...what songs would you like to hear?
I would like to hear: "The Night Watch" by King Crimson "Starless" by King Crimson "No Quarter" by Led Zeppelin (I think they could do this song better than Tool) "Interstellar Overdrive" by Pink Floyd "Llama" by Phish

Haha... I'd like to see how they "Voltafy" The Lemon Song by Led Zeppelin.
Mostly to see how Juan Aldarete de la Pena lives up to John Paul Jones' bass line for that song. 3nodding

How about covering their own ATDI song, Quarantine? Just to see how much different it would actually sound. 3nodding

Yeah, I've sort of wondered what One Armed Scissor would sound like if Mars Volta played it.

Yurrr, What about Hit Me Baby One More Time? EVERYBODY covers that and it'd be just hilarious if they jumped on the bandwagon. biggrin They'd probably put a huge interlude in the middle.

Ballroom Blitz would be really cool, that song has become one of my all time favorites since it was in Kung-fu Hustle.

eh, I don't really know. Other than At the Drive-in songs. The Mars Volta doesn't seem like the type of band than covers anyone. Especially because they don't like the whole mainstream scene.

Yeah. Well, not necessarily the whole mainstream scene, like, there's a select few bands that aren't complete s**t in mainstream...Maybe the mediocrity of the mainstream scene...? I doubt they'd do any recent songs anyway. most covers I've listened to are older songs.

I'd rather hear them do "Revolution #9" by the Beatles.

i'd like to hear em' cover something Punk or just crazy : Punk :Machine Gun Etiquette from The Damned - i'd lke to see Jon Theodore arms bleeding by the Fasty-ness of the drums in this song {Sorry i do't know s**t about drums xd } Dark Side of The Moon From Pink Floyd Or Money , Sheep or The Wall (i'd just be happy if they played one of them floyd songs) or We Are The Lazer Viking from An Albatross , (i guess the Mars Volta won't do good in 53 second songs...)
