Since now Svart knew no one but his brother and they would usually get along while playing and exploring farther than they should have. But today things were different for two brothers had different opinions what direction should they explore for the first time. After a short argue they both went they're separate ways.

Bit angry at the beginning Svart quickly forgot about the fight he had with his brother distracted with all wonders of the spring and awakening nature. There were so many strange flying creatures all around traveling from one flower to another. And all those colors. Sweet smells that were calling from the near by meadow. Svart couldn't help himself but to run as fast as he could laughing happily along the way.

It was a sunny day but the edge of the forest seemed so brighter than the space beneath the trees. Svart stormed out of the forest and into meadow. Found part of it with most flowers and started to roll on it in hope to collect as much sweet flower smell as he could on his body.

Damien was walking along on his own merry way, quite happy to be rid of a certain nuisance called Syrea. Sure, it made him feel a bit special having someone admire him as much as she seemed to, but geez. He shook his head, an action that became a mistake when a chunk of his forelock got stuck between his ear and horn. With a groan, the colt maneuvered himself over to a bush after flicking his ear didn't work.

At the bush, he glanced about, making sure no one was around, then quickly stuck his head into it, twisting until he felt the ease of the small empty space mid-ear and horn empty once more. When he withdrew, he found, to his dismay, that he wasn't alone any longer. Well, not technically. The bush was one of the plants that were foremost in the surrounding of an open meadow, in which a colt his age - a little older? - was doing something....

Well, he was doing something. And he sure didn't spot Damien, a fact Damien was going to take advantage of. Both eyebrows raised, Dai stood and stared. He found just observing to be very helpful at times. So, this other colt was rolling around in the meadow, with no purpose apparent to Damien, making a scene of himself. 'Wonder what he'd feel like knowing someone's watching him,' he chuckled inaudibly. 'How embarrassing..'

Life was an adventure, Syrea firmly believed. It was enough of an adventure that one couldn't simply sit on one's rump and wait for it to pass them by. With the coming of the sun she'd been off, Indah trailing behind at a tolerable distance while she ran around and explored the vast amounts of land she'd never seen before. Though Indah didn't really play much, Syrea didn't mind being watched by her, because she was mostly left to her own devices.

"I'm going to go here, okay?" Without waiting for an answer, Syrea charged forward, hind feet kicking up behind her as she pranced into a field. There were sweet smelling things everywhere!

Diving into a sea of them, she stirred up a cloud of pollen, making herself sneeze wildly as she did. Occupied with herself and her own antics, she didn't even notice the presence of another foal, much less two; she turned in a circle, wings fluttering madly, and sneezed until her eyes nearly popped.

"Whoa!" Terribly amused, she planted her hooves, sniffing the air with a smile. It definitely smelled good here. After a moment, her gaze fell on a disturbance in the flowers, and she didn't think twice about pouncing on it.

Hooves planting next to the rolling individual, she realized it was another foal. And one she didn't know to boot!

Squealing in excitement, she greeted, "Hi! I'm Syrea! What are you doing?" Without waiting for an answer, she dropped to the flowers, taking a roll herself.

Midway through the roll, she was seized by another sneezing fit.

Svart stopped rolling to see who had spoken to him. He thought he was alone so he didn't pay much attention to his surrounding and was surprised when he saw a filly sneezing. And it wasn't sneezing that amazed him. It was her wings he found most interesting. Till now he never saw anyone else than his family. And the only wings he saw were bird looking one that his father and brother had. He himself was wingless like his mother.

'' Wow! Those are cool looking wings you got there! ''

Svart needed few minutes to move his eyes from the wings and inspect filly little better.

'' Oh yea my name. I'm Svart. Nice to meet you Syrea. ''

Not only did her wings look strange but she also had something growing on her forehead. And what kind of tail was that growing on her rear.

'' I'm collecting sweet smell from this colorful things growing all around. ''

And it was just than that it really hit him. He was speaking to someone outside of his family. That was it. He made first contact with the outside world. And it really didn't matter who it was. This must be what his father was speaking about when he said that there are others outside of the safety of they're hidden place in the forest.

Now question was what to do next. What was considered to be fun to this stranger. His little mind was racing when an idea was born. Why not run? She had hoofs just like he and four legs too. Smile widened on his little mouth.

'' Lets play tag! ''

Svart jumped and started to run as fast as he could watching over his shoulder to see if the filly was going to follow him. What he didn't realize was that he was running right towards second foal standing near bust. By the time he looked in front of him to see where he was going it was too late to stop on time and avoid crash. He made a quick turn with a jump to avoid the second foal but his action ended in his front side in the bush with his hind legs high in the air.

At the end of all drama from the bush came painful

'' Ouch... ''

'What the-?!' She just wouldn't let him alone, would she? Damien watched with shock and awe as that filly Syrea danced into the meadow and ran through the sea of flowers. It being springtime, this action stirred a tidal wave of pollen, some of which inevitably floated his way. Now determined not to get noticed and get away, Dai stuck his tongue hard up against the roof of his mouth when his nose started tingling with the feeling of a sneeze.

Sneeze avoided, the dark colt went back to have what he figured would be a good parting look at the scene unfolding. Syrea was making a new friend, how wonderful! Perhaps she'd leave him alone now and stalk this other guy instead. Quite satisfied with his discovery, Damien was in the process of turning about and walking off when that other foal started making a racket and... Wait... He was running towards Damien!

Before Dai could gather himself from this new surprise, Svart was almost touching him, but instead landed into the bush, just missing Damien. He had to admit he was relieved. Svart was ever-so-slightly bigger than Damien and didn't appear to have hollow bones. Of course, Svart's landing in the bush was far from being a blessing. By maneuvering into the growth, the other colt flattened it, leaving Damien blinking over it straight at Syrea. 'Well, crap....' He sighed, no way out of here now.

Tag sounded delightful. Tag sounded like everything in the world she wanted to do at just that moment. Brimming with the excitement of it, Syrea took off after her new friend, hooves pounding against the ground in uneven strides as she did. She wasn't the most competitive filly in the world, and anyway, half the fun of tag was the chase! If you caught each other too quickly it made the game boring, and she hated boring games.

She played tag at home sometimes. Indah didn't really play it much, and Einarr bopped her on the head if she pestered him about it all the time, but sometimes she got a game. Momma was really good about playing tag, and she'd learned a few tricks from her.

Tricks like cutting corners when the person in front of you was really fast, which she would have done, except he suddenly started running really strangely.

Frowning, she leaned back, slowing her run as Svart dodged someone and went flying into a bush. It reminded her of when she'd met Damien, except she'd actually smashed into him, and -- holy moly, was that Damien?

Skidding to a halt, barely managing to stop herself, she stared at him, eyes wide. This guy was everywhere! It was definitely meant to be! Even if he didn't think so, it was definitely meant to be. She hesitated a moment, remembering the last time they'd met and the mean thing he'd said, but ultimately decided not to dwell on it.

Instead, she looked away from him, rushing toward the bush. "Are you okay? Does it hurt? Are you bleeding? I'm part unicorn you know!"

Nosing in, she shoved her face under his belly, doing her best to help lift him. She grunted, unhelpfully, and continued her barrage of questions. "Did you hit your head? Did you bite your lip? I bit my lip once, it really hurt. Come on, work with me!"

She wiggled her butt, tail swinging, and called, "Come help, Damien! Gosh!"

Svart's back left leg twitched when filly came to his aid.

'' Mmmm... ''

Few wiggles and slowly he was on his feet again. All scratched and with twigs and leafs staring out of his mane he turned to face foals.

'' I think nothing is broken. But I feel itchy all around... ''

And than he felt warm water oh his cheeks. Was he really crying? He sat on the ground trying to push a pain aside. He will never grow up if he continues to cry for every little thing.

Seeing filly's worried face made him feel little better. And what happened?! This was supposed to be a fun game not another painful end to fun. Svart admired that he could be clumsy at times but this time it wasn't his fault he ended up hurt. After all it wasn't him who was standing in his way. He turned his look at the foal he almost run into.

'' What is a unicorn? ''

Well, Syrea didn't seem to pay Damien much mind, surprisingly. Was she really still upset about him calling her dumb? How very like a girl. He observed her fret over the other colt, ignoring him for the most part. And, surprising him even further, Dai felt a little jealous of the older boy. Excitable, loud stalker that she might've been, Syrea was Damien's excitable, loud stalker. Not Svart's.

And she expected him to help this guy? Helping others wasn't Damien's way, especially not sympathy-inducing babies like 'sir pollen-face'. So he just hung back, watching the little filly struggle and eventually pull him free of the bush. Disheveled at best, Svart was also... Crying? Now, that was unacceptable! Didn't they have an honor code or whatnot as boys?

Then that Svart looked at him and asked him about Unicorns. And, though Damien knew lots about Unicorns, his grandfather with whom he lived being one, he wasn't about to admit such in front of Syrea and expose the fact that he didn't come from the Sky Kingdom. After all, there were no Unicorns in the Sky Kingdom unless they had wings! "How should I know?"

Syrea felt bad seeing the colt cry. In her experience, you only cried when something was really, really wrong, and it wrenched her little heart. Face falling, she danced an uneasy circle around him, looking to Damien for guidance. He came from the Sky Kingdom, didn't he? And he had all his memories! He should know what to do in this kind of situation!

But he wasn't being very helpful. Expression clouded, she looked away from him again, nosing Svart's cheek. "Hey, it's okay! Don't worry, it's okay! I ran right over Damien when I met him, and I've fallen over loads of times."

Fluttering her wings uneasily, she did the only thing that seemed to make sense, and licked at his tears. That'd make them go away, right? It made sense, right? Gosh, she had no idea at all!

"And unicorns can heal! Like my momma, she's a full unicorn, she told me. I can't heal yet, but I will be able to when I grow up, so stuff like this will be no problem!"

This was not helpful at all in their current situation. She looked at Damien, expression a little desperate, and asked, "Are there bushes that make people itchy in -- you know -- there?" She wasn't sure if she was supposed to reveal the secret, and since Svart didn't have wings, he'd only be unhappy if he knew about a place he could never go to. "I don't even know what's going on. I can't help if I don't know."

And, fretting, she plopped down on her rump beside her newfound friend, looking expectantly at her -- sort of -- maybe-friend.

When he wasn't calling her dumb, anyway.

Licking helped a bit. Syrea wasn't his mother but it felt comforting enough that it stopped tears from flowing in two little streams.

'' Where is you know where? ''

Slowly examining a new colt that was standing in front of them Svart noticed it had bird wings. Just like his brother and father. But he also had strange things growing on his head. So Svart began to wonder if all outside individuals were so small in size and had things growing on they're heads. Maybe that was the reason why his parents kept him and his brother hidden. Could the really be so different from others? looking at colt's wings Svart made his statement.

'' My father and brother have those just like you. ''

Dai wanted so badly to make note that sure, Unicorns have healing properties, and Syrea had claim to power with her horn and tail, but Unicorn offspring and crossbreeds had less of it. He knew such, because Taigi told Cecilia all the facts about their race. Matter of fact, Damien might've had slight, slight slight healing powers, great-grandson of a pure, but without horn or tail it gave him just about... Oh, one-sixteenth of a true Unicorn's (halved with every generation, then once more for lack of a healer's body). His sister had about one-eighth, which wasn't impressive, but was against his own. That aside, Damien couldn't speak out because it'd give facts against him being a Sky Kingdom King.

"No." Syrea'd asked him a question, which at first didn't register and he assumed she asked, 'do you know anything about Unicorns,' still absorbed by his train of thought. So, naturally he said no. Then he realized what she really asked, but was grateful to find the answer still applied, "of course not! Why would a perfect place have stingy, itchy bushes?" Nice save, seeing as he knew nothing of bushes. Any type of botany, for that matter.

His attention flicked back to Svart, who said something Damien didn't really understand, "have what just like me?" His head tilted in genuine curiosity.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 27, 2010 9:21 pm

Making a face, Syrea mumbled, "I didn't know it was perfect place too, gosh," but didn't say more on the subject. She was afraid that Damien would start getting ideas in his head again about her not being smart, and she'd had a long, heartfelt talk with her mother about that.

She was definitely smart. Indah had said that most of the time being smart meant knowing that there was always a lot left to learn, and she definitely had that down pat. Anyone who said they knew it all really didn't. Of course, she figured Damien knew just about everything about the Sky Kingdom, and if she could get him alone she'd ask more about it, but she didn't want to make Svart feel bad. After all, she'd cried recently, and she knew it wasn't a fun experience.

So, she leaned over, bumping her shoulders against Svart's. She saw her momma do that sometimes to Viraj, and all she really had to go on was examples from her family. He'd stopped crying, so that was a good thing.

"It's a far away place," Syrea explained, hoping to keep it at that. After a moment, she blinked, looking between the two colts. "Your family has wings, too?"

Smiling brightly, she fluttered her own, exclaiming, "My sister Fleurite has wings! My momma doesn't, but Viraj has wings too. His are different though, they aren't like mine or Damien's... they're bigger."

She thought about it, and how else she could describe them. Nothing really came to mind, so she lapsed into a silence, a slight frown on her face as she worked her brain for an accurate description.

'' Yea. My dad has bird wings just bigger and my brothers are just like... ''

It was now that realized the colt never introduced it self. But he also remembered that Syrea mentioned a name Damien so he assumed that had to be his name.

'' ... Damien? ''

He looked into colt's face to see if he guessed right. By now the pain was gone. And he didn't feel so down anymore. Actually he already forgot what has happened just a few moments ago.

It was now that Svart wished he too had wings more than ever. This far away place seemed so interesting especially when it seemed that both foals were from there since it was obvious they knew each other. So he sadly peaked at his wingless back for a moment. His brother had wings for as long as he could remember. And even though he was told he will never have ones he still hoped some day they would miraculously start growing. He turned his head in Syrea's direction at the mention of her wingless mom. So there were others without wings out there.

'' My mom doesn't have wings either. She usually says my brother inherited fathers wings and I her eyes. ''
PostPosted: Sun Feb 28, 2010 10:17 am

Oh, the wings, duh. But then again, Damien had a right to be confused, because the other colt was vague, yes? Yes. Svart could've been talking about his cloven hooves or horns or something. All this ran through Damien's head so he wouldn't feel dumb.

Dai nodded when Svart asked his name and replied, "Svart?" Even though he was sure that that was the colt's name.

As he thought about what Syrea had said about her family having loadsa wings, he blinked and thought back on his family. Neither Taigi or Nevara, his grandparents, had wings... And the stallion who believably claimed to be Damien and Cecilia's father, Van, was a pure Unicorn... But his mother was Taigi and Nevara's daughter and they didn't have any wings in their family! So, thinking of it now, it was actually pretty believable that Damien did come from a Sky Kingdom! Amazed at his own discovery, he stared off into the distance, spacing.

No way, it was just a fairy tale.

Having given up trying to find words to describe Viraj's wings, Syrea settled for watching the two colts, her expression thoughtful. Though she'd begun the day with the intent to simply explore and see what new treasures she could find, she definitely wouldn't turn away two playmates. Tag was a little out of the question, since Svart had already managed to hurt himself, but she was sure there were other things they could do! Rolling in the field was fun and all, except she kept sneezing, so something... better.

Rising to her feet, she first fluttered her wings, then wiggled her body, ending up doing a full-out shake by the time she was finished. It was one thing to be covered in the perfume of the field while you were rolling in it, but she definitely didn't want to be too dirty when she got home. Momma would give her that look again, and she was tired of getting that look.

Hmph, as if her mom even had room to talk! She rolled in the dirt all the time!

Momentarily distracted by her thoughts, she scowled, but the look was only fleeting. Home was for later; she was out with friends just that moment, and they needed to make the best of it.

"Okay! So, we all know each other." Cheerfully, she danced between the two colts, stopping an even distance between them, hooves planted in front of her. "And we're all bored, yeah?"

She didn't give them time to answer. "I say we go on an adventure." Adventure was said in a tone that suggested it was the most amazing thing in the world; adventure wasn't just adventure, it was a real journey, a thrilling endeavor, the promise of riches and the admiration of all.

In short, adventure was really the only thing to do on a sunny afternoon if you were in your right mind.
