Glowing lights so distant, yet closer than ever before. This was the farthest Damien had ever traveled forth from home in his budding life. It was also the closest he'd ventured to the two-leggers, naturally. Their triangular structures and strange orangey-red lights lured him in well enough.

The young colt was now positioned beside a teepee. The thing had a corral beside it, and the Soquili with in were watching him with uneasy eyes and conversing in whispers. Why did they seem to shy away from him? It was as if they were even... Frightened. Frightened, of a foal as little as him? He chuckled at the idea, thinking that it was because their lives were trapped and sheltered by slabs of wood arranged in a circular fence. Of course, it would take Damien time to understand that those Soquili feared Kalona. Kalona that was implied by the horns sticking out of his head.

What interested him more were the scents of the area. Nothing like he'd ever smelled in the forest! There was spice and sweetness and the scent of burning wood, which discouraged him a little. Didn't these two-leggers fear fire? Weren't they afraid of their pretty little teepees burning down? Their Soquili getting lost without the confines of wooden bars? Because that had to happen, didn't it? If those others were as 'sheltered' as they appeared.

Then his attention fled to the teepee he was next to once more. How could he fail to notice those? The charcoal sketches of Soquili and neat patterns... "Cool...."
