Because I love those damn things, you all have to come up with an interesting one. Similes are permitted One entry per person. Judging will be held by three impartial judges, their names being Nihl, Seraph, and Nihilistic Seraph (hint hint, they're all me). Topic is this - Whatever comes to mind first, as Jameta kindly offered. Entries accepted for an indeterminate time. I'll tell you when I'll stop soon. Please PM your submissions to me. Diabolicael yeah... i dont get it. question A metaphor is a literary device used to compare something to something else. Thing is, you don't say "like" or "as", you simply call the object the name. To go with Jameta's example The man is not literally a testicular maggot. But instead of saying "he is like a testicular maggot," to comparison becomes closer and more immediate to the reader.

I usually use that line as part of an insult-
"You testicular maggot, writhing in your own spam- I hope you choke on your own vomit, keel over, und die."
The 'und' is purposeful, mind you- gives it a certain flair. mrgreen
Of course, I typically use this around the guys in my shop class. whee
