He had stepped in something foul again.

Sitting down on his haunches, Dumisa let out an exasperated grumble, snapping his jaws together. He rubbed his paw onto the dirt in front of him, trying to get rid of whatever exactly it was that he had somehow not managed to avoid, and then sighed, shaking his head.

He was bored. Again.

Dumisa walked around a nearby tree absentmindedly, going in circles as he tried to come up with something to do, something that would make him at lesat have an interesting day.

Nothing was coming to mind. Dumisa sighed, flopping down and resting his head on his paws.

Damn it.

Ahadi bounded across the savannah with the typical exuberance of a pup her age. Each day was a new adventure just waiting for her to capture it. She never knew just what she would do or who she would meet, but she was always excited about the prospects that the day held. Ahead was a large tree. Well maybe that could be something interesting. Jumping her way over to the tree she saw another wild dog laying underneath it. Only this one was an adult. Dang he probably wouldn't be much fun.

Turning she decided to look elsewhere for fun. But after only taking a few steps she spun around facing the other wild dog again. "I'm going on an adventure!" She exclaimed, standing nice and tall.

Dumisa lifted his head at the sound of pounding feet, and his golden eyes landed on a small gray wild dog. She was prancing about around him, and Dumisa gave her a lazy, wolfish smile when she spoke to him. He noticed the way she stood, proud and as tall as she could manage.

Which wasn't very tall, considering her young age, but Dumisa certainly had to give her props for being confident. It was refreshing to see a young dog so strong-minded.

"An adventure?" he repeated, stretching out his front legs and then crossing one paw over the other, resting his head back down on his forelegs. "Is that right? And to where, exactly, might this adventure take you, oh young one?"

"That's right an adventure." She repeated with a nod of her head. His next question made her think. Brow furrowed a bit as she tried to figure out exactly where he adventure would take her. Did it matter? No not in the slightest. She took a step forward. "I don't know yet. But wherever I go I am bound to have fun." Her voice was filled with confidence. Ahadi was a master at finding interesting things. Even if those things weren't always interesting to others around her. As long as she was having fun that was really all that mattered.

Her eyes narrowed a bit. "I'm not that young!" She exclaimed, but her maw still held a smile. It was hard to not be excited about the possibilities that the day would hold.

Dumisa raised his head slightly, an expression of amusement crossing his muzzle. He raised a paw, rubbing at one of his ears as he scrutinized the younger dog in front of him. Certainly, she was much more confident than many of their kind, and it amused him to see a young one so enthusiastic and excited about finding adventure.

Or having adventure find them. Which was usually the case.

Dumisa stood, stretching out his forelegs, and then he snapped his jaws together again, a wolfish smile appearing. He began to slowly circle her, looking at her small appearance up and down with amusement. After he was done, he sat back down on his haunches and laughed lightly and her indignant response.

"You're an interesting kid." Dumisa said, cocking his head. "What's your name?"

Ahadi did not flinch or show any fear as the larger dog circled around her. In fact when he had finish and said that she was interesting in made her stand a little bit taller. "My name is Ahadi. And I'm an adventurer." She told his proudly as she lowered herself onto her haunches.

This other dog certainly had some interesting colors on him. "What's your name?" She asked as she looked over his blue, grey and yellow pelt. Perhaps this adult wasn't so bad after all. Most would have either ignored her or shooed her away at this point.
