Welcome to Quidditch's Out of Character page.
Here you can ask questions, report atemps at scoring or bludger smashings, or anything else that is needed.
Thanks for playing this great game, and I am sorry for it being so confusing.
The snitch will be posted at 7:00pm central time today!
Make sure your seeker will be ready!

I was just wondering if we should postpone the game until the teams are organized again...all these multiple positions are confusing me >.

Yes, they sure are confusing. This, however, is to be expected. Not everyone can be on at the same time. I am keeping a waiting list to serve as replacements. I will try and help where I can.

Next order of buisiness.
Do you think that I should change rule 4's chaser section to say that they ARE allowed to post saying they have scored a goal?
The reason I ask is that it would take too long for anyone to score a goal.
The reason the rule is there is to give keepers a chance to block.
The change may put keepers out of a job, but something must be done to make it easier...

Well if we make the game last a long time perhaps that Jon Chap may stay on gaia for a long time. mrgreen But I do agree it may take a while to score becuase people are on so randomly and this game could last till well past summer.

yes i think that we should lie say that there is a half time and wait till we can get a few people on the teams and jojo089 does have a point about the keepers

I have an idea.
Lets say that chasers may score 1(one) goal on their own, BUT if the keeper posts within the next three posts then it will not count. And we would have to put a rule on which three posts count (ex: we would not count posts by the scoring team).

I like that idea. And posts by the other team should count, but they can't be something like:
Person one: throws quaffle
person two: catches quaffle
person three: hits bludger
Within a five minute period in order to keep the other team from saving. They have to be legitimate posts, and the person who threw the quaffle can't just post immediately three times. However, if part of a team is on at a different time than the keeper, that's rather unfair to the keeper...It's really hard to make it fair.

It IS realy hard to keep it fair. I dont think that you should put a time limit on posts b/c some ppl are never on enough to do that. When you think about it...what are going to be considered legitement posts? I mean, if the quaffle has been thrown then all that is left are the beaters, seekers, and perhaps people congradulating them.
What we would need to do is: > Allow people to score goals. > That person can't score another goal until someone else from either team scores a goal. > If a keeper comes on before someone from thier team scores a goal then they can block the latest score and me or wicca1 will edit the post. > That would put skill into it. If you want your keeper to block a goal, then you have to wait and not score until they come on. On the other hand, you want to score to earn points for your team.
This would put good balance into it. Any questions? lol

It'd confuse people for a while, but I get it and think it works. You'd have to judge whether scoring a goal would be a good idea, or waiting would, becuase by the time you decide to score a goal, the other team will have stolen the quaffle and you'll have to get it back, ect ect.
