March 3rd is known as Girls Day or Dolls Day in Japan!
Many girls have parties, dress in yukata's and display their collection of Girl's Day Dolls. Festive rice cakes and desserts are shared and celebrated during this time.

I was so busy with college that I forgot it was coming up, and I promised my lil sis I would make paper dolls with her on Girl's day.

Better go downstairs now and tell her Happy Girl's Day!
