Long ago the Kingdom of Eclipse was ruled by a grizzled old Jolteon named Jupiter with his mate Vesta, a lovely petit Flareon.
The two were well aware that they were getting older by the day and decided it was about time to settle down and make an ‘heir’ [If you catch my drift~]
Days later they were seen with a small egg, light brown on the bottom and pure white at the top.
An odd coloring for an Eevee egg, but at the time they thought nothing of it.
When the egg hatched, they were surprised to find twin Eevee, one shiny and one normal.
The shiny Eevee had piercing yellow eyes and was prone to mischief, while her brother was a calm and serene Eevee with no unique features aside from his lavender eyes that seemed to stare right into a Pokemon’s mind.
The two were named Solaris, for the male and Selena for the female.
The twins grew up under their parents care, eventually branching off to create rescue teams of their own.
After many missions and adventures, the two developed a competitive nature and were constantly butting heads.
Eventually it grew to blatant rage and for Selena it festered into jealousy.
It is common knowledge in the kingdom that in the case of twins, the male heir is the one who ascends to the throne.
This fact was unbearable for the shiny Eevee and slowly she began to plot on how to make the crown hers.
At the urging of their father, Solaris was sent to evolve on his own. An honored tradition in the royal line.
No one was permitted to see what evolution he chose until his inauguration ceremony, for it was considered bad luck.
However, Selena was never big on rules.
She snuck into the chamber, watching as her brother evolved into an Espeon and the second he left she leapt forward and produced a Lunar Ribbon, demanding to be an Umbreon so she could have a type advantage in the war she was planning to start.
