much i try not to be. i love watching fire, though, as long as i'm a safe distance from it.

My element is definetly fire... not only does it go to my sign... I dream about fire a lot. I actually have nightmares about fire, but it is still my element so I must like it....

Also I was wanting to know what you do if you are afraid of an element?
I'm afraid of water, not like a shower or like a drink, but I'm afraid of bodies of water and swimming pools, and I think it affects my ability to use water too much....

i dream of fire in a different way then the traditional fire. I dream of fire as the emotion, passion, wildness. I associate animals a lot with fire because fire is associated with the south and the south with the God and the God is the ruler of animals... I know some might think it is a stretch but that is how I view it. Also some animals I also associate with other elements like bird with air, but some birds like and owl for instance I associate that with death and reincarnation not with air.... it gets confusing I guess what I am trying to say is that everything for me is interconnected, and as much as I have a bond with Djin, I also have a bond with the other elements.

Honestly, i have no idea what my element is. My astroligy sign is Virgo, and chinese zodiac is Dragon, but i dont know what either of those represent in elements.
Thinking about it, i could have a reason for any of them. I am absolutley fascinated with fire. The fact that it is there, and you can feel its heat, but you can never actually touch it makes it so appealing to me. To me fire somewhat represents rebirth, as in the pheonix that is reborn from its own ashes. But yet i love water. Water is one of the things your body could never ever live without. Water represents purity, cleansing, and second chances to me. It runs continuosly but never truly changes, its cycle goes on forever. Wind and earth i cant think of as many reasons though. I've always loved the feel of the wind, and the life it spreads. And earth, nature itself is the mother of all things.
I am fascinated with all these things, for so many different reasons, but yet i dont see that as enough to make one my element.
Wow, i just took alot of space ^_^; sorry.
