The Entrance to the building is a number of elevators that go in a multitude of directions by placing codes you can gain access to different rooms, or typing the room into the wall of the elevators will bring you to such a room.

The main building of the R&D institute, full of all forms of strange chemical creations and varying rooms One could get lost in here rather easily. The rooms are all underground from the giant smokestacks that fume in soul society. For all the work they do here, no one has figured out a way to get rid of the outpour of chemicals, or it could just be that they don't care.

With so many rooms, and so many different things to find and do in here, its almost impossible to describe any one room, and it would take too long to describe all the rooms.

-Science Labs
Basic labs that look almost like your high school science class, White tables, white lab coats on the wall, beakers and appliances all across the room.

-Advanced Labs
Each lab with its own individual reason for existing, the MRI machine would be in one of these to study the human body, A room that focuses on brain scanners, and another that focuses on the force and trajectory of the foot when it makes contact with the ground. These rooms are as random as they are complex.

Ever see the show imagniation movers? Think of that, theirs a room for everything, and you have no idea what the heck is going on half the time.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Clarification: -Added Sunday April 25th-

The R&D institute is not a place people who are not seated 12th squad members can easily get around. It is damn near impossible to find anything. The Elevators are their to deter people from even trying, if you don't know the right code you do not gain admittance to the lab, the labs are off limits to all people who are not scientists. In much the same way a 4 star general isn't allowed to walk into a room where doctors are performing surgery, the pecking order gets really weird underneath here where higher and lower ranks mean a hell of a lot less than where you stand in the science community.

Punching in the wrong number will cause the elevator to shut down, their are a million different tunnels and most of them lead you right back to where you started. Its a very big and annoying maze meaning no one should try to get in without permission.

Cameras are everywhere, The second you entered the 12th squad, ten different cameras had your angle, their big, small noticeable and unnoticeable. If they're destroyed or they loose sight of you, more will come, The walls of the R&D institute are a metal square pattern, each of these is ether a compartment, or some form of television screen to look at the cameras. (unless otherwise specified by a person when they enter the room)

Their is an AI system that controls the entire place, she has full control of the environment and can lock you out at any point in time, The AI was programmed and designed by Charles and responds to positional hierarchy among the R&D members, not the gotei 13. Captain of the 10th squad? doesn't care, do you have two doctorate and and PHD in something other than child physiology? than maybe she'll let you in.

The Computer Systems do not appear in every room, the first hundred+ floors of the R&D institute are nothing more than basic rooms connected together through basic servers in a Ring Topology, This means that they are all connected to each other, and share files only with each other. None are allowed access to the main servers of the twelfth squad.

Moving down further underground you get to the "Top Labs" specific labs where specific things are done, aka the good part of the R&D institute. Each room in here is connected via a Star topology, so they connect to a central server inside of the room. That central server is than connected through Star Topologies to more servers, and so on and so forth until you reach the main server.

The lowest number of Star topologies is 17, though the average is about 182. Meaning you need to at minimum break through 17 high process servers without getting caught to get to the main server. These Main Servers linking together are not in rooms of their own, they are buried around pounds of dirt, and have no way of accessing them if a hardware malfunction happens. These systems are maintained by very small spider sized machines to ensure they are working properly. These machines are self sufficient and as such cannot be controlled by an outside source, they emit faint wireless frequencies that reach no further than the confined space that they are already in.

Each Computer has a password protection to get into the desktop, personal passwords are used to get through this, meaning that each person has their own password, and a hundred people could be on the computer, so you may only be able to access the password of someone who has severely limited access. or you may find your way in using a password that has been planted on the computer for such occasions as fishing. if one of these is used the system will shut down right away. disconnecting its power and activating an electro magnet to make the terminal worthless.

Beyond this level in order to access anything server wide their is a password that changes every 7 seconds, it is a password that is comprised of several random numbers linked together, It is based on a time algorithm, so as long as someone knows that algorithm and they know what time it is then they should know the number rather easily. However those who do not will not be able to input it. This becomes exceedingly tricky in some areas where the links to the network are fewer because these are often located in 'high grav' areas where the gravity field of the room has been forcibly increased so that time moves slower allowing more work to get done in what appears to be very little time at all.

Any Decent bit of information is guarded, The Bios of every computer is protected by prime number encryption keys making it impossible to change the configurations of the computer. In order to access the server language running in the background such as DoS or SQL in order to search through the computers files and documents, you are required to scan your thumb on the keyboards.

Each keyboard has a small thumb scanner in its top right corner, it looks like a brown pad. That is because this can also be used as a mouse to maneuver around. Why is it asking for a thumb scanner? because anyone who knows how to use the system is able to get here without going into the underlaying components of the system.

The Cameras in the room are monitoring and keeping track of everything for database reasons, along with a few others, these records are kept in the vault. and protected by a code comprised of 26 prime numbers, each ranging from 100-200 characters in length.

This much power requires a large amount of electricity, and this comes from a gravimetric core underneath most of the R&D institute except for a few rooms this is as far down as it goes. The core rotates around at a high rate of speed creating momentum that can then be changed into electrical energy.

This is a brief description of some of the layers of the 12th squad, However the majority of this information is given only to the 12th squad's top men and women on a need to know basis. anyone outside of the squad would not have any idea how the R&D institute is set up, where they might find passwords etc.

If you were looking to break into the twelfth squad's files the best way of doing so would be the gate to the living world, where a small stand alone outpost guarded by roughly five men have a direct connection to the monitoring censors, however you would still need to bypass 18 servers, and one server who's entire purpose is relay and protection of unwarranted access before you could get through, each with the defenses stated above.

Charles walked into a large doorway that opened up as he approached it, the two metal doors slid away from each other and he entered the elevator. As he turned around the door closed, looking to the right side of the door at the number pad, resting on the wall above the keyboard. As he moved in he pressed three numbers Three Three Five "Kido Lab" he said having activated the audio recognition system. "Moving to the Kido Lab" a female voice came over the speakers.

At once the Elevator rushed around moving up down, left and right for a few moments. As it moved Charles talked to his AI "Theirs a Shinigami coming here, please send the next unrecognizable person to this lab once they enter the elevator". Finally the motion stopped and the doors opened "If; Unknown Shinigami Enters Elevator, Send to Kido Lab. Loop Once." the voice said setting the information in a more understandable order. "Thats exactly it" Charles said walking out of the elevator, the doors closing behind him.

This was a large empty metal room, something like an aircraft hanger without an open wall for the aircraft to come in. The Wall was designed with Metallic tiles all across the wall in random orders. Charles took a large stretch and thought to himself that it was time to get started.User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Some time had gone by now, and Charles had began working, opening up slabs of the wall to retrieve his equipment he had gotten to work on the initial gate using the Dangai. The outter layer and basic nature of it had been created by this point, it was rather simple to do, but perfecting it so that nothing bad happened would take some more time. He made it black and in his own style, it was more of a prototype after all, he hadn't looked too much into the specifications on the sheets of paper, seeing as he was the lead scientific mind on soul society he thought other persons designs would only have flaws.

"Well that should do for the time being... now to make gravity my slave." he chuckled to himself walking away from the twenty foot gate to a smaller area. Unlike the gate this item would be much smaller and used to power a gate. But this was going to be the difficult part... 'i wonder when that reaper is supposed to be showing up to give me a hand.' Charles thought working on a small table on a very small metallic appliance with a few boxes containing seriously powerful magnets.

"That should do for now" Charles said, pulling back the small piece of equipment he had just created, holding it in the palm of his hand. "Theirs almost a 60% chance i'll completely warp myself into a different time stream with a 2% variance using this right now...That seems a little interesting to me.." he held it their in his palm thinking if he should use it or not just from sheer curiosity.

Placing it in a zipper bag, along with a few other small objects that he would use as transceivers in the living world to determine exactly where the gate would end up. Walking over to the doorway he slapped a note pad on the side of it and spoke the chant to unleash the magic to open it. In between the two posts a shinning light appeared and Charles wandered through it, His Zanpaktou releasing into its shikai state, the sword and sheath vanishing and the green light surrounding his body to protect it from the world of the Dangai that had not been cleaned in many years.

Charles Walked once again through the gate the green aura re-forming into a sword by his waste, a little spirit dog walked through along side him, his Zanpaktou spirit. A Small three dimensional pacman was in his right hand the object was able to be held perfectly in his hand, and Emmit a strange glow. "Well now that its clean it shouldn't be a problem, but i need to set up a constant cleaning apparatus..." Charles said to himself as he pressed a button closing the ball.

"This much energy is crazy." he said walking towards a locked wall plate opening it up with his kido resonance. The ball was placed inside it and the wall was closed up again. 'that will be a good item to screw around with later.' Charles thought sitting down at a table flipping over the bag on his back and put it on his work area. sliding out the small object he had been working on earlier, using the small thin strings from his wrist-mounted bracer along with the double Thrust hado he had created to move it with a millimeter of perfection, moving the magnets and adjusting the creation every so slightly until the end result was achieved.

Sliding the finalized product into a pocket watch object with three tickers in the adjuster for dimension, longitude and latitude. all displayed with different sized watch hands and a large amount of numbers around the clock. Closing the object and twirling it around on its chain before putting it into the pocket of his white Captain's robe tailored as a lab coat. He than walked over to a wall slate and pressed it in the bottom left, the metal tile slid down behind the wall and a monitor appeared. "Head Captain" Charles spoke into the machine, the letters H-E-A-D- C-A-P-T-A-I-N showed up on the screen, and a number of images flashed by with boxes focusing on the screen attempting to identify the head captain's face from the cameras Charles had monitoring soul society. "Squad One, The Kido Corps Training Grounds... Thank you Computer" He said before Flash stepping off away from the Institute.User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Seriously Now, what a beast of a thing, an assassination, of such a high ranked person, 'damn demons... damn blasted demons..' Charles thought as he walked into one of the elevators, spamming his fingers along the access keys before the door even closed. the Elevator shot around with its open doorway as they tried to slowly close well the elevator rushed around from left to right and up and down. Stopping with a splash, right as the doors closed it shook violently for a second before the calm hit. A chime went off and the doors moved open.

Charles walked into the room full of computers, and a vast machine along with a set of machines used to create other machines, small items large all the same, their was a vast display monitor in the background. that showed in large letters "Complete". Charles walked over to the end of the production lines and picked up a small black handheld device. "Alright, Lets connect" he said rotating around one of the control pads on the side An alert was stated on the side as he accessed the alert message. The middle school seemed to have a target. Clicking around a little more he accessed the data files for the living world sensors.

UnitNo.01 - Nameless
Pressure: Captain-Level [514] Error Differential 100
Stability: High
General Info: Temperature reductions were recorded within the area of the battle.
Possibility; Zanpaktou Element Ice.

UnitNo.02 - Nameless
Pressure: Captain-Level [300] Error Differential 500
Stability: Low
General Info: Unknown Instance.

UnitNo.03 - Nameless
Pressure: Captain-Level [100] Error Differential 600
Stability: Calculating
General Info: Heartless. Instance Lacking Data Verification

"so... its like this.." Charles said looking down, the Error Differential was too vast for the last two, but that first one had captains level of power, 'it must have been the one that He fought off' Charles thought bluntly looking around on the screen to see another blue dot "This signature is.. Ryuta.. hmm than i should send ryan to assist" he said aloud activating a display screen and contacting his 23rd seat informing him of how it stood. Requesting that the man headed to the living world to determine what was going on.User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Raijin catch one of the elevators and quickly it moved to the left, then to the right, up and down to reach to a hallway with two huge metal doors in front of him. He walked towards those doors already sensing someone’s reiatsu inside of it, his Captain reiatsu. He landed his ears on the code register machine and within some seconds he was already dating the right numbers. The doors opened to show a room full of computers and a large set of different producing machines. Raijin looked to all that with interest. “Hello Captain.” He said walking towards him. He balanced his body with a strange movement, almost as a drunk man, as he watched all the machines. It took one simple look to know what single machine was doing there. He made a device to study the reiatsu he could catch from the Living World…pretty good Raijin thought as he landed his hand on his sheathed zanpakutou, nor for necessity, it was only an habit.

While waiting for his Captain to notice him he grabbed a simple piece of technology that was near him, lost under all the other things. It seemed like a unusable reduced laptop from the Living World. He grabbed it and started to change some pieces here, other there…as he waited.

Charles Continued to move the gadjet in his hands around rotating the controls and clicking down "Damn it kid, call me Charles, or something" He spoke down to his PSID device searching through all sorts of data files, and production jobs he had going on through several different laboratories. 'Yeah, if what boss said is true i need an army... i will make an army...' his voice echoed in his head as he tapped on the screen.

Not even turning around to officially great his second in command, he had a very serious task to gather and accomplish, too many things were going on, and their wasn't a lot of information for reliable identification information. The Communication Technology Research Department needs to set up a system to contact the leaders of each squad. And an Implosive Personal Senkaimon... just encase he had to use that.User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Raijin didn’t notice that his Captain wasn’t noticing him. He was too absorbed with the laptop. He was working on that for some time now and it had a completely different look. He had remodeled everything so the laptop could be useful again. Now the laptop was able to read reiatsu waves but first he would have to put some receivers all over Soul Society so it could transmit to that laptop. That was Raijin would always know if someone was fighting and at the same time study that fight.

When he finished it he looked to his Captain, he was busy so he didn’t want to bother him. “I’m going to get some corpses to study their anatomies. I need to discover how to make people breath without lungs” he said as he got up. His next experiment would be to make possible for someone to breath without using their lungs which, for example, in a poison based attack would be very useful since the poison wouldn’t enter to the body through the lungs and all the connections made in that specific localization.

Raijin grabbed the laptop and some receivers in order to take them with him and he headed to the elevators. He pressed a five digit code and the elevator did its trajectory towards the specific room. The room had several naked bodies above large white and sterilized tables. Raijin headed to the one in the middle. It was a middle aged man with brown hair and dark skin. He grabbed the scalpel and made a deep cut on the men’s chest. After he had finished the cut he opened the man in half with his marble white hands. He stayed there analyzing the corpse and specially the lungs of the men. “Oh…a smoker…” he said to himself when he saw parts of the lungs with a black/grey color. He lost some time analyzing all the man body to see if everything was ok…

Waving half heartedly as he clicked away at the little handheld Charles figured it would take some time... "I Guess, i should make a report.. though i hate the damn paperwork" He said clicking on a two-way display to the room his vice captain Raijin had just entered, the monitor would appear over top of him on the ceiling

"Hey I've been having some problems with my wet-ware project, do you think you could try to create some form of an organic life that connects to wi-fi?" Charles spoke through the monitor down over the head of Raijin, it wasn't a simple task to create an organism that produced radio waves, the best place to start would be examining nature for clues. Bats, and Dolphins use sonar so dissecting them might be of some help. But they use acoustic recievers in the ears, that wasn't really what charles was looking for.. He wanted to connect his brain to the 12th squad computer systems, and use his eyes as internal displays, not something that could be easily accomplished.

All the while well Charles was talking he had been typing out an email to be sent to the first squad via a messenger from the 12th squad's Living World Monitor station, It was worded in such a way that it stated to be sent to the captain himself, not necessarily the first squad's desk, so of course some form of misunderstanding may have ensued.User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Raijin heard the monitor turning on as his Captain’s voice and face appeared in the room.

He left the man’s opened body and with a kidney on his left hand he went towards the screen so he could better see his Captain. “Well…a form of an organic life that connects to wi-fi…” he repeated this some times while thinking. “That may be a very difficult thing to do but…” he said as he approached the man’s body again, now he stopped right next to his head. He launched the kidney towards the big hole that was the man’s belly and grabbed a scalpel once more. He opened the brain with easy and started to look and to study the man’s brain. “Interesting…” he said without any other word. “I think that, maybe with the help of healthy brain tissues, I am able to connect the nervous transmitions in order to make them produce some power. Of course it wouldn’t have the same effect as a lightning bolt and of course, that brain would have to be submitted to powerful discharges of electricity from month to month or even from week to week” he said. The best thing to create radio waves was a thunderstorm and if he managed to do a thunderstorm inside a healthy brain maybe it would work. “Also if it is implanted in a person that person should have high levels of reiatsu, maybe the reiatsu itself could be used to recharge the necessary radio waves to create the wi-fi connection. Just an idea that needs a lot of work…” he added yawning at the same time.

He had been working for too long on that body but now the man’s brain was interesting him.

Charles looked though the monitor, of course it was so damn simple, how could he have not thought of it himself... Charles had always looked at it as though he had to create his own system in order to understand the interface itself. "Thats Genius, if we use the brain and bodies electrical systems we can refer to it and set it up just like a computer, using an electrical pulse going through as a one, and a lack their of as a zero, creating binary language!" He spoke with excitement remembering the first time he had to relay binary electrical signals to a computer output, It was a very poorly rigged setup and he had to re-wire it twice, but it worked in the end, and thats all that mattered.

"Though The Electrical input from the wireless network might disturb the brain's electrical pulses towards the body..." Charles pondered if the two overlapped it would force serious trauma and brain damage that would never escape. "We'll work on it soon, i need to see to a few other tasks first..." He said thinking about the situation at hand. The death that shook him even now, not with fear, or anger, but with concern. 'This science... it gets by blood boiling...' Charles Smirked at the thought of what he and Raijin could accomplish. Never pigeon hole yourself, if it can be imagined, it can be created. User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Raijin was happy to help his Captain and he didn’t say anything more. He looked to the brain of the man one more time. “If we add more electricity to the brain, from an outside source, the electrical input from the wireless network wouldn’t affect so much the brain-body communication. Or if the person or being has a high reiatsu level he may be able to separate both electrical ways in order not to get his organism traumatized or worked out. The theory seems pretty simple but, as always, the practice is so much difficult." The laziness was taking its path over Raijin’s body right now. He landed the scalpel and went towards the nearest chair and looked to the monitor.

After some time thinking Raijin said “We can also create an external source of power….”. He yawned again, not because he didn’t like the conversation, in matter of fact he was loving it. “All this is too risky but it is also so exciting…”

"Alright, i'm going off the grid now, i'll catch up with you in a little while, if you're tired get some rest. Lord knows i sleep more than one should." Charles said disconnecting the video link between the two and walking up to the elevator shaft. Waiting for another elevator to arrive. 'I need a way to connect to all the captains...perhaps a small pin on their robes.. we can customize the system later... ' he thought stepping into the newly arrived elevator and allowing the doors to close slowly.

It was time to take over the world... but to say such a thing out loud sounded downright evil.. perhaps it was time to re-take the world. The PSID interfaced wirelessly with the elevator controls and with a rotation of his thumb Charles selected the numbering pattern he wanted, a thirty six digit prime number. And in a flash the Elevator seemed to disconnect from the server, from the wall, and just plummet to the ground as though it was falling to its death, safety locks disengaged, deeper and deeper it fell into the dark abyss of the elevator shaft. Raijin nodded to his Captain when he got off from the monitor. Raijin looked once more to the dissected man in front of him but he couldn’t move right now. The only thing he did was to balance the chair where he was sat towards the nearest couch of the room. Then he launched himself with a simple and not strong jump to that same couch. Immediately he felt a sleep. “I think I should train…” he said with his eyes closing…

A ripple in space soon appeared silently in the research and development institute. It slowly gaped open taking the form of the infamous boundaries of Yukari Saigyouji. Speaking of whom, Yukari was the first to exit, scanning her eyes to make sure they entered the right place. She smiled with satisfaction, she hadn't been in Squad 12 in so long she almost forgot where everything was. She looked at the giant database computer before them and held out her arm to showcase it. She made sure to speak very low to not make their presence very noticeable. "Well, here it is. Now we need to hurry and make this quick. Make sure to get EVERYTHING there is related to Kido and then erase the system when you're done. After that we'll blow this place up, I'll drop you off in Hueco Mundo, and then I'll get some very important books."
