Excusing himself from his mother's company, Helaku trotted a little ways away into the savannah. Once alone, he looked around, brow furrowed. Something unusual was out here...he didn't know how he knew that, but he'd learned not to question it too closely. He knew what he knew, and that was all there was to it.
"Anyone there?"

Ahadi slinked along the tall grasses, stalking her prey. She wasn't quite sure what this prey was but that didn't matter to her. Slowly she crept forward, careful not to make too much sound. A grin crossed her maw as she got closer. It wouldn't be long before she reached...well whatever it was. Then she heard a voice call out 'Anyone there?' How had her prey seen her. Oh well, she thought and stood up, sticking her head out of the grasses.
"I'm here!" She called out to the large lion that now was within view. So that's what she had been stalking. Well her certainly would have made interesting prey. Bouncing out of the grass she looked up at the grey and white lion. "My names Ahadi. Who are you?"

Well, this was an interesting little surprise. Lifting an eyebrow slightly, Helaku couldn't help but smile at the puppy's fearless curiosity. Had he been that inquisitive once? "Ahadi is a pretty name," he greeted her, flopping down onto the ground so that she could talk to him without craning her head to look up. "I'm Helaku."

Ahadi smiled widely at the lion. "I like your name." Helaku sounded quite interesting to her. But she had to admit she liked her name a bit better than his. Of course she may just be partial to her own. "I'm looking for adventure, wanna help me find it?" It may have sounded like an odd question but she was hoping he would be willing to at least play along for a while. Not like Ahadi had anything better to do while her father was out hunting. And her mother - well who knows where she was, it had been quite a while since she had left.

"Why, thank you," Helaku replied, gold-brown eyes warm as he smiled down at the pup. He hesitated for a moment at her question--some wild dogs weren't too friendly to lions--but decided that he could probably talk her parents out of any hasty decisions if it came to that. Surely they'd rather she had a chaperone than risk her coming to harm! "I'd be glad to escort a lady on her adventure, Ahadi."

Tag wagged happily at his offer. "Great!" Ahadi exclaimed as she began to bounce happily around the lion. "I love going on adventures, it keeps me busy when dad is busy hunting. My brothers don't like going on adventures with me, they say it's too dangerous, but I know it's not if I'm careful." Her rambling came to a stop for a moment when she plopped herself back in front of him. "Any good ideas? Or should we go where our paws take us?"

Helaku couldn't help but laugh a little at her exuberance. "It can be dangerous by yourself, but it's much less so if you have a grown-up with you." Head tilted a moment for thought, he grinned at the memory of a gnarled tree he and his mother had passed on the way here. "There's a biiiiiiiggg tree not far from here. Want to see it?"
