Hey, sorry I was so late. I had a fireside at church, it was really good.

yup.
I was thinking about this recently cause the other day I was reading in Job 33 and I read verses 14-17: "For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man."
This hit me hard when I read it. What do you pull from it?

Job is a good book.
I like how it talks about receiving revelation in dreams.

it sure is.
me too. what struck me was that, the Lord doesn't give up after he's told you once, he tries and tries again in different ways trying to get you to understand.
This ties into how the Lord works in mysterious ways by that, there are small and simple things in your life which happen for a reason in a simple way which pushes you in the right direction.
Can you think of any of these times in your life? (they are easier to see in hindsight)

Yeah, that's happened a lot of times in my life. In fact, I think it's safe to say my entire life is made up of plenty of small occurrences that seem inconsequential but turn out to have an important purpose. There was this one time a few weeks ago, when we were getting out of church and I was prompted to exit the Relief Society room out of a different door than I was planning to, and one of the sisters I visit teach was standing out in the hall and I was able to talk with her and set up a visiting teaching appointment, because she's usually really difficult to get a hold of. That really stood out to me.

that's cool. for me it was the other day. I was running early to dance and when I got there a couple of the girls I dance with had been there all day and were starving so I was able to take them to get lunch because I was early.
Somebody told me (just happened to be at the fireside I just went to) that he has learned to follow the promptings he gets, and that they haven't steered him wrong. He just follows his instincts and many great things have happened.
do you have any questions or comments?

No, that sounds good. I'm still learning to follow my instincts (a.k.a. the Spirit), I tend to deliberate too much on things.
Thanks for the mini-lesson.

your welcome. Good luck with trying to follow the promptings of the spirit, and don't forget to find the blessings all the things that happen (even the bad things that happen). Talk to you next week, and have a great week!
