He'd had enough. One too many insults about his pelt color, was just one too many. Didn't they know it hurt his feelings to be called a girl because he was pink? "How would you like it if I called you a sissy," he questions out loud as he ambled on.
He wanted to be a knight, like what Tsis'Newadi talked about. Her stories were full of those, the hero always saving the day. They probably were never called a girl. They were respected and looked up to in the tales. Everyone knew them! No way were they ever insulted. "Except by the bad guy because they are always so nasty, of course."He didn't notice, as he continued to mutter to himself dejectedly, that he was crossing the line between Unega'Gohunvhi and Islagiatt's herds. Which would have been a terrible mistake if Ever Sacrifice hadn't forged an alliance. No, his mind was back on the story 'Adi had told just last night.
The hero was facing a Dragon kalona. He dodged, he parried, he rolled out from the fire. Pretty soon, Royce was so caught up in his own imagination, he was enacting the knight's moves as he saw it. Bits of leaves were sticking all over his body, giving him quite a rumpled look. "I smote thee, foul beast!" He charged forward, unaware of his surroundings.
