Prologue

All stories eventually pass into legend. One such story is that of the Hero of Light and the Twilight Princess. An age has passed since the events took place on that plain of Hyrule, and peace has reigned throughout the land…

Or so the people have been led to believe.

The Triforce of Wisdom has been passed down through out the royal family, but Power and Courage have been lost, leading to an inbalance that the royals fight every day to keep covered up.

A dark shadow looms over Hyrule, originating in the Grudo Desert- from the Arbiter Grounds. Prince Lamil has called for representatives from each province and race- those willing to answer the call…

Will heroes rise if the Hero of Light cannot return?

**********************************

Welcome to this RP. I hope we all can have fun. Now, the following is to help clarify what was in the prologue... I just felt like getting fancy with all that prior stuff.

It has been 1000+years since the events that took place in Twilight Princess.
I will be going off of the Gamecube version because that is the one I am most familiar with, so... Link was left handed, blah blah blah.

If there are any other questions, feel free to IM me.

Main Locations (for the moment)

Ordon Village- Populated by Humans of all types. It is the southernmost province and populated area of Hyrule. It is protected by the light spirit Ordona (the Goat). A farming village that focuses on agriculture and the smallest condensed populated area. The goats outnumber the people.

Faorn Woods- No real established villages. It consists of the remains of a monkey colony, what were once shops to service those traveling from Ordon into the rest of Hyrule, and a strange path that leads to a place no one can remember. It is protected by the light spirit Faorn (the Monkey).

Kakoriko Village- Populated by Humans and Gorons. It is the easternmost area populated by humans in Hyrule. It is in the Eladin Province and protected by Eladin (the Hawk). Small and focuses on trade and commerce between Death Mountain and Castle Town.

Death Mountain- The hottest area in all of Hyrule and populated by Gorons only. Only a short distance away from Kakoriko Village. Focuses on trade with Kakoriko and Castle Town.

Castle Town- Located in almost the exact center of Hyrule, it is populated by mostly Humans with the occasional Gorron or Zora there for commerce or communication with the Royal Family. It is the largest populated area. Located in the Lanaryu Province and protected by Lanaryu (the dragon).

Zora’s Domain- The northern most inhabited area of Hyrule, it is populated by only Zoras. It is self sustaining, having their own monarchy, but they still answer to the royal family. They rely on fishing mostly for food as well as commerce. This area is also located within the Lanaryu Province.

Weapons Available to Choose From

IM ME WHICH ONE YOU WILL BE CLAIMING BEFORE IMING ME YOUR PROFILE!

Sword (Not able to wield Master Sword)- Sorry, but the Hero of Light returned the Master Sword to its proper place after striking down the one of power and darkness. But, you can be good with a blade...

Sword wielders:
Thurinion (Hinote)

Bow (Not able to wield the Hero’s Bow at the start)- Again, the Hero of Light returned the Hero's Bow to the Goron's in Death Mountain, and they're not going to give it to just anyone. But if needed, they will give it to one who proves them-self. You start out with a slingshot and work your way up to a regular bow...

Bow Users:
Caelrea (Rilma)

Ball and Chain- Just like it was in Twilight Princess. A giant metal ball attached to a long chain. It's very heavy, so personally, I would recommend a Goron wielding this because they will not be hindered by its weight.

Miscellaneous- This will include the Clawshot (you'll only get one...), the Boomerang, and other things I may think of that I don't know right now. However, you cannot wield them at the same time. i.e having the clawshot in one hand and having the boomerang at the ready. But you are very versatile, and mind, you won't get all the items at first, so I recommend you start out with a sword or bow, but then you can migrate to this category as the RP progresses.

Rules

Okay, you guys have been in enough RPs to have the rules practically memorized by now. But, just for reference...

1- Gaia TOS... nuff said.

2- God mod = pretty much death of your character. If you are unsure about something you wanna do, IM me before you post.

3- Fluff good and okay in small doses... cyber bad... again, death of your character.

4- Keep in mind, this is 1000+ years post Twilight Princess. Things have changed in Hyrule... but not TOO much. The castle has been re-built, and the names of Zelda, Link, and Midna are mere legends at this point. A.K.A. bed times stories your character was probably told about while growing up.

5- If anything else arises, I will address it here. I don't wanna have to add more rules...

“Ready to go?” a young man asked, tying off a rope onto the saddle horn of his large bay draft horse. The girl he spoke to simply smiled, already mounted on her steed, an Ordonian goat tied off with a leading rope to her horse as well. She was a rather plain girl, other than the fact her hair was a fiery red compared to the pale blonds or browns of the rest of Ordon Village. One other feature that set her apart from the rest of the villagers was the fact her ears looked elvish- being long and pointed.

“Tahlmas, I’ve been ready since dawn. You’re the one who’s been lollygagging,” the girl clicked her tongue and guided her horse and the goat around a small area of the paddock, ready to go. The goat bleated, not quite sure of what to make of being led around in a small circle, but the stocky dapple gray horse seemed just as anxious as his mistress. “Come on, Tahlmas! That one shop in Castle Town should have that bow in… you know, the one I want… Crafted by the Gorons of Death Mountain, but infused with some magic from the Zora traders…”

“You keep babbling like that, Caelrea, and I’m just gonna continue taking my time.” He hoisted himself up, but took longer than normal in completing his mount of the bay.

“Fine. I guess I’ll just leave you behind…” She clicked her tongue again, leading the horse and goat out of the paddock and down the slopping hill that led into Ordon Village.

It was a peaceful little village consisting of only 5 different families- the mayor’s family, the shopkeepers, the water wheel owners, and two farming families that focused on crops and raising the goats that the village was famous for. Caelrea was the daughter of the shopkeeper and one of the ranch hands. The girl found it much more fulfilling to tend to the goats rather than sit inside a building all day. She sat on the back of her horse, stretching and waiting for the boy to join her. He smiled as he approached, the goat in tow.

“Come on, Firam, can’t you make your master go any faster?” she cooed to the bay that bore the male rider. The horse merely snorted and continued at the slow, steady pace, as if he had set it. The boy chuckled as he led his horse and goat past the girl.

“Lyro, is there any way to tame your mistress?” he chuckled as he took the lead and they left the small village. The dapple gray pawed at the ground as he bore the girl and pulled the goat along with him.

As with the prior journeys the two had made in the past, they stopped off at the spring of the Light Spirit- Ordona, to pray for safe travel. Everything went smoothly as they entered into the province of Faron. Again, they stopped at the spring to pray for safety in the rest of the travel. Nothing of note happened until they had taken the path that would lead them towards the large open plain of Hyrule. Several monkeys dashed out from the woods, startling both horses and causing the goats to bleat unhappily, pawing at the ground, not only from the monkeys but from the rearing and upset horses.

“Easy boy! Easy!” Caelrea leaned forward in the saddle and patted Lyro on the shoulder and at the base of the neck. She cooed and patted the horse until he had calmed down enough to be led on.

“That was weird…” Tahlmus guided Firam a little ways as they continued to make their way towards the field. “The monkeys have never done that…”

“They’re just telling you to hurry up,” the girl teased as she nudged Lyro into a quicker trot, much to the displeasure of the goat attached by the leading rope.

There were a few fiendish creatures that would try to attack them. Tahlmus easily took care of the larger ones on the ground with his sword. Caelrea took down the smaller birds using a makeshift slingshot she kept on her body at all times.

“Is it just me, or have there been more Bublins lately?”

“Seems like those hunters aren’t exactly doing their jobs, huh?” The girl shrugged and stashed her slingshot back in its special pouch on her leg. “We’re close enough to town, we shouldn’t have any more problems.”

And that was the case. They entered the bustling, thriving metropolis that was the largest city in all of Hyrule. Beings of all types- humans, Gorons, Zoras, and a few other races Caelrea did not recognize- hurried about, never taking time to rest or to enjoy the beautiful day that had blessed the city.

It took a fair amount of skill to maneuver the large horses and goats throughout the crowds. A few of the busybodies bumped into the goats, causing the creatures to bleat and bay agitatedly. Lyro and Firam were used to the busy crowds, having traveled to Castle Town several times before with Caelrea and Tahlmus.

They arrived at the West side of town, where other goats had been kept to prepare them for being sold and traded.

“Tahlmus, can you watch after Lyro for a little while?” Without waiting for a reply, she left the reins to her steed in the boy’s hands, taking off for the center part of town. There was a large fountain in the center plaza, and Caelrea could see her target destination across the plaza- Malo Mart. She kept weary, however, one hand near her slingshot, the other near her coin purse. Just before she got to the shop, something…or someone… caught her eye, and it was moving towards the castle.

Drawing her slingshot, she headed after what she saw, just to make sure it would cause no harm to befall those that lived in the castle- The Royal Family…

Thurinion hummed to himself as he pulled his cart behind him. He was making that familiar trek from Zora's Domain to Castle Town, his rare flowers in the cart behind him. He always did enjoy the peaceful trip to and fro, breathing deep the fresh air. Though most Zora's did not like leaving Zora's Domain due to the lack of water, he had no trouble at all. He just cast a small water spell every so often to keep himself comfortable. Sometimes he would even make a small rain cloud appear above himself just for laughs. It was very rare that he ever ran into trouble on his route there, and it was even rarer that he could not handle the trouble. This time proved no different as he dispatched with the few things that gave him trouble. A quick Fire Sword spell and he was on with his journey to Castle Town.

It wasn't too much longer before he arrived and smiled at the beautiful town. He walked to the town center and set up his flower cart like normal, loving the mist the fountain gave off. While waiting for customers, he produced a flute from the bag at his side and began playing, adding a bit of a calming yet joyous mood to the air at the town center. He noticed the girl with the slingshot and watched her curiously, not stopping his flute playing. He looked around, no one else really noticing the girl. He shrugged and stopped his flute playing, locking his cart up and making sure it wouldn't be going anywhere. Making sure his sword was on him, he silently tailed the girl.

" You're in no position to argue Sir Elerous. I want details the castles interior, the rooms, the guard patrols and shifts. Everything, down to when the royal family takes a nap."

Zealot ghost like cloak blew ominously in the breeze as he held his serrated dagger to the throat of a grievously wounded knight. The knight struggled in vain against his attacker, hate burning in his eyes.

" I'll never tell you anything Zealot. I cannot allow the royal family to come to any harm. Especially to a monster like you."

" You are not helping your situation anymore by pretending to understand my motives Sir Elerous. I'll ask you one more time, give me the information I require. "

" I spit on your honor fiend. May you die alone and in agony."

" Very well."

With a quick move of his wrist, the dagger slid through the kinght's jugular, killing him within seconds. As the knight drew his last breath, Zealot kicked his corpse down the hill into a nearby pond. Cleaning his dagger off, he retrieved the longsword the knight had been carrying from the ground. He took a moment to admire the craftsmanship.

" Nice sword. Too bad it was wasted on a fool. Look's like I'll be doing this the hard way."

Zealot sheathed the word with a quick and silent motion, placing the sword sheath on his back. He replaced his dagger in a hidden sheath on his cloak, taking off in an energetic sprint towards the large city in the distance.

-------------------------------------------------------------
" Gorron construction. Blessed by the royal family. This is a knight's blade. Very valuable weapon. I cannot take this off your hands Zealot. "

" Saying no to me is very unwise Fox."

" Messing with these kinds of weapons Zealot. I'm not willing to cross the royal family for anyone not even you Zealot. They have powerful contacts, who can track those swords and punish those who have taken them."

Zealot grabbed the elderly gentleman by the collar of his tunic holding him close to his face.

" I am well aware of this Fox. That's exactly what I want them to do. A opponent is always at his weakest when he thinks he has the upper hand. Once I am done with that pathetic castle I'll be back and I expect a price tag when I do. Try not to force my hand Fox."

Zealot threw Fox back a few feet , his eyes speaking volumes of his mood. Zealot stuck to the shadows of the alley's in castle town. Having left his contact Fox on the far east side he snatched a few purses along the way, '"bonus pay" as he called it. He eyed a few people as he moved about, wary of detection. Though he was a master of blending in, there was always the chance some nobody peasant with no real future would get lucky and notice a detail.

He moved quickly though the market place, spotting a random Zora playing a lute with a flower cart. He eyed the flowers at a distance disappointed when none of them were of use as poisons. The castle was now in his sights, and he moved with a keen purpose, finding a path to the castle out of view of others in the area. Once he was satisfied that he was unobserved, he pulled out two rather nasty looking spikes and placed a sturdy hand on each. With a quick stabbing motion he would plunge them into the mortar of the castle wall and began his ascent in this fashion. In a minute he was at the top, taking this time to hide in the shadows of the the east tower as a few guards patrolled past him.

" Showtime."

The red haired Hylian may have been quick from her years of of chasing after the goats, but she was no where near as quick as the man that had caught her eye. She had just entered the outer gate of the castle when she caught another quick glimpse of the man as he ducked into the shadows atop one of the towers. Where were those flimsy guards when they were needed...? She spotted a small round stone that had been fragmented from the wall of the castle from the man's style of ascent. Caelrea picked it up and tossed it in her hand, feeling its weight. Nodding, she whipped out her slingshot and took aim. Part of her was not expecting the rock to hit the man, but if it would distract him from whatever he was after, or if it would draw the attention of the useless guards, it would serve its purpose. She pulled the pouch as far back as it would go, slipping the rock inside. Letting out a slow breath, she released the shot.

The rock ricocheted off the roof of the tower, just a meter or so from where Zealot hid...

A few of the guards near where the rock had hit halted in their patrol, looking around and trying to figure out what had caused the 'tink'ing noise. When they could not figure it out, they resumed their patrol, there senses and alert heightened.

Meanwhile, back at the front entrance of the castle, Caelrea grinned and chuckled to herself, her childish side wondering how much trouble she and the one she had followed could get in if she kept pelting that tower with the little bits of rubble that were scattered around. Her mischievous thought was short lived as a couple guards spotted her and made their way towards her.

"Miss. You're not apposed to be 'ere. I'll let yah off wif a warning this time. Go on, now. Back outside wif yah." He shooed her off. Or at least tried to...

"...Some guard of the royal family you are. If you had any balls you would've arrested me. Or better yet, you would've noticed a sneak..." She chuckled and scooped up a slightly larger chunk of rubble. She made like she was going to shoot the guard but at the last second, she let the shot off aiming at the roof of the East Tower. It hit with a much louder TINK and (unbeknown to Caelrea) was a bit closer to where Zealot hid.

"Alright, Miss, I tried to warn yah." He and his buddy approached her, as if to arrest her.

Thurinion tailed the girl for quite a ways until he noticed she was heading towards the Castle. He blinked to himself as he thought, 'What in the heck..? Why would she be going there..? She certainly doesn't look like she belongs there..'' He followed her, a tight grip on the sword at his waist. He saw her shoot a few rocks at the castle and once more thought to himself, '...What the heck?' Then when the guards came up and asked her to leave, he made sure his hiding spot was well hidden. It seemed like at first they were going to let her go, but then she shot another rock at the castle. Thurinion shook his head and decided to intervene when they appeared to be trying to arrest her. "There you are! I've been looking for you everywhere!" He said as he approached them, speaking to the girl. "What do you think you are doing here disturbing these guards from their job??" He asked with feigned enthusiasm. Looking to the guards he began apologizing. "Sorry sirs. She is an employee of mine and has wandered off, making her very late for her shift. Perhaps you could let her go with just a warning this time? I can ensure you that I will make sure she receives the proper pay cut to make amends for this situation." He pleaded.

Zealot maintained his position as the two rocks pelted the side of tower near him.

' Who in the h*** is doing that!?'

He kept his cool wondering what the issue was, taking a quick peak over the edge to observe the situation. Upon seeing the young girl seemingly causing trouble as children often did, he shook his head.

' Kids.'

Without a second thought he continued on his way moving past the guards and into the balcony area of the castle. A few of the higher ranking guards passed by, but paid him no mind. Zealot spent a few minutes observing the guards patterns and servants patterns overhearing a conversation between a guard and a lower ranking servant.

" Modecain please be careful your task to clean the royal quarters is no easy task,. Take care and be thorough."

" By the queens command sir knight it will be done."

' Hmm. The wolf moves among the sheep..."

Zealot tailed the servant for some time, and after a moment took the servant by surprise thrusting his dagger in the servants 4th lumbar, death instantaneous. He dragged the body off to a closet, changing into the servants clothes.

' Time to move in.'

Inside the castle, none seemed the wiser to Zealot's presence. A few of the servants sent questioning looks his way, but said nothing, assuming him to be new work. As he made his way to the destination, he passed a couple of the older females gossiping about something...

"The Prince has wandered out of the castle on his own again, hm?" the older of the asked, picking up some freshly cleaned laundry she had dropped.

"Mhm. I hear he sneaks off to find himself a woman, and I ain't talkin' bout the marryin' type."

"Shhhshhh. Aereen might be close..."

To Zealot's knowledge, Aereen was one of the high advisers to the king.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile, back at the castle gates...
Caelrea gave the Zora boy a very confused and questioning look. When she looked back to see the guards about to arrest her, she understood. She offered the best sheepish and nervous grin she could muster.
"Sorry, boss... It's just, one of my friends from the west side of town offered me an orange rupee if I could get myself arrested... Now that I think about it, dunno how I'd get it if I did..." She rubbed the back of her head, trying her best to act as a kid, even though she was on the threshold of adulthood.
Slowly, the guards relented and motioned for them to leave.
Once the red head and Zora were beyond the main gates of the castle and back in the center of town, Caelrea turned and looked up at the tower she had been shooting the rubble at, a look of agitation crossing her face. After a moment, the negative look faded and she looked at the Zora. "Thanks..."
