Foals. The word kept trilling around in his skull, delightful melody and annoying birdsong all at once. Foals. Foals.
At last then, he was to be a father... His blood running in the veins of others, others he could take from foal-hood and teach, train, raise. Poor, sweet Kanti.. Mother to his children. Well, at least -for now- they were abiding by her normal diet... He imagined she would not take to hunting rabbits. Nor any other small, helpless creature. And him killing it was hardly any better, he supposed. There was no doubt she would hate to eat it.
Well, for now it was no concern. She would foal any day now, and then what they ate would be their own business, and his. Being the Kalona parent, he would be hunting if they wanted blood.
Feeding something else? The idea was, strange, to him... Even in taking in his lamb, she had done a great deal of the hunting herself... Aided by a wolf friend, and occasionally himself.
"No matter." He murmured, returning his attention to the winding forest path he carelessly followed. There was little in the woods or world he had to fear, really. Being a fully-grown Kalona stallion meant little would be attempting to hunt him. Still, to let his mind wander was foolish.
"What entertainment is to be had in these parts, I wonder?"

 Coal was practically strutting as he was roaming the area by himself. he had sired a daughter and son, whom he was beyond proud of. they where strong, and pure blooded too. grinning to himself, he was pleased with his two children and was happy they finally where adults so that he didn't have to keep an eye on them any longer. though he did like to keep track of his two children, he let them be independent since it meant they could fend for themselves and where strong. tail lashing about, he was lurking about and debating on going for a hunt so that he could fill his belly.

'Enough meandering...' Even his thoughts were bored as he moved along the path and into darker corridors of the woods. Surely there was some excitement to be hand?
A slow, lazy walk became a spirited march, a floating trot that ended in rhythmic thumps as his sharp hooves met the rich dirt of the path. Little puffs of sand rose as each foot lifted, then drove down again. Pistons that urged a dark machine in motion.
His ears pitched forward at the scent of another, up ahead somewhere, perhaps beyond the bend of the path where he could sense the forest opened up a little, a wider trail. This was a game trail that a hunter's. Pushing aside the thought to hunt for deer or other large game, Aveshar flared his nostrils and drank in the breeze.
The dark sent of forest, of incoming rain... Rich dirt and healthy plant life, as well as rotting matter. And there, another....
"Greetings." He rumbled before the other came into sight, not wanting to walk into an ambush. Pure members of his race were not the sort of target he would attempt to eliminate, at least, not without cause.
For the moment, a greeting would do.

Coal came to a stop when he heard anothers voice, while lurking through the trees in search of game. hissing, he hated being interrupted but his curiosity to see who caught wind of him made him come out of where he was lurking. giving a toss of his head, his lip curled in a sneer as he spoke to the other kalona male. " do you always make yourself so easly known to others like that?" if Aveshar wanted some excitment, well he just got it as Coal was know for being a violant brute and rarely used his words with others for very long.

"When I'm bored." Aveshar smirked as he replied, making no effort to stifle the laughter that lurked behind his words. "It works if one is in search of sport..."
His wings flared as he trotted along, ears rotating to catch the sound of the other's voice. The stallion's tone brooked violence and sport, a pity to quarrel with another strong specimen of the race... Not that it would stop him from fighting if that was necessary.
Well, here was hoping the other was no friend of Masquerade or Nightshade... Aveshar certainly didn't want that to contend with. He admired both mares, this stallion did not have that luxury.
"Likewise does it ensure you are not attacked unless that is the other party's goal. I certainly have no wish for you to mistake me for prey, such games do not interest me."

" i would never be foolish enough to mistake a fellow kalona of being prey." Coal just laughed at the idea of doing that. " boredom can sometimes cause you unwanted trouble." a devilish smirk was on his face, as he sized the other stallion up now. he was never stupid enough to pick a fight with another unless he knew he could take them, and he also never picked a fight with a fellow kalona. that is until he got bored and or he truely was just blood thirsty enough for a real fight. "what brings someone like yourself to this area?"

"A pity that others cannot say the same." Aveshar replied coolly, considering the laughing stallion. He'd met some Kalona that were no better then prey, sadly enough. Not that they bore mention as Kalonas.. For other then some appearance similarities, they resembled nothing of the proud race. But that was not the sort of debate one got into with a perfect stranger.
"And to some, trouble is rarely unwanted." He shrugged faintly, smiling in reply. Aveshar was one for a good fight now and again, it could get boring just picking on lessers... And it was always worth a laugh when he found one that he could needle until they lashed out in retaliation. It was not an often occurrence, but a welcome event when it happened.
The question made him tilt his head, considering his surroundings again. In truth? He'd not been seeking out anything in particular... There had been a bit of sport earlier in the morning.. A swift hunt... A pleasant enough flight to the area he now wandered in... But it had seemed just as good a place as any to land and explore.
Aveshar snorted and answered honestly. "I've always been a wandering soul.. I returned to this land not long ago, and now and again fly over head until I feel a place I've not explored before bears visiting... So here I've landed... But there was no clear reasoning behind this place over another. Am I right in guessing you live in this general area?"

"unwanted trouble can be easy to deal with if your smart enough and strong enough." Coal was one to solve his unwanted issues with brute force unless that was not going to work and was forced into talking like when his mother confronted him about his choice of mate. " yes i have territory near this area and i'm very sure my two offspring are rampaging about somewhere near unless they are visiting their mother."

Aveshar inclined his head in a faint bow that relayed his agreement to the statement. That was truer than most cared to admit. "Yes, a great many unpleasantries can be dealt with if you've those tools."
He shifted slightly and then stilled, an ear tilting to take in the sounds of the forest around them. "Forgive my intrusion then, if I am perilously close to being one. It was unintentional, I assure you."
He chuckled softly. "Children are prone to do that, a rather charming attribute most of the time... And that is how we all learned, when we were their age. I did not see anyone on my flight."
He shrugged, flicking one wing slightly. If he had, he probably wouldn't have landed. The area had seemed unclaimed and like a possible hunting place, but it turned out to be the opposite. Hopefully his presence was not too offensive. After all, it was much more entertaining to offend someone on purpose than by accident.

Coal was rather pleased this other male was being rather respectful. with a snort, he returned the faint bow to show he gave respect to those who gave it to him. he gave a flick of his tail with a grin on his face now. " you would of known rather fast if i was unhappy with your intrusion believe me. i am not one to play around or chit chat when if i want someone out of my territory" it was more than obvious coal was rather confident in himself to the point of almost being cocky. "i would have to agree and i am sure if they are not near they are doing their own things as they are strong adults."
