There was a flash of light, a clattering of tiny heels, and silence before Giselle Petrova emerged from the darkness of the alleyway, bruised and cut from some late-night youma encounter, but not far worse for the wear. Patrol hadn't been too difficult tonight, and Giselle felt like starting combat training (so far consisting of a lot of mail-away tutorial DVDs and an empty space in her room to work on them) was helping out a bit. Hoped it was, anyway. She didn't have any time to play Age of Empires lately, it was all about becoming better at being Libra.
Libra, Libra, Libra, eating up her life in bits and pieces. She winced as she stretched her bruised limbs gently, and turned around to her companion, giving the Zodiac second in command a brisk nod. "Good work tonight," she commended the shadows, and then looked around at where they had ended up. "Pardon me for asking, but do you have time for a bite? Now that we're off duty, I was hoping to have a word with you."
And there it was, the real reason why Giselle had asked Topher to patrol with her a few days after the Zodiacs had met up on Valentine's Day. Giselle was trying to meet up with the Zodiacs that seemed unfamiliar to her in her usual diplomatic fashion, and if not get to know them better, at least conference with them. Waiting for him to reply, she added, "I know a good sandwich place nearby. Well, not good, as such. Clean and cheap, more like."

Just after Giselle left the alley, there was another flash followed by a much more prominent thud. Topher Coral wasn't much better off, vocalizing the growing pain in his side from a dark bruise that had seemed to just materialize out of nowhere. Most people got random, unexplainable cuts on their fingers. Zodiacs got random, unexplainable scrapes and bruises all over their bodies. It didn't help that Taurus couldn't attack in any way, shape or form. There was definitely some self-defense lessons in the future for the poor boy.
"I must say the same to you," he said with a chuckle as he ventured out of the alley. "Man. I don't even remember getting hit. Did you see me get hit?" he questioned, looking curiously at where the pain was actually coming from. Event though it hurt, Topher was undeterred from poking the area just under his ripcage.
With her few words, he knew Giselle wanted to talk business. This hadn't been a normal zodiac patrol outing in the slightest. Screwing his face up in pain every few steps like an idiot in the name of injury was going to have to wait for later. "Of course I've got time. As much time as you need. Anything specific?" While the captain didn't quite know what she wanted exactly the zodiacs definitely had a lot to talk about amongst themselves these days. Besides, when there was food involved, he would listen to whatever anyone had to say. "Cheap sandwiches actually sound great right about now. I haven't eaten since this morning. Shall we then?"

Libra winced sympathetically. She had gotten off more easily than Topher had, she had her scales to hit things with at the worst. "I barely noticed the youma hitting me, let alone anything else," she admitted sheepishly as she stretched her aching everything. "It's harder to keep cool in battle than it looks like in my computer games."
"Excellent," she replied as he acquiesced to her conference. "It's right across the street." Socrates' Cafe was a hole in the wall restaurant that had been open since time immemorial and operated 24 hours a day. The best thing about it was that it was immaculately tidy, but the sandwiches weren't bad either, and as she came in, Giselle sat down at the cold metal counter with a grateful sigh. Sitting down was lovely. "Anything broken?" she asked when she was settled down. "I only brought bandaids and alcohol wipes." She reached into her cardigan pockets and put them on the counter, pulling out a few for herself. "We can get to business after we order. Quite frankly, I'm starving, and I'm sure that you are too." Stepping over to the counter, she waved to the lone employee in the kitchen and said "Cheese and lettuce on white, please."
Looking back at Topher, she added, "I'd like to get to know you better. Well, all of the Zodiacs, really. What with all that's happened recently, I feel that I should be doing my part to ensure that we work better as a team."

At least one of them was calm and collected during battle. Topher swore he spent more time huddled in a corner than actually doing anything.
"Socrates' Cafe huh?" To his knowledge, Topher didn't think that he'd eaten there before. Though, the place looked clean enough and he doubted any place Giselle took him to would be ripe with food poisoning so it was worth a try. Besides, to say that he was just starving would have been an understatement. Topher shuffled after her, situating himself next to her at the counter. "Don't worry. I think my bones are a little tougher than that. But I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna to have a bruise the size of Texas when I wake up in the morning!" Overly cheerful as ever, he looked around the place for some sort of menu. Even though he eventually found it, he still didn't quite know what exactly to order. What exactly did people eat at this late hour anyway? Before he could get past all the different ways to put chicken between two pieces of bread, Topher already knew that he was probably going to take forever in deciding. Though she seemed to know what to order right away. "Can you recommend something? I'm not too good about ordering things," he smiled apologetically, drumming his fingers on the table as quietly as he could.
Food or not, it was definitely a good idea to hang out with Libra for once. What she was saying did make a lot of sense. Being friends with teammates was pretty much essential to morale. "That's definitely a good idea. We're all pretty spread out now." His fingers tailed over the menu once again as he thought. "It's almost like we all need to start living together or something. It's getting even harder to contact anyone when we actually need them."
