Mikhail slowly walked down a path... or more like an area that was highly traveled by other animals. He kicked a rock along as he did this, keeping himself occupied in some way. When he accidentally kicked the rock too far and off the path, he sighed to himself, shaking his head. Upon that, he stopped and looked around, wondering if there was anything else around to keep him occupied while his father was out on another 'mare run'.
"And the flowers bloom as the sun goes up," Cabriole sang to himself as he trotted aimlessly around the forest, making sure to keep close to where his family was so that he wouldn't get lost. Although his voice was rather pleasent, the colt was blissfully unaware of the fact that he was in fact, tone deaf. Although he was singing in his mind, the truth was that the tone and melody of what he just sung sounded more like a regular sentence rather than the lyrics of a song. As he ducked under a low branch, the colt realized that there was someone else up and about - how else would that rock nearby be rolling towards him?
"Hello?" He called out curiously as he trotted to the now stationary rock. At the sight of a dark colored colt on the path worn down by several animals, he smiled, trotting towards the other.
Mikhail wasn't aware of anyone nearby as he stood there, still wondering what he would do. Hearing the greeting caused him to jump and look around, but he didn't see anyone... at first. Soon enough, he spotted motion in the grass. As usual, that twisting feeling he usually got when he got nervous started happening in his stomach. Slowly, he started backing away from the one approaching him, typical thoughts running through his head. 'What if they see me?', 'Would they find me scary', 'If they do, would they run?'. It was almost an every day thing with the colt.
"Hello?" Cabriole called out again; it would seem that the other colt was not replying... Frowning, the male picked up speed and when he was close enough, he realized that the stranger had quite the interesting pelt and that... Hewas actually backing away from him? Cabriole blinked at the colt's actions; perhaps he was just shy? Giving his friendliest smile, he halted a small distance away, determined not to let the dark pelted colt feel uncomfortable, "Hello, I'm Cabriole Amachi, but please, call me Cabriole."
Being caught, the dark colt stopped in his tracks. His ears were flattened against his head some as he looked up to the other colt. At his greeting, he pawed at the ground softly, remaining silent. Well, he didn't seem to be afraid or showing signs of running away... so it wasn't so bad. "... H-hello. I'm Mikhail."
"Mikhail, nice to meet you!" Cabriole nodded happily, flashing the colt a grin. He was glad for some company his own age that are not one of his siblings; seems like all he had been running into nowadays are adults and more adults. It was a nice change for sure! Pausing, he looked around before turning back to Mikhail, curiousity lacing his voice, "Why were you moving away from me just now?"
"I-it's nice to meet you too Cabriole." He replied softly, tail giving a soft flick. As the other colt grinned at him, his ears slowly started to perk again. This wasn't so bad, so far. The question though, caused him to look away shyly. "W-well... it's hard to explain. I-I guess... I guess I was afraid you would be afraid of me."
Did he say something wrong? The colt blinked at his new friend looked away, but chuckled at his comment, "Why would I be afraid of you? Its not like you're a meat-eater!" He nodded, agreeing with himself before trotting a little to look at Mikhail's face, "Speaking of which, do you want to go grab a bite? I saw this really nice looking berry bush on my way here! I bet the fruits are all ripe and juicy!"
"Because I look like a walking skeleton." He answered, ears flattening just a bit again. His eyes widened when he soon saw the other colt in front of him, having missed him trotting over. When the other colt offered food, he nodded softly. "Th-that sounds good."
"Really? I find that interesting," Cabriole answered truthfully; in his mind, nothing is scary unless its trying to hurt him, eat him or all of the above. Besides, Mikhail seems like a really nice colt... There was no need to be afraid of him. Grinning at the colt's reply, he straightened up and trotted back the way he came before half turning, "Come on! Hopefully nobody else found the berry bush yet!"
Red eyes went slightly wide at Cambriole's 'confession'. It was interesting, his fur was actually interesting?! Maybe he wasn't that scary after all, but he still didn't fully believe that. He just nodded and took a step to follow after the other colt. "Lead the way."
The colt took off, galloping into the forest, taking extra care not to trip over anything like he usually would when travelling at fast speeds. As he neared the berry bush, the colt turned his head in an attempt to face Mikhail, "We're he-" With his attention divided, Cabriole quickly found himself tripping over the root of a tree near their destination before rolling a short distance into the bush on his back. As he did, what appeared to him as thousands of leaves, twigs and berries came crashing down on him and he squealed, closing his eyes as he flailed, resulting in more plant parts falling on him. By the time he realized that flailing was a bad, bad idea, he was already covered with sticky berry juice, leaves and twigs. There was even some tangled up in his mane and tail.
Turning a deep red, he wiggled as he tried to get up as he called out, "In my defense, that tree root was covered with leaves!"
Mikhail trotted after Cabriole, though soon found himself having to sprint after him when he got too far ahead. He smiled when the other colt turned to tell him that they arrived at their destination, but soon blinked when he saw him trip and stumbled into the bush. Slowly, he came to a stop, being careful of the root himself. Walking to the other colt after he was done flailing about and covering himself in leaves, twigs and berries, he looked down to him... worry on his face. He didn't care if the other saw the root or not, he just asked. "A-are you okay?!"
"I'm alright... Um, thank you for asking..." Cabriole replied, looking away out of embarressment at his accident; unlike what his siblings would have done, that is to laugh at him, the other colt was actually worried. It was a nice feeling. However, as he wiggled about, trying to get out of the bush, he realized that he was stuck, very much like a tortoise on its back. Since he was unable to move his head properly, he was sure that some of the branches were tangled up with his mane. Turning to Mikhail again, he muttered, "Although I think I'll need some help getting up... Mind giving me a push from the back?"
