(( This is a roleplay between Echo's Song, Orion's Verse, Katell, Nightfall and Lyrical Sky )) Orion's Verse pawed at the earth restlessly as he kept vigil over his small family. Lately his mind had been wandering back to his own family and he wondered how his own mother was faring on her own. He knew that his sister and father had left and he had needed time to find his own path in life. It seemed now that he'd found a mate in Katell and had two beautiful children that perhaps he should take his family home to meet his mother.
As the stallion continued to muse about this decision he watched as his daughter glanced up at him.Lyrical Sky glanced up from where she grazed and caught her dad's pensive expression. She didn't know what caused the look that came over his face. The young filly moved closer to Orion and nuzzled at his leg carefully. "What's wrong dad?"

Nightfall was amusing himself, pawing at the ground below his hooves. He nudged it around, kicked at it~whatever his little foal self felt like doing. He played blissfully unaware of the thoughts running through his fathers mind, totally unaware that his sister noticed their father was deep in thought. "Eep!" he squeaked as his most recent hop caused him to lose his balance. Instinctively he flapped his wings to help right himself. Sheepishly, he looked over towards his mother. As usual, she was watching him. Her eyes shined with amusement. He snorted lightly, and went back to playing at nothing on the ground.
((Yes, I did come in and change his color. xP)) ---
Katell stood near her mate, watching her children. A squeak from her son had drawn her attention, just in time to see him right himself with his wings. Oh, those wings. Clearly he had received those from his father's side. They were lovely, but some part of her worried about her son. He was different from the rest of his family, but she didn't want him to feel like he didn't belong. Nor did she want to squash any want to fly that he might have. She smiled as best a horse can. For now, her children would stay with their parents. One day, they would leave, but for now, she needn't worry.
A question from her daughter caught her attention. 'Something is wrong?' she thought to herself. He did look like he had been deep in thought. Keeping one eye on her playful son, she watched and waited for her mate to answer their daughter.

(( Changing colors is okay ))
Lyrical Sky's gaze traveled over her brother's form before she giggled softly. It was true that Nightfall stood out in the family being the only winged member. Secretly she was slightly jealous of those wings. However she would always look past that feeling. Scuffing the ground with her hooves the filly caught her mom's glance towards her father before she let the silence fall. She wanted an answer.
Orion glanced down towards his daughter with a look that was a mixture of surprise and embarrassment. How to explain to his daughter that he was worried about his own mother. However his daughter seemed to be the patient one and she would demand an answer - even if she was the most stubborn in seeking the answer. Orion glanced to Katell before giving a deep sigh.
"Well Sky. I suppose it's only fair that you deserve an answer. I've been thinking it's about time that perhaps you meet your grand dam. My mother that is. I am sure she'd be thrilled to meet you all," Orion was now glancing into Katell's direction. He said all ... and he meant all.

Meet his mother? Katell was not usually the nervous type. And really, she did want to meet his mother. She must be wonderful~at least Katell thought she must, seeing how wonderful her son was.
But somewhere in her heart she was a little worried. What if his mother didn't like her? Kat usually didn't care about such things, but she did want to be liked by his mother. Kat could tell that he thought highly of her...and if she didn't like Katell, what would that mean?
Katell snorted, pushing such thoughts out of her mind. It really wasn't in her nature to truly worry about what another thought of her. She was herself, and only that.
"All right," she began, "if you want, we shall go. It would be good for the kids to see where their father came from. Meeting your mother would be wonderful." Her voice was pleasant. The prospect of new things was beginning to excite her, and she found herself suddenly not worried at all, but rather looking forward to this adventure.
-----
Nightfall had heard the tone in his father's voice, and tuned in just in time to hear his mother's response. Curious, the young colt half hopped, half ran over to the rest of his family.
"Are we going somewhere?" he asked excitedly. "Like a real adventure?" He had heard the part about meeting someone, but honestly, the journey was what caught his attention. Seeing somewhere new? The thought was so exciting to the colt that he could hardly stand it.

Orion chuckled as his son scampered towards him asking questions. The colt's curiosity never seemed to fade. Lowering his head to Nightfall's level he nuzzled the colt before smiling. "Yes Nightfall. We will be traveling to find your grandmother. I've never told you about her yet. With the journey though it'll give both you and your sister ample time to ask questions."
That said Orion returned his gaze to his mate before moving to her side. His horn briefly touched hers. Orion lipped at a piece of Katell's mane before speaking softly - only for her ears. "It'll be alright. There is nothing that you should worry about."
Lyrical Sky took in the quiet exchange between her parents before turning her attention to her brother. How could he ask if this was a real adventure? All the traveling they did seemed to be adventurous. Of course she could see what he was talking about at the same time. They'd be meeting someone they didn't know. A strange feeling of uneasiness fluttered around in her stomach and Lyrical scuffed her hooves on the ground. Her voice rose softly.
"Dad, how will we find grandma? Do you know where she is?"

Nightfall was overflowing with excitement. They had been traveling, but this time they were going somewhere, they had a goal. Something he could fully see at the end. It was all he could do to keep from dancing around. The questions rolled around in his mind, but his father had said they could ask those along the way, so he decided to wait, for now.
He barely noticed the exchange between their parents, as he was too caught up in his own mind. Lyrical's questions brought him back to reality. They were good questions, too. He moved so he was close to his sister to show his agreement with her questions, his wing brushing her shoulder. "Yeah, how will we find her?"
---
Katell smiled when she saw the excitement her foals showed at the notion of meeting their grandmother. She knew it would be a wonderful experience for them.
She turned her head to nuzzle Orion's as he spoke. "I know," she whispered. "It will be a good journey, with a good ending."
Her attention turned back to the foals in time to see Lyrical ask her question. The girl seemed almost uneasy with the way she pawed at the ground, and her voice was quiet. Katell did not know the answer to the question, so she was silent as she pulled her head away from her mate and lowered it to nuzzle the filly before her.
