User Image Nyoka had found herself. THE ocean. Another leopard and so many other adventures that this time.. She was tired. Exhausted of the long time of looking for a nanny but only seemed to find a wilddog willing to take care of feline cubs...without eating them. It was- ALMOST too good to be true.. but the wilddog couldn't talk.. A mute with TEN puppies.. or so said her daughter. She could interpret her and she even had seer powers. She sat talking with her daughter a while and had ended up visiting them often. The mother, Nanu. Had hunted for Nyoka every time she seemed to pop her head.. like if she was expecting her to come every day... they had a sort of sisterly relationship despite them being opposite species..

They weren't annoying- nor barked a whole lot. Only to get the children to dinner.. So many things has happened.. and all she wanted. From all this experience was... the one she couldn't seem to let go. She went to the rock pile often.. in hopes he'd be there. She HATED waiting.. hated that she was here and having her heart ache to see just ONE damned leopard.. She had many guys now that she was playing with.. that waited on HER. It urked her in ways she couldn't understand.. would he come back? Was her heart just playing cruel jokes- or karma running right back in to her face?

"NO!" She slammed her self in to the side of the rock pile.. Curling herself near the back of the pile of rocks now.. She didn't even want to go inside! Taking a rock as her hostage as she scratched it all up and growled and snarled.. getting out her anger before she flopped on the same rock..It retained heavy scarring now..but at least she was finished.. Taking in deep breaths.. From the time she was suppose to meet Linje.. she retained now having a meal without the wilddog for about four days now.. and hunger was getting to her head as well.. "Damn you.." She grumbled- hating this.. position she was in. "Hmph." Tired.. she lifted her body up.. and ungracefully walked toward the tree that Dysi had laid on.. eating his meal the last time they met... it took her , a sweet little time to absorb being alone for those four days.. as she then. Like a leopard.. jumped and crawled in to the tree. NOT as graceful as he had made it seem but she imitated him from the last time they met.

That's also how she met Linje and how she found herself at a lion's call up in a tree as well. When she got up in to a thick branch she curled up and squeezed her eyes tight.

'I hate you! I hate you I hate you!' She said over and over again.

'Can't believe you let him get you like this~ A female with a heart broken is not a Nyoka. Pull yourself together!~' Her whole body was being affected by it.. but today. Was about the last straw.. and she vowed to let him go after today.. She would. Then to become the heartless soul she once was to get her fill and gain.

Her body had seemed to curl up as she thought and talked to herself INwardly. Reprimanding herself with her head in her paws..

His breath came out in a light pants as he moved across the savanna, his paws hitting the dirt with a light thud. His steps were heavier than normal, his exhaustion showing on his face as he attempted to keep momentum. The male had traveled far since the last time he had been here, heading back to where he had left...her. He had traveled to the forests, to the deserts, to the mountains and hadn't stopped there.

The male had met many people and yet, he had found himself drawn to the cheetahs he met. The females had been beautiful, yes, and sweet. Their personalities had shined with a type of innocence, but he had been unable to help comparing them to her, Nyoka. She was not the type of beauty that made you want to protect her, though in a strange way, Dysi still wanted to. She had been able to take care of herself, her strokes of independence were obvious, though Dysi had still tried to fuss over her. She seemed to have been amused by his attempts, allowing it. Had she enjoyed it? He didn't know. He had left her not long after her paw had healed, their time together brief.

Dysi had no time to return to where he had left her, not even once since he had left her, but, oh, how he had wanted to. He had craved to return to the very spot he'd left her, or he'd wished he'd never left. She had crawled under his skin, a rather addictive source of contradictions.

He approached the den with an eagerness that belied his earlier exhaustion. He could smell her scent! She had been here but, glancing into the den, she was no where in sight. He must have just missed her, though her scent lingered temptingly around. He closed his eyes, savoring the way it taunted him, eyes opening and his breath rushing out in a sigh. It was ridiculous for him to have thought he would have been able to find her on the first attempt.

"Get it together, Dysi," he muttered to himself, glancing forlornly at the den. "She probably hasn't even spared you a second thought." He firmed his shoulders, removing the slump they had gained in his moment of depression. Shaking his head, he settled himself beside the den, his exhaustion catching up with him quickly. Resting his head against on of the rocks that made up the home, he fought the urge to sleep.

Nyoka needed to get over it. Hunger.. was mixing in to her head and the few laps of water a day was no match for a stomach that growled and ached for just the femme wilddog to come feed her but alas.. She did not tell her where she lived and adventured far away.

It took her a good few good minutes to lift her head.. Exhausted.. Eyeing the watering hole.. Yep. She could go now and get a drink.. but too many zebra and zebu were running about.. If she tried to get one herself she'd fail and get severely hurt- see. She was down to earth. Lifting her body as he was probably attempting something but ended up growling.. But not just growling... almost yelling it in alert that she was there..

Some animals would think this was stupid but when you were a fatigued cheetah.. you don't want them to trample you. When she was done her alert calling.. she slowly lifted her body up from the trees. She wouldn't have moved out unless half of the number went down.. seeing the zebra scatter as she jumped down.. It wasn't graceful. No no.. she was angry.. upset and tired.. but she made her way to the watering hole. At this time if something were to attack her she would put up a major fight out of anger and hunger.. Her air was not that of an actress anymore but a melted down one- on her day off. Slowly.. but not really carefully as she let down her guard to take a few laps of water.. Eyeing the zebu on the opposite side of the watering hole.

'Your too fat and stupid to be a threat.' Was the air she was giving off as she lapped. After a few she sat and started taking more laps to fill her stomach. But the zebu was getting nervous therefore he thrusted through the water.. to intimidate her.. but her head slowly eased up- still. Giving out a low growl.. his next move would be his last as what she thought... Waiting for him to come closer.. When he did it one more time- the shot in her body lifted up and attached to his face. Grabbing his neck and jabbing her maw in to his neck in an awkward position. Letting out growls as the Zebu was snouting everywhere.

He lazed beside the den, trying to squash down the desire to wait until she returned. Her scent was there, and it wasn't old, so she must have been there sometime, he assured himself but it was a foolish notion. She had probably left for good this time. He huffed to himself, forcing himself back to his feet. He wasn't going to laze around and waste himself away waiting for her. He ignored the pang in his chest at the thought that she was gone, and gone for good but he forced it away.

Even as he set off, away from the den, he felt his shoulders slump. Damn. He had, foolishly he knew, hoped that she would be there, waiting for him. Of course she wouldn't though, he mused, moving passed the tree that he had met her at, stopping to fondly look at it and rubbed against it, savouring the scent of her which clung to the tree. Wait? Her scent! It was fresh. She was still nearby!

He perked up dramatically, and taking in a deep breathe, he tried to scent her, but his nose was not as good as a canines would be, so he struggled for a moment. Mostly out of sheer determination, the male caught a familiar wiff coming from nearby. He set off immediately, and once he approached the water hole, he could see a flash of familiar pelt as she struggled with the zebu she was attempting to take down. His eyes softened significantly as he stared at her, affection in ever pore of his body but he shook himself out of it.

He moved hurriedly towards the cheetah, knowing she could take down the beast on her own but wanting, no needing, to help somehow. She had latched onto it's neck already, so as he got close enough, he stamped down on it's body, using his weight to keep it pinned, least it kick out and hurt her. He watched her, unable to deny his affection for her as he waited for her to acknowledge him.

The zebu bashed it's head around a bit but only upward giving the cheetah the advantage. Slowly she worked her teeth in to the neck bone. Trying and trying to tare the skin off to hit bone..Until she felt the huge animal hit the ground to its knees and jabbed his horns in to the ground trapping her, as her growling became a more stressful one. She let go of his neck and in a hurried manner started to shred apart the wounds she made with with her teeth as she dipped her head down around the bull like face and covered his entire snout and mouth with hers.. Suffocating him as she breathed from her nose to prevent giving this Zebu a chance to live.

Her teeth also burying in to the skin as she felt bone almost immediately. A Stupid move from a stupid animal.. It took a split second to look up to see Dysi... she was exhausted and her chest was feeling constricted by the way she was pinned down.. Damn. A stupid animal going to kill her off? No AND Dysi was here to witness it? Never..

She held on for a few more minutes that felt like eternity.. Until she felt the Zebu lose conscious.. and in that moment she stayed with her maw hooked on but instead of she slowly started to angle her body down and started to wiggly her way out from under the zebu... Still holding on by the maw when she was finally out; having to rip off a piece of skin that was pinned.. It didn't hurt TOO much but it stinged as she put a protective paw over the head.. She dominated a beast almost 2 times her size.. And to see Dysi around? When did he find his way over here? Why do long? Why was he here anyhow.

Closing her eyes as she looked at the Zebu's eyes.. a VERY unexpected kill.. To make sure though she slammed her hind leg in to the horn.. He didn't wake.. she slammed it again until a jab of all her body weight to the horn.. it broke and the Zebu gave one last jolt before dying.. Slowly she let her tight jaw grip soften and let go... Kiss of death.

Her head raised and her tired body forced her up on the zebu as she growled in protection of the animal. Growling at Dysi... as she gave a warning snarl..

Only to lay on the dead body.. with a thud as she flopped her body. Eyeing him.. Protecting mostly herself other than the dead zebu.

Her eyes screaming to him 'why'. As her body was trying to catch her breath again.. Eyes so emotional that they were but only piercing in to his eyes.. Looking for answers.

His heart had jumped into his throat and stayed there for the duration of Nyoka's struggle with the Zebu. For a moment, he feared for her life and his heart stopped beating at all, but soon logic won out and he knew that Nyoka was not that easy to get rid of. She was an amazing creature, strong and self-sufficient, which was shown once again when she had managed to suffocate the Zebu, taking down a kill that should have been far too large for such a delicate looking cheetah.

He could see that she had been hurt though, it was impossible for to not be after being pinned so firmly by the creature. As she flopped onto the kill, and growled, he didn't even pause to think of what it could mean. He had only one thing in mind, making sure she was okay.

He moved quickly around the kill, closer to her with a faintly panicked expression on his face. Immediately reaching her side, he began to nuzzle where the skin had been torn from the horns and, noting that it was not life threatening, thankfully, he moved his head up and nuzzled her cheek. He gave a relieved sigh, not noticing her defensive or emotionally hurt appearance.

"Why is it that every time I see you, you're hurt?"
He asked, trying to make a joke out of it. He licked her cheek fondly, admitting, "I'm glad you are okay!" He pulled back, staring down at her with a desperate, but affectionate look. "I missed you." It was an extremely girly thing to say, and he would probably get teased for it, but it was honest. He had missed her horribly.

She watched him.. Like a walking dead corpse as he examined her. She didn't much move except her neck to follow him and the face that faced him when he nuzzled her. Causing her to slight growl but purr all at once. She shook right afterward as she LET him rise above her..

Midly she looked up at him.. Though deep green eyes.. "Because I'm alone." She said very coldly.. still staring with those darting words of missing. That ailed her..in a deadly way. In an angry way.

It only took a few moments of cold stare down for the cheetah's paw to raise and softly touch the leopard's cheek. A soft brush.. before her paw slid down to his neck and jolted him down towards her. "And I to you..." She softly headbutted him. "You worried me." Still head to head- she softly moved it; to brush her head along his.. She enjoyed him.. In ways she could not understand. WHY. Did he make her feel this way. Rubbing down in to the body of his thick neck. Then she looked away as she slowly slipped out from under him; letting her body rub against him in a long purring, longing way before taking her seat in front of the dead Zebu.

"Hungry?" She casted her eyes towards him after having a good look at her kill. This could be food for days.. It would just have to be housed in a tree.. Which hopefully she wouldn't have to do all on her own. Not with Dysi there. Pawing at the corpse.... Looking around to see if there were any .. well. Dogs. Mutts that needed for her to drive away before enjoying her meal.. After she did- she looked down to the missing piece of her fur. A patch of fur.. MISSSING!? No no.. it was just a cut.. No worries.. Cuts healed soon with the sun's rays and the Savannah;s humble embrace.. She will heal. This body ALWAYS did. It was perfect~ didn't the god's know?

She wouldn't bite off any of her food until she was certain they were safe.. as she looked.. she found them alone. THIS kill showed that she was a force to be reckon'd with. Now it was just a matter of time before vultures would find them..

She signaled to him to take a bite if he wanted. First.. In a regal, subtle but humble way.As if all the excitement that just happened disappeared in to the norm.

He would not admit it out loud, for fear that she would laugh at him or call him weak, but he loved it when she touched him. Even if it was as simple as a brush of her face against his neck, or the full body caress of her fur against his as she moved passed, there was something addicting about her prescence and, though he knew she could take care of herself, he wanted to protect her.

She was alone, he thought, with a pang in his heart which made him almost wince. Because I left her. When she had healed up, he had fast-tracked it out of there, but he had not wanted to. He had wanted to stay so badly, perhaps that was why he left. Dysi did not, as much as he adored the idea of family and cubs, like the idea of settling down. He wanted to, oh how he wanted a family, but there were too many insecurities, too many faults in himself that he feared passing on. He told himself it was impossible, the idea of him settling down, but standing there with Nyoka, it was a tempting ideal.

You worried me...and just like that, the pain of before was lifted and he wanted to grin and whoop. She had been worried for him! That meant she had missed his presence, had wondered where he had been, if he was safe. He should have felt guilty about making her worry, but as he nuzzled into her, licking at her fur soothingly, he couldn't make himself feel guilt. He simply felt...elated.

As she offered him some food, he glanced towards the kill and back at her. She was tiny compared to the Zebu, and it showed her strength that she could take it down on her own, with only a cut on her side. When she offered him first bite, well, he was surprised, but lowered his head none the less and bit down at the firm pelt. His teeth made short work of the muscles and layers, pulling away when his mouth was stained with read as he ate at the kill. He had yet to say a word, too stunned and afraid that he would ramble when he spoke next, making himself a fool. Instead, he moved around so he was by her side at the kill, purring loudly to show his appreciation of the kill and glancing up at her with his want of her in his eyes.

She stayed still as he showed her affection.. How she ailed to feel complete by his side but this wouldn't last and it hurt... Oh so bad.
A silence was between them that she could not place but there was really no need for words as she leaned against him..

Once he took the bite she offered him, she took leaned her head down and lapped a piece of meat where he specifically bit off of. So many questions she wanted to ask but she was content by his side.. lapping meat in to her maw.. she composed herself even if she wanted to rip the whole zebu apart at that exact moment... instead. Something with having Dysi near her calmed her.. making her ease in to the food rather than devouring it, in a whole.

The breeze had settled through their fur and the day was slowly creeping to the early afternoon.. Usually this would be the time she would go out hunting but.. With a whole zebu at her paws. THAT wouldn't be happening and it was nice. Having a stomach full for the night.. Maybe a few nights if she managed to get this kill up a tree.

After a few pieces missing and a few organs later she laid across a cleaner part of the zebu. Deciding to break the silence between them.. though it was like a sweet and bitter silence. She looked up at him..with those powerful teal green eyes.. Having caught his eyes before but only had to cast her gaze away.. but this time. She stayed looking at him.. having an equal want of him fully in her eyes.. "It's been a while." Tilting her head to the side as she watched him eat.. She certainly was half satisfied but if it was only thing she could get. A stare.. some affection. She wouldn't care.. this would be enough.. "Are you satisfied." Her paw touching an empty clear space on the zebu's side. She was leaning up but she was still in a lay position.. just watching him... as the body beneath her was still warm.

Her tail flicked as she looked..and watched him. She could do that all day. She once did so long ago.. Her tail curling in.. then out.... anxious to touch a piece of Dysi's body.. Or curl around his tail and suffocate it. That's how powerful her heart felt towards him.. though she would never admit it.

This as a whole ... from seeing him right on the zebu to help her take it down.. she was about to attack him.. but now she was calmer.. but still something was off.. Her mask wasn't fully up but broken on her face as she showed a little bit of her REAL self to him.. Something no one has seen but a mere wilddog by the name of Nanu. Her neck rose.. to show a sort of elegance.. that she had internally. She wanted to ask where he was.. all this time.. and trying to ramble up an answer if he asked her why she was still around these parts that he had shown her.. She closed her eyes then faced downwards... absorbing the moment as she waited for it to disappear like the other daydreams if she happened to open her eyes.. Which caused her to internally hope that he was still there IF she opened them..IF. Which made her keep her eyes closed.. making her look silly. As it seemed to childish for a cheetah at this maturity to be doing.

Dysi had eaten his fill of the Zebu, the unfamiliar meat was an interested change from the food he would usually eat. He didn't like to take on something around the size of the Zebu. He lowered his head and rubbed his cheek against hers as she began to talk, having missed the feel of her fur. She was a beautiful creature, and she was addicting. He had wanted to see her so often, when he was away. It was driving him crazy, not being able to see her again.

"Satisfied? Of course," he told her, his voice a low rumbling purr, "though it is more your company, then the food." He licked her cheek lovingly, trying to memories her face. He felt like such a sappy male, but he had missed her so. He lowered himself next to her, trying to stay close but he didn't want to crowd her, so he left the last space between them for her to cross, should she want to be next o him.

When she closed her eyes, he stared at her, looking confused and not understanding why she had done it. "What's are you doing?" He asked, sounding curious. Was she trying to hide from him? Did she not want to see him anymore? He looked even more confused.

"My company." She said before she closed her eyes for the long period.

She hadn't even given herself the pleasure of food when he was right in front of her. She stilled herself.. with her eyes closed still.. She still heard his voice.. And he rubbed against her cheek.. which sadly.. Made tears start to soak under her eyelids. But she didn't make a sound about it. When she opened her eyes.. he was still there.. and she took in a deep breath. "I was.... hoping that .. you weren't a mirage." Her face was more softer now that she opened her eyes.. and kinder. Sweeter. "I thought you'd disappear and waited ... just a moment.. to realize you were real." She smiled.. a rarity.. and slowly.. forgetting about herself.. she slipped next to him and curled .. around him. Not even caring about the kill and it was very different for her to show affection.. Her head immediately pushed against his neck.. and rubbed. Her nose filling with his scent and just over all taking him in..

She whispered.

"I miss you."

As if it was a secret.. as her tears found with ease his fur. She didn't FULLY cry. Not just a tear or two .. but it was meaningful and she wouldn't show too much tears.. She never had. Entwining her tail around his. "I am childish.. I am not.. for just gasping at the mere sight. Missing.. things that I have never known." She looked up... and let her ears plant down to her head. Closing her eyes softly but opened her eyes to look at him.. Then reclosed them as she nudged her face and such in to him once more.. and finally stayed there. Until he would move or something other than that she would stay there like a sanctuary's follower.. confessing what seemed to her as a sin.. to care so deeply.. for another. It was hard.. and it reminded her that even with the harshness she put herself through because she didn't have him.. it was ok now.

Dysi felt his breath catch in his throat at her words, and could have sworn his heart had stopped. When she opened her eyes, and said, oh so softly, that she had thought he was a mirage, he could have been pushed over with a feather. She had missed him, he knew, without her even saying the words, he knew she had. The look on her face as she smiled, something he couldn't remember if he had ever seen her do before, and suddenly the world was just a little brighter.

"Oh, my darling," he whispered fondly, as she pressed into him, curling around him as he immediately curled his tail around her, trying to hold her close and not allow her to move away. He purred lightly, allowing his throat, where her face was pressed, to vibrate soothingly.

The purring stopped abruptly when her words sunk in, the words he had longed to hear said out loud, confirming what he had known. He began purring again, his tail rubbing her hip and side lovingly, curling around her own tail and holding her close. He called himself crazy, but he could have sworn he felt dampness where her face pressed against his neck, but that couldn't be true. "I have miss you," he told her, his voice deep. "So much. I did not think I had the right to, for I thought for sure you would have forgotten about me already." He sighed, his spirit lightening. "but I have missed you so." He nuzzled her.

When she pulled back, looking up at him, he could see a faint sheen of tears covering her eyes, though he did not mention it. He didn't want her to pull away, try and hide an emotion he had never seen on her face. She looked sad, with her ears dropped down and the sheen of tears. "Let's make it good then," he told her, returning the nuzzling. "If you must miss something, let us make it good, something worth missing." He licked her cheek, nuzzling into her fur, trying to memorise her scent and her feel. He didn't want to leave her, at all, but if he had, he wanted something amazing to look back on. He wanted to miss loving her, not just miss wanting to love her.

Laying on him still.. but lifted her body up so she wasn't FULLY putting her weight on him. "I didn't think I'd hear those words from you.. It's been entirely too long.." Retaining dignity as she slowly got up and looked down at him.. She was ...smaller than an average cheetah but she made up for it in leadership and personality. Strength..

A light smile.. she hadn't experienced a smile in so long. It just flowed out of her like the natural beauty she had.

"And .. I SUPPOSE you had something planned then." She chuckled then jumped over him as she trotted not TOO far away but some.. to turn around to him. "I wouldn't stay in this place if I wanted to make a memory.. Where do you want to go.. " Her voice.. seemingly adventurous but it was only the fact that.. anywhere with him would seem like an adventure.. a memory.. Everything to her, really. taking a few steps.. "Come on~" She nodded to the big plains.. anywhere.. they could go anywhere.. and it'd be just them.. For this moment. This day.. she wanted to forget that she had a life that was split in two.. and fully indulge herself with every aspect of Dysi. Everything about him.. even the smell that lingered on her fur of him. her tail in a blissful wag.. very rarely did anyone ever see her in a happy mood.. Or in a mood to move the way she did now.. A smile.. bright as day awaited him..
