Eeva had told her that the world outside of these lands could be dangerous and Laka agreed. Her sister was right and she hadn't been made Clan Leader for nothing. No, the younger sibling was not about to go bounding out into the wilds all alone. That would be lonely...and stupid, and her parents would never allow that to happen. Her mother might have been from the outside world, but her father was not and her father was afraid of it.
Even still, it didn't keep Laka from dreaming about it and her dreams had starting a somewhat dangerous habit of parading around the borders of the pridelands, looking wistfully out across the horizon to where the sun touched the lands with gold.
Yes, home was home and always would be. She'd never leave for any long period of time. A couple of weeks, tops, but she wanted to see it. Just once. Was that so much to ask?
She paused to drink from a babbling stream, slaking her thirst before stepping into the frothing, chattering waters to make her way across. Tiny bodies of darting fish streaked fire-white beneath the sun, briefly distracting her from her thoughts. Yes, Laka was young and impressionable, but she wanted just what any other child would. A chance for adventure before the responsibility of adulthood took hold.

Sanjit was bored. He hated to admit it, because when he admitted it, it meant he needed to do something about it. He wasn't a very patient soul and after so many days of tedium and repetition, it begins to wear on one.
So rather than sit and mope or try to come up with some grand scheme of what to do, he wandered off in a different direction than usual. It was a gamble, yes, because this direction may hold nothing new of interest. However, it was better than having someone come up and rope him into more tedium.
At least he was alone this way. He could handle boring over having to deal with obnoxious company any day. So off he wandered, if nothing else, enjoying the scenery. He did have an appreciation for beautiful surroundings.

Making her way out into the open, leaving behind the steam and the trees and the scents of her family, Laka wondered out towards the borders. Not just the borders of the Clan, but the borders of the pride collectively. She had never experienced true fear or danger, so she had no fear of the borders, not like her father. Besides, she passed by this way more often nowadays and she'd never, ever seen anyone.
No one but her.
Perhaps there really wasn't anything of much interest out there...or maybe it was all so amazing that no one ever bothered coming this way.
She sighed and was about to turn to continue onwards when she spotted movement. Something dark coming this way. But what...what was it? A lion? Another member or...or a rogue? An outsider! Her whole body tensed with anticipation and she leaned forwards almost as if trying to get a better look. And then, deciding she didn't want to wait any longer, she called out. "Um....Helllooooooo!! You there!! Wait up!!" And she bounded off towards the stranger.
