As much as she adored spending time with the cubs, as it had been a long time since their first four daughters had been so small, she was still glad to get out and into the sun again to enjoy the weather. Dry, hot, yes, but still the fresh air was a good feeling.

The children were bigger now, and it was hard to believe that all thirteen had come from her, to imagine how much bigger they'd get still!

The sand marked female headed away from the statues that lined the pat to the temple, looking about to see adult pride members at their leisure, some performing their tasks, but the atmosphere felt relaxed. It was just like being back among the Unity Walkers again, though their numbers had never been this large in her days there, nor had there been AS many cubs, but she remembered her siblings and their youth well enough, fondly. She couldn't help but wonder how they were doing, like the siblings that had gone to leave before her departure. There was an influx of new members almost weekly it seemed.

((Feel free to use Nukta or Meilin to bring him into the pride lands if you want, Pach, otherwise I can send her towards the outer area too!))

Nitesh had decided that, without a doubt, he loved the sun. Certainly he had even in his youth, but there was something still so pleasant about seeing it out in an expanse without the foliage to devour it. Though even he, with his pale eyes, could only look on at it for so long before he needed to tend to something else.

Such as beginning lessons, which he'd taken a certain shine to (though being a large lion amongst the cubs was something very special to see), but even after that, he'd just found a shade-y spot to sit in and watch. Watch the interactions, watch the children.

Oh there was something so nice about seeing little ones all over the place. Perhaps that would do him some good.

But still, he couldn't help but think of his home, well, his childhood home. Maybe he just missed familiarity.

He'd just have to wait on this place to grow on him. If he waited, the familiarity would come with time.

Oh, familiarity would come alright. Just as she was about to head to her favorite spot in the garden lake (The flowers and the trees around it offered the best shade and aromas, for sure, and the water was always cool compared to the heat of the day.) she was stopped by one of the hunters-- her cousin, Kucha'kunge --with some interesting news. One of the new members had yet to be greeted by Muroki, Matifu, or Johari. It was entirely possible with so many cubs and so much going on, and indeed there was a lot.

Everything on Johari's plate was dropped though, in that instant she heard the name and description (To help her locate him.). Nitesh, a "brown fellow with pale eyes like father's (Kucha's, of course!)", was waiting (Well, not really, but now was as good a time as any) to be met with, and could be found by the garden. The queen's eyes lit up much like a cub who had just been told that they could spend the next week doing whatever they pleased.

"Nitesh is here??"

The irony of Kucha'kunge (A direct cousin of she and Nitesh) greeting her brother was momentarily lost on her, as she was immediately too excited with the news to process this fact, let alone stick around. She called back a hasty thank you as she made for the lake where Kucha had directed her.

It didn't take long to spot his familiar coat, how long had it been, two years? Three? Johari beamed as she drew close enough to see him, after rounding off the temple path.

"Nitesh! It is you!"

((He's totally going to get "bowled over" with sisterly kisses if he doesn't say anything to stop her. XD))

He, for a moment, hadn't even noticed the lioness who had come to greet him while he sat in the shade, though the movement out of the corner of his eyes soon did draw his attention, turning the male's head t-

!!!!?

Unlike his beaming sister, Nitesh actually looked utterly surprised at first glance to see who was approaching him, even looking away for a moment before looking back again, as though doubting his eyes were showing him who it was he was actually seeing there in front of him! Which.. he was, actually. Of all the coincidences, he had NOT been expecting that one by any means.

Not to say it was bad.

No, no amount of time would have prevented him from recognizing THIS lioness, immediately rising to his paws to greet her.

"I would be surprised if I was anybody but myself, Johari." he returned in a sort of playful banter, approaching his sister to offer her a light headbump against the shoulder.

Him?

Know sisterly affections were impending?

Not a chance!

The shoulder butt was just enough to slow her just a bit, but afterwards Johari pulled off the best hug a lion possibly could, licking his face with excited said sisterly-affections, purring.

"You dork." She shot back with a grin, pulling back to settle on all fours again, but nuzzled him once more in a calmer greeting. "I wish they'd told me as soon as you got here! How long has it been? You've come to join us?"

So many questions at once! She usually only got this hyper around Muroki these days, though she had broken out of her shy childhood shell shortly after leaving home with he and the others, but this was still rare behavior for her so openly. Her eyes danced as she stepped back to take a proper appraisal of her brother, just like any slightly concerned sister would, making sure he looked well fed.

"Uncle Matifu will be so excited to know you're here! I'M so excited to know you're here!" She laughed softly, quieting at last, though, to let him breathe answer.

Gah! GAAHH! SMOTHERING! SMOTHERING WITH AFFECTIONS!

Certainly, Nitesh had been assaulted with 'OMGILU' before (though then by his daughters, as opposed to a sibling or any other female), but he hadn't exactly been expecting he'd be roped into such a display of it, managing a laugh amongst it all, even before he was released from it.

It was nice, at the very least.

"It's only been a few days since I came into the lands at the most, so you haven't missed me by much." he chuckled back, before continuing on to answer, appropriately, "Yes, I'm even more sure now that I've seen you that I want to stay."

Not that he wouldn't have liked to see his parents, but it was easier to make the permanent step into this new place knowing his sister was here, of all coincidences.

He liked this once.

"Uncle Matifu is here as well? It seems there's just family all over the place!"

Ha ha. Oh, he didn't even KNOW how much 'family' he'd just walked into (or even if he'd be smothered with 'UNCLE NITEESSHHHH's once word got around.)

"Then I'm glad I haven't missed out on much of your time." Johari grinned softly, very much pleased to see a direct relative, sibling, a litter mate no less. If she never missed anything else from home she had always missed the rest of her family, but then, she was accustomed to family coming and going with older siblings who tended to travel to other lands. "He is, in fact, that was our cousin, his son, Kucha'kunge that brought you into the lands. Knowing him he never even thought to mention it."

She chuckled, having quieted down from her outburst, back to a volume that suited her better.

Johari took a seat next to him, for the moment settling in just to talk. She could certainly take time out of her agenda to catch up with her brother, couldn't she? Not that anyone was demanding she work nonstop of course, but normally she'd feel bad if she spent too much time dilly dallying, but this was an exception she'd make for herself at any time. Family.

"Oh, you have no idea." She laughed softly, grinning after. "Let's see... Kucha was part of a litter of three, he and his wife are expecting... Muroki and I have four daughters from our first litter, all well grown by now and around here somewhere... and our last litter of thirteen is almost old enough to start seeing the boys chest tufts growing in." To illustrate she reached up a sand tipped paw to brush at her chest, lowering it again. "I imagine they'll be delighted to meet one of their uncles."

The smile was soft this time, and she wanted to give him a chance to absorb all this, but-- she was so curious too.

"Have you been well, Nitesh?"
PostPosted: Sat Mar 06, 2010 1:06 pm

"Thirteen?"

Nitesh seemed to be in utter shock at this news. Certainly he was aware that big litters could be big, but that big? Goodness!

"Well, I hope when I do meet them, they don't all decide to pile on Uncle Nitesh. I certainly could handle some climbing, but I think that many may be inclined to squish me." he noted with a chuckle. Yeah, he certainly wouldn't mind having that many kids harass him in the long run.

Even if they weren't his.

However, he did sort of turn on his head when his state of being was asked about, hesitating a bit, before he finally answered her;

"I've had some spells of bad luck I need to work through. I also have four children of my own; two sons and two daughters. They've all gone on their ways to pave their own paths in life though."

Not that it didn't make him lonely then and again.

"Though with my luck, Rosencrantz will pine for me and come out here to look for me after she's decided she doesn't like being on her own, so it may be worth keeping an eye out for that." he confessed, chuckling afterwards.

"But, I can still be happy here, I should think. Lots of family."

((So sorry this took so ridiculously long. @__@; *fails*))

"That was very much my reaction when our high priest told us his vision." Johari laughed at her brother's response, recalling that night briefly when Takasika had come to them in a flurry of formalities and his own shock. She quickly dismissed it again for another time though, paying attention to him, and frowning softly when she heard he'd had bad times over the course of their separation. She was an aunt, too? Well that wasn't a big surprise, only because she expected her siblings would likely have children at some point during the two years they were apart. "Well, any of your children will be welcomed here, brother." She smiled. Of course, they'd need to be able to live with the pride's ways but really, they hadn't any problems with that so far, and he was here himself, after all. "I hope that you will be, so far we haven't had anyone disappointed, I think it's a pretty good record if you ask me." She grinned, then calmed a bit. "Do you have any idea yet what you might like to do?"

She gestured for them to head towards the lake where the pride did most of it's socializing and lounging when the sun wasn't too much to bear.

He couldn't even imagine that many little faces looking at you all at once. In -groups- maybe, but wow... he was going to run into quite a bit of family there, wasn't he? Though he wasn't disappointed by the notion of being surrounded by the familiarity again.

Wandering outside of the lands he'd been born in had certainly left him with his own bits of lonely reprieve.

However, it seemed an inquiry as to what he'd be doing with his life amongst the family and pridal situation was in order, bringing him pause, thinking for a moment before he looked towards where it was his sister had started walking, rising up to follow along with her.

Hmmm....

"Well, it sounds like there are plenty of children around. Perhaps my efforts would be well suited in helping tend to them." he answered, not seeming at all embarassed by the notion. Hey! Men could care for babies too!

At least -he- thought it was a nice idea.

"I'm certain that the others would welcome the aide." She smiled as the two now walked along side by side. "Kucha'kunge said you've already started with your lessons? How have those been coming along?"

She was curious as to how far he'd gotten, hoping that everything was going smoothly for him now that he'd joined here.

Oh goodness, that made it sound like he was going to be chilling with like.. two other lions while a lot of children were tossed into the picture.. though through his own experience with his children, he had come to realize that even a one-adult-to-kid ratio was just NOT enough attentive adult to each child.

"They've proven to be..interesting. I think part of me is still trying to grasp things.. but baby-steps. I can't expect everything to make perfect sense right off of the bat, so I expect I'll manage to make it work out."

"It's a lot to take in, but it will probably get easier with time." She agreed with a nod. "If I can do anything to make it easier you know you can ask."

But for now, she thought, settling in in the shade of the garden by the lake and catching up a little more sounded like bliss.
