When I show the clothes I like to my mom, she laughs about how odd it looks and tells me how stupid I would look wearing it around here. I love Japanese fashion, because they are so.. out there with it.
Mori Girl = Forest Girl
Lolita = Poofy, Pink, High Heels, Curled Hair
Visual Kei = Black, Spiked hair, Makeup, Chains
I dunno.
Do you ever feel like an outcast because of your certain taste?

Well, I always wear Lolita-esque things for that reason. i would never go out in full out Lolita or Mori because I would be way to self conscious. I would always wear a toned down version of it though.

I could less about being an outcast. What I dislike is when someone things I am younger than I am... I never liked being grouped in with high schoolers.

My style choices have never really been trendy (and I've gone through a lot of them over the years), so it's never bothered me. I wear what I like, what makes me feel good, and I think that is the key.
When you exude confidence, it doesn't matter very much what you wear. People are drawn to confidence naturally, so it's the best accessory you can have really~ xD
I'll agree with manda though; One thing that bothers me most is being mistaken for being younger. I'm short and don't wear much makeup often, so it's easy to mistake me for a teen based on looks alone. This is part of why I have admired but never got too into styles like decora or sweet lolita. > n<;

Hm... well I've almost always felt like an outcast, ever since I started school, I probably still do, but I've just stopped noticing and caring by now, so I kinda wear whatever I want really.
If people don't like that, it's not my problem, I won't force people to accept me, so yeah...
I don't care if people think what I wear is over the top, as long as it's comfortable and I like wearing it, it's no problem to me biggrin
But on another note, people here find it easier to accept Mori Girl than Gothic Lolita and Visual Kei

Haha, yeah my mom says lolita makes me look like I just have a huge a**. I don't normally mind, but sometimes it'll make me self-conscious about the attention it draws unexpectedly when I'm out somewhere.
edited to add: Also, even though several people already said it, I was a social outcast for a long time growing up. Had to do with me not knowing how to act and being annoying mostly (I have a tiny bit of autism). Now I'm much happier not worrying about whether I'm acting super "normal" or whether I'm going to be liked. I have a lot more friends now, too.
For me at least, I've found that wearing interesting stuff kind of draws people to me for conversations. I've met some interesting people that way!
That said, I wear very normal clothes to school. I go to massage school, and there are 14 people in my classes. I don't want them to think I'm unprofessional or anything.

It sounds like we're all a bunch of misfits! xD
I've found that even when I wear relatively normal clothing (how more plain can it get than the jeans+tee+hoodie combo?) I still get people staring at me. Even as they drive by in cars! It's sort of ridiculous. And I've just gotten used to it.

Well, I totally went out at my hangout in a total... "goth" putfit yuesterday, and I got a lot of stares, as well as compliments. I wish I had taken a picture, but I forgot. I'll just describe it:

Mini Top hat
Lacy glove thingies
Black tutu
Mushroom pendant
Jeans
Uggs (i had no other bo ots)

my mom is always helpful when we go clothes shopping. She also thinks lolita and mori is cute! But wearing it at school? Not a chance! i know that sounds mean but.......i just don't want to be laughed at! thats why i wear some stuff at school.
