The colt yawned as he leaned against a tree at the edge of the forest overlooking green fields and clear blue skies, enjoying the shade it provided. Winter had finally given way to spring and flowers had practically been blooming non-stop for the past week. However, despite the good weather, Cabriole found himself with nothing to do. He had woke up rather early in the morning, had some berries for breakfast, went for a drink at the nearest stream, practiced his singing, had another meal- Ugh, it was so boring!
He yawned again, this time causing tears to form in his eyes; his parents were off somewhere and his siblings seemed occupied with their own adventures... Nothing remotely interesting happened and he felt so bored that he didn't even feel like practicing anything for the remainder of the day! Sighing, he trotted away from the shade and into the fields; maybe looking at the thousands of flowers will help fuel his inspiration.
A cool breeze caused the edges of his mouth to twitch upwards in a small smile as he wandered about aimlessly, stopping often to sniff a nearby flower. Perhaps it was good to take a break from his usual routine and relax; being bored does have its benefits.

 Takoda strayed near the small herd, she'd been alone quite a while and kind of wanted to be near other Soquili, but without the resposibility it needed to BE in a herd, she watched as a butterfly flew overhead, shimmering dust falling from its wings as it flew, she felt great peace in that precise moment, nothing else could compare surely. She noticed the young colt seemed bored often, and smiled at his antics, one day she might have colts and fillies of her own, so she studied how they herd interacted with the youngsters, trying to learn as much as she could so she could hold them in her memories when she moved on again. quite unexpectedly she realised that the colt was alone, and hadnt realised it in his little dreamland he seemed to be in, so she went towards him carefully "you know you shouldnt wander too far from your parents yet, there are Kalona and Skinwalkers around, lurking in the dark places" she said, at that second a rabbit squealed, far off, probably killed by some hawk or something she thought with a tiny shudder, keeping her gaze on the colt, to see how he would react

At the sound of a voice, Cabriole jumped in surprise; he was so absorbed in his own little world, he didn't notice that someone had approached him. Standing a short distance away, he stared, dazed, at what appeared to be only a winged mare. Relieved that whoever had approached him was not a breed his parents had warned him about, he quickly regained his composure, allowing a small smile to form on his lips, "Well, they seem to be busy. Besides, I think they'll rather come out at night, when its dark."
He nodded, as if agreeing with himself before offering a smile, "And I'm Cabriole Amachi, but please, call me Cabriole." With the mare's arrival, maybe today won't be as quiet or boring as he had thought.

Takoda smiled, this colt was cocky, a bit of a smarty pants too, but she laughed "well well, you're a brave little one aren't you" she said, deciding to lay down on the grass, enjoying the sunshine a little when the colt told her his name, "well, since you gave your name, i guess i'll tell you mine, its Takoda" she relplied "Cabriole is an unusual name" she commented more to herself than anything.
Takoda thought for a minute, wondering what this colt's herd would say finding them here, turning to him "this had got to be our secret ok? i'm undercover" she said, a small smile playing on her lips, wondering what Cabriole's reaction would be to that

"Unusual?" The colt paused as he looked at the female, wondering if it was a good or bad thing; he likes his name for it was unique and because it was some sort of a dance move... He came from a musical family, after all! Giving himself a smile at the thought, Cabriole decided that 'unusual' meant 'interesting' rather than 'weird' and quickly added, "Well, my father gave it to me... And nice to meet you Takoda."
A secret? He raised an eyebrow, leaning in a little as though he was afraid someone might overhear their conversation. When Takoda continued, Cabriole found himself feeling a little disappointed; he was expecting something that would blow him away. Then again, this was sort of interesting.
"What do you mean undercover?" He finally asked, curiosity lacing his voice.

Takoda smiled a sly smile and leaned in, whipsering in his ear "i'm not a Soquili really, i'm a fairy in disguise, looking for handsome strong colts that take care of their herd and listen to their parents to grant treats to" she beamed, and got up, shaking the seeds of the grasses off her pelt, getting some up her nose she sneezed Aaaaachooooo
eyeing Cabriole, she started to wander back towards his herd, "now, lets get you back to your herd young adventurer, and Cabirole is a very handsome name, fillies will fall at your feet someday, your father is very wise" she said to him, lifting her feet high, and giving her back a twitch of the muscles, pretending she had fairy wings, she pranced a little "want to race?" she dared him.

{Note to Revel: I edited his reply in the herd part here.}
"I'm not young enough to believe that!" The male raised an eyebrow as he pretended to look offended, trying his best to keep a straight face in front of the mare. However, he soon realized that he couldn't help letting out a giggle, finding her excuse rather funny; if he was much younger, he would have believed her. Grinning, he continued, "I wasn't born into a herd though.. My father brought us to one, left us there to go find my sister and ended up returning with my mother as well."
He paused, flicking his tail at the challenge; he hadn't done much racing outside of his family, and even then, it was with foals his age. Never had he been asked to race someone older than him... Most adults don't ask because it was a given than a foal will lose to an older Soquili unless the adult pretends to lose.
"They'll fall at my feet? I wouldn't want them to get injured..." The male frowned, shaking his head, "And I don't mind racing but I don't think you know where my family is... We move around quite a bit."

(i editted here)
Takoda giggled she thought Cabriole must JUST have believed her tall tale, "Oh well it was worth the try" she said, then looked around "i wasnt born into a herd either, much better to be free from the rules,..... but only if you're a grown up" she laughed, then smiled at his comment, "you'l figure out what i meant when you're old enough Cabriole"
Pawing the ground she laughed and took off at a fast canter, looking behind her to see if he was keeping u or falling behind, "we can find them later, i've been around, i know the rough area they'll be in" she called, i think she thought but laughed that off and went into a high stepping, playful, canter while waiting on the colt's response

{Awaiting response to previous post to edit this. Sorry again, Revel. >.<;}
The male shrugged at her comment, smiling as he did, "If you say so! I wonder when I'll ever be old enough though..."
"No, I know where they'll be," The colt replied with a toss of his mane, nodding towards where the forest was, "I know a way back to my herd through there so I think its best if we stick to this area, just in case... You know, just in case we get lost in some other herd's territory. Father told me that some herds don't take kindly to strangers..." He shuddered but smiled a little, "But I guess we can stay close to this place when if we do race, so... Why not?"
He started off galloping towards the mare, making sure he wasn't going at full speed; that'll never end well!

Takoda laughed at the colts comment about knowing where his herd was "well i would hope you do know, since they're your family" she laughed again, tossing her mane in joy at being free to run.
Turning her head slightly she saw that Cabriole was keeping up the pace very well, and didnt seem to be using all his speed either, "wowee you're a fast runner Cabriole" she said, flinging her head up and neighing to the sky in sheer delight. Suddenly she skidded to a halt in front of the trees, eyes wide as she caught the scent of something in there...

"As long as we come back here later, I won't get lost," The colt grinned as he galloped behind Takoda; as long as they stay close, it should be fine. He laughed in joy; it felt great to have the wind in his mane and tail and the sun in his eyes! At her comment, he blushed before replying with a smile, "Thank you! I'm not exactly the best runner in my fam-"
When she stopped suddenly, Cabriole changed direction suddenly, digging his hoofs into the ground to help his stop. However, he ended up tripping over his own hoofs before landing on his bottom a short distance away. He blushed even harder now, this time not because of a compliment, before composing himself and trotting back to Takoda as he muttered, "Not again..." As he stood by her side and followed her glance, he felt that his dignity hurt more than his bottom.
"What made you stop so suddenly?" He asked, frowning slightly.

Takoda glanced at Cabriole, long enough to see his embarrassment, and would have smiled if it wasnt for waht she felt coming from the trees, "shh Cabriole" she said, straining all her senses forwards, trying to figure out exactly what it was.
Keeping an eye on the trees, she moved back towards the confused colt moving quickly to be away from there "i smell blood and death and ... something else that i dont know" deciding to be honest with the colt "we must find your family now, get you safe with them." she said looking towards where she thought she had seen them last, before realising she was completely lost

"Blo-Blood and dea-death?" Cabriole stammered nervously; those were two words he learned about early in his life, and he knew that it was never a good thing to have both present at the same time. Backing away with Takoda, the colt frowned, shivering a little as a weird smell drifted to his nostrils; he had never smelt it before, but it didn't have the same pleasant aroma as flowers or fruits. Turning to look at the mare, he nodded in agreement, "Lets go back the way we came? I only know the way back if I go to that part of the forest..."
He paused, forcing a grin, "My herd has this really strong protector... He's a huge Angeni!" The safety and warmth of home never felt so inviting than at that moment. He trotted in front of his friend, gesturing for her to follow, "Come on, lets go!"

Takoda trotted along behind Cabriole, she kept glancing behind her, checking that nothing was following, "An Angeni you say? i've heard of them but never met one" she tried to be cheerful, and put the colt at ease, but she was rather nervous of the smell, content to trust the colt to know his way home.
To try and distract them both, she asked questions of Cabriole, of his family, "so who is this Angeni? what is your herd like?" she asked, shuddering a little and looking behind more often. "are you sure you know the way Cabriole?" she asked ears constantly moving to catch the slightest sound, before realising the the light was fading, it was getting dark
