Between my friends and I, we have come to the conclusion of possibly one zombie survival plan. I have my own, but that is a last resort sort of thing.
Our Plan
Skills Aaron: Hardware and Vehicle Repair Jordan: Survival Tactics and Scouting T.J.: Technical Background and Survival Skills
In School Plan:
In the case the initial outbreak while we are still in school, we are going to grab our bags from our lockers, smash the vending machines open and grab all the food and drinks we can. Next, we break into the sports utility closet and grab what we think is best to defend ourselves. Finally, we make our way to Aaron's car to get to the outfitters on Clarence St.
When inside the outfitters, we grab what ammo, guns, and supplies we need. It would be best to grab a few hunting vests to hold a few shotgun shells on the breast holder for faster reloading. Next move would be to my house to grab the dust masks my brother has in his room, and my dad's hunting guns, ammo, and all non-perishable food items in the house. I have a few duffel bags for quick transport of food and ammo.
Our final stop in town is to the Food Basics on Main Street. We grab the non-perishable food items and load them into the weird shopping bags people ask for when in check-out.
Before or After School Plan:
In case of the initial outbreak before school or after, Jordan and I are going to call Aaron. The plan is to have Jordan and I meet at the outfitters on Clarence Street after looting what we can from our houses. Aaron will drive to the destination, while me and Jordan build a temporary barricade in the store and move to the second floor to look out for Aaron's car or truck, whatever he is going to drive. We throw our supplies in the vehicle and make our way back to my house to load up the gas powered generator in my garage, to save a trip back into town.
Finally, make our way to the Food Basics on Main Street, looting what we can and moving to our next destination.
After Escaping Town:
If we have acquired any added survivors at this point, it might be a good thing to get them to help. Once we have arrived back Aaron's house, we proceed with fortifying our position by barricading the house. It's a one floor house with a very spacious basement that has every room connecting. We turn Aaron's mom's photo studio in the basement of the house into an ops base. Once we know the house is devoid of zeds, we systematically check each house in Aaron's neighborhood. His neighborhood is basically a round-about, not a cauldisac(sp?), it's in the shape of a horse-shoe, in the middle of a rural community. We check for survivors and zeds, rescuing and killing.
Once we know it's safe, we get a group of about six to get supplies to start building a small outpost out of a few houses. We then start to plan how to get supplies each day and how to expand the outpost to include the surrounding houses in Aaron's neighborhood.
After Everything Is Sorted Out:
Once we get to the point we have the supplies to sustain life and managed to bring every house in Aaron's neighborhood into the outpost, we plan to turn the spacious field behind his house into a farming location to grow crops and raise live stock...if any are still living and we can secure them.
For the shotguns, Aaron knows how to make buckshot and refill spent shells so they can be used again. We would have to go out and find ammo for our guns anyways if we ever ran dry.
We plan on turning Aaron's truck into a type of gunner vehicle, but still keeping the back for loading supplies on. We send out groups of 3 or 4 to collect supplies and keep them in contact with each other and keep the lead of the group in contact with the ops. base.
Aaron thinks this is the ultimate plan. I have a back-up plan if he is dead or both him and Jordan are dead.
My Contingency Plan:
In the case of Aaron dieing, or both him and Jordan, I grab all the food I can from the house, my dad's shotguns and ammo, a few dust masks, my 4' lead pipe and take the family van, driving around until I find some sort of outpost or extraction to a better place then the wastelands.
In the case of the van breaking down or running out of gas, I am learning how to hot-wire a car to take the next thing I see and keep on the road, only stopping for supplies when I can and sleeping for short periods at a time. If I can't find an outpost or extraction, I'm going up north. Cold will eventually kill the zombies and I'm guessing I could find some kind of life up there.
You guys can add input if you want.

Criticizing is why we are here. C:
My questions:
What kind of "Gunner Vehicle" are we talking about here?
Also, what if the outbreak is near you and you don't have much time to do all of these things? You might want to plan a bigger group, like maybe four or five, depending on the severity of the outbreak, the type of infected, and the speed of the outbreak, as well as how close it already is to you. Because you know, if the outbreak starts in China, you're gonna be waiting for a long time. xD But I'm pretty sure you already know that.

Trust me, I have been planning since I played RE3. We used to have alot more people included in this plan, but they all decided nothing like this was going to happen, and we lost contact with them. There is only Aaron, Jordan and I left.
The gunner vehicle is something like...you know the mounted AK on the back of the humvee in RE5 Chris uses...it would be something like that. Aaron is planning on mounting a automatic in the cargo part of his truck. I haven't been to his house as of late, but he tells me he has the parts to do so, except the gun. Where are we supposed to secure a automatic rifle in Canada legally right now.
I also have a kit in my closet of basic things I might need incase of an outbreak. Once I get the right bag, I'll start carring it to school. It doesn't contain firearms or anything that is classified as a weapon. It only has first-aid suppiles, some cans of beans (which I have no idea is they expire or not, but I'm thinking of throwing them out.), and some bottles of water.
As for how far the infected are away from us...I would have to talk that over with Aaron. He holds "The Book of Survival", as I call it. All our plans are in it.

My concerns are about the weapons mostly. If one person tries to break into a gun store and take weapons and ammo, they get shot. If everyone has the same idea, they all get shot. I also don't see what is so important about automatic weapons. I can under stand if you are butting with a large horde and are trying to retreat, but a semi-automatic is far more accurate, reliable and it's easier to find. Though if you are hell bent on fully automatic, I know quite a number of people within a few miles of me who have AKs laying in their closets. But say you shoot all your problems away and set up base, what about electricity? Do you have candles, glow sticks or solar powered lamps? Even with say a fire light source you couldn't use it at night unless you draped every opening and stayed inside, or else you would be a beacon.

Okay, this plan is a great "Paper Plan." In other words, it looks good on paper. But when the time comes to enact it, it won't work. First thing is that when **it hits the fan, especially in disasters, gun stores and grocery stores are teh first to get hit by looters. And the roads will be death traps. If you don't get carjacked, trapped and killed, or die in a car crash, then you still have to deal with the mad rush of people and infedted by the stores. Why not stock up ahead of time? get your basement full of Twinkies (XD) and any canned good you can get your hands on. Also, you will need bottled water. And in your survival pack that you carry with you, carry enough supplies for 2 days. This means food, water, medical supplies, WATER PURIFICATION KIT!!!! Next comes teh issue of communication. Chances are that phone lines wil lbe down or busy, so walkie talkies used on a previously discussed channel wil lbe your best bet. Now, in the emergency pack you carry with you AFTER **it hits the fan, you will need the following: several flashlights, 3 changes of batteries for the flashlights, at least 3 days of food/water, water purification kit, batteries for your walkie talkies, compass, binoculars, gogles/paintball masks or something to cover your eyes/face, and a change of clothes including undergarments, pants, shirt, shoes, and socks. This basic and easy to make 72 hour pack should be kept either in your car when you drive or by an easily accessible exit/area of your house, so you can just grab it and run.
But yeah, if you have any plans regarding roads, major cities, or going into decently populated areas, chances of survival aren't great. If you say you have access to a truck, go offroad. You won't be limited to the roads and it's many obstacles. But, you have to make sure you have an escape route offroad, as well as THREE BACKUP ROUTES!!!! This way, chances of failing are decreased. And if you buy an automatic weapon and mount it on your truck,, I will personally slap you =P I'm just kidding, but in seriousness, automatic guns aren't your best choice. Rifles are your best friend. Semi-automatic rifles are your best friend to, since you don't have to load each shell into the chamber. But you have to remember, try to survive like the supplies you have are the last in existence, because they very well might be. Ration food, ammo, water, batteries/flashlights, everything.
And stayng in one place...not the best idea. Unless it is at least an hours drive from a major population zone, you will probably not surive very long, especially if it's just one floor with a basement. If it's a loooooooooooooooooong ways away from majorly populated areas, then yeah, fortify the crap outta that place, and if you have time and have the supplies (i.e. saw to cut down trees and rope to tie them together) then you can make a crude perimeter wall. That way, if the zombies come for you, they have to get through the wall and you have time to kill them. This also will stall/stop any wild animals or other people from getting in unless you want them in.
Next is an escape route for the house. If you're still alive by this point, start digging through a wall in the basement. You will need an escape route in case you're trapped in the basement. Before **it happens, what you should probably do is build like a little hut in the forest away from populated areas. Then, go to the house and figure out where teh hut is in accordance to where you are. Then plan a digging route so you know where to dig when the time comes. This way, you can dig to the area where the hut is, where you can hopefully grab some supplies that you put in there (if it's still there) and run like a bat away from Ozzy Osbourne.
That's all I can think of at the moment in ways of criticism, I'll probably have more later, but I don't want to run out of space in the poist lol.
