~This entire post has been revised by Torment~ Darkness filled the arena as a low hum began to rise from the stands from the night. Electrical energy begining to pour out from great switching stations and shunt boxes in the nether reaches of the Coliseum. The darkness began to scream as the giant Coliseum began to shift, the great floodlights dispelling every last sign there had ever been anything but light within the arena. With this light came the roar of the crowd. With this roar came the crackling of field generators as great walls of force shielded the crowd from whatever the combatants might cook up. The skies high above were shrouded in darkness, not a single cloud marring the perfection of the star's light falling upon the arena, but no moon was to be seen. The ground was forged of solid Blackrock, known to the dwarves as Godsteel, left behind in the footsteps of their god. It had the properties of both metal and stone, whichever was most beneficial to the owner, being the Coliseum. This meant it would be the opposite for combatants. Nothing was seen within the arena as far as terrain, just the cold Blackrock in all directions, not even lines to mark boundaries. From four points around the arena streams of light fell to the center, converging and forming the image of an announcer, "Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, beasts and other entities! For tonight's match we have two new combatants, one of which is part of a larger whole you should all recognize by now. To the south we have Artemis! Not much is known of this combatant, but she shows promise. To the north we have The Blade of the Dominion! The Dominion has reportedly never utilized this form, so we hardly know what to expect." The announcer gestured wide as his form began to grow and disperse, "Leeeeeeets get reeeeeady to BEAT SOME a**!!!"

((>.> I shall do some awesomeness of captain power modifications!!! This shall be edited into a real post when I'm done >.>))
~~~~
((I have never used this character before, and he is basically someone else who was absorbed into the Dominion. He used to be known as Lyger, and I basically absorbed him as a favor, but you didn't need to know that.))
The northern entrance to the arena is filled with dark energies, crimson flowing through the cloud at regular intervals. As the darkness began to spread outward it becomes apparent that it is merely an aura of a greater being, a single angelic being with three pairs of wings, each of which were jet black with every other few feathers being metallic crimson. His seven foot form floats off the ground ever so slightly, eyes glowing behind a mask of pure ruby. Crimson dreadlocks trail down his back, writhing of their own accord as if they had been given life.
He paused several feet outside the portal from whence he came and glanced down the long expanse that lay between himself and the southern entrance. His eyes trailed up the the stars as a smile formed, hidden by the Ruby Mask.
From the south entrance was no showy flash or smoke effects, but just a simple girl appearing about 15 or so. She has eyes that showed no color and a face of only innocent impassiveness. She wore no armor and carried no weapons. Her wings are spread, each of the two wings of dull, gun metal colored skysteel wings. Every feather was as thin as paper and unbreakable. It conducted no heat nor electricity. Every aspect of her seemed to be metallic, and one with the space around her. It seemed like she could blink and vanish completely into the surroundings. Her aura was like none in the universe, a reverse aura from an alternate dimension... It pulse like a drumbeat played backwards, steady and inverted. Everything she seemed appeared inverted. The clothes she wore were flexible and the same color as her gun metal hair, dulled and void of classic beauty. They were short and showed more skin than was necessary, to allow for movement. It didn't matter, she looked like a very tall seven-year-old anyway.
When she saw her opponent, Artemis just smiled at him. She thought the angel looked beautiful, she liked beautiful things. Artemis was happy it was just a friendly spar. Badly hurting such a gorgeous being would make her feel very guilty. Being hurt badly by him would be even worse, she would feel unfortunate and completely hopeless as a girl. Forming a circle in the air with her hands, she spoke a few words in a foreign tongue. A moon like disk materialized in the circle, which she held in her hands and pulled at until it was the size of a dinner plate. The disk had handles like a tea tray, and she held it like a mirror. Instead of the angel the mirror faced, the crystal mirror had absolutely nothing in its surface.
"It's a pleasure to spar with you, sir."
((Its going to take me forever to get used to The Blade >.>))
Her appearance meant nothing to him, for he couldn't see it, only the pulse of her aura and the flows of energy and heat in the air, his eyes replaced by a vision granted by the Dominion as his gaze fell back to earth. His own energies did nothing to mar this sight, as they were of the Dominion, and so were these new eyes. His reaction times had been streamlined, cutting out vision and going directly to thought. His body was nearly one with thought, one with the Crimson Mist that permeated his dark aura, increasing the fluidity, speed, and agility of his already inhuman form. Two thick dreads pulled down and produced two blades from their sheaths, scimitars of approximately four feet in length of a dark metal that seemed to come alive as the energies of the Dominion coursed through them from the tendrils.
He gave a half bow, shrouded in his darkness, his voice spanning the considerable distance, "The pleasure is ours, child. We can guaranteee your life, but not your free will. It is not within our power to deny the Hunger." Each spoken word produced a glow from under the mask, as if a flame had errupted within his mouth, matching the one that consumed his eyes. The blades were sheathed with crimson light and two orbs of similar light had formed within his palms as he touched the ground to dart forward to close the considerable distance.
"Of course I don't get free pills, I'm not insane?" Artemis misheard him. Then again, she always mishears things. "And if it's not in your hour to define the hunger, are you on a diet? Are your pills diet pills?" She sprinted and veered sharply and with ease from the training recieved in an amplified dimension plane. His quick motions would pass her, he was already on her left side. Even if he did manage to stop, she could get a pretty good aim at him. The mirror disk in her hands glowed and a silver image of a female knight in the suit of the royal court of hearts emerged.
"Knight of Steel heart, rise and aid!" The figure tore from her image in the mirror and attacked without mercy. Although only four foot eleven inches, the knight's speed and accuracy was unearthly. She aimed for the back with a sword of blue fire. At such a close range, missing may be of some difficulty. Just as a precaution... The mirror disk glowed again and formed a mirror shield. A three foot straightsword flew from the surface and into her hand. It was about all she can handle for her size and weight. Lifting more may pull her off balance on her own weight, even if she could lifted like a feather.
A second figure appeared in the shield, it was a strange looking mutant rabbit of sorts, large and menacing with eyes that glowed like coals. It shifted for a moment, then vanished in the ripples of the shield. Artemis knew he was there for the sole purpose of cushioning her defense. "Merci, March Hare."
Taking a deep breath, she concentrated on a space in air. Suddenly, her essence changed completely, and her aura seemed to vanish off the face of the planet. Her life signs wavered, like a pool of silver liquid, or mercury, then dissolved into the air. Her aura could no longer be detected, her life no longer concentrated, but diffused. When one looks at the innocent, airheaded girl with the big shield and tiny sword, they couldn't see that in her blank eyes any more... All they saw was the world, everything, nothing, and an angel.
((Everything is kinda happening at once, so this post isn't exactly chronological. Keep in mind I usually seperate reactions from actions, which is why it might get a bit wierd. Furthermore, this is utilizing interupt style posting based on actions stated. Also, Lyger=The Blade))
Within the darkness Lyger seemed to shift and flow, the flame meeting first with the dark aura suffused with Crimson Mist, which threatened to snuff it out, the Crimson Mists draining away any and all energies within them that were not of the Dominion, though not with any great speed. If the blade were naught but flame, the strike would be performed in futility, for even if the flame did touch his form the Dominion shielded its warriors from all types of flame based assault, immunity granted by a demon of fire that was now within his ranks. If the blade had a solid component, it would be the same as before, his revolution forming a slight cut along his back that seemed to cover itself with Crimson Mist and seal much like a laceration in a cube of Jell-O.
His own motion came in several flurries of light and darkness. The tendrils gripping the scimitars reached out for a double slash aimed to cross her chest and neck as she dodged to one side, before the knight could even be summoned forth. And if the Knight couldn't be summoned completely, then I wasted my time with that first paragraph. ^_^``` The blades flared with crimson light, ready to not only cut flesh, but to connect with energy and auras.
The two orbs in his palms would be thrust forth as he turned to face her, creating two streams of light and energy with an intensity similar to that one might find in laser rifle technology. These Lances did not have the aura latching capability Lances normally had, forfeiting such for pure destructive capabilities.
The Mists pulled out as well, stretching out from his aura as the Knight was summoned, if she was going to bring more to the party, why shouldn't he? Two snails of gellatinous ooze formed five feet behind him, from whence he came, each blazing with the same crimson light inside. Each side of the snails' shells pulled out into what seemed to be two cannons, and from them issued a single blob of green slop, fired as a projectile towards the Knight. An added bonus of this was that these snails had true eyes to assist in Lyger's assaults, should Artemis actually be able to complete the transfiguration of her aura. (see below*)
The Crimson Mists did not stop with these two large snails, but began to billow as light coursed through them, pushing outwards at the rate of one would walk at a liesurely pace. Temperatures continued to fall as heat flowed into Lyger from the surrounding air.
* Should the scimitars connect, one would assume Artemis's conjuring of a blade of her own, not to mention alteration of her Aura, would be disrupted as Lyger's speeds rivaled that of even ki fighters, and what was to come would rival the speed of light itself.
((I won't even waste my time on the dictionary. Too many big word... @.@ >.< I don't get the crimson mist.))
Artemis smiled again, rather, she never ceased to smile. Her motions and attacks were not effected in the least by the onslaught. Only if there is a force many times beyond that of lightspeed and many times slower than a molecule at zero kelvin can she be disrupted from her motions. With a foot in each dimension, here and the one on the outer rings of existence, there was the protection and the offensive she needed.
Her Knight suffered little from the attack, although her sword broke into multiple shards of light. "Knight of Steel heart, home!" A flash was all that took for her knight to vanish thankfully. The blobs of material layed on the ground. Her aura reached out to them and took in their properties. From them, she understood its secrets, its functions, and its weakness. A function wouldn't be necessary now, she had to save them to when she really needs them. The sword in her hand pulsed an inverted aura that belonged to the snails, as what she heard. A seperate aura took itself from the depth of her shield towards the angel.
She stood defensively against the angel, holding up her mirror shield. It still bore no image of the angel. The surface rippled and her own image appeared within the surface. It grew and changed rapidly until the vision was barely managed from the light. The woman on the shield spoke with a life force half identical to the angel's.
I am Artemis, Seraphim of light.
The girl's voice spoke after it, "I am Artemis, Seraphim of Space!" The words were carried as a command as every particle contained in the ring began to shift to their own free will. Life force and aural diffusion had set the stage. This is now her dimension, this is now her home! The gravity was high enough to crush a solid block of iron 100 cubic feet flat into a square pancake. There were no magnetic poles. And in her dimension, there were no rules and no laws, not even the laws of science. The word of this field was the numbers, and her particular favorite: inf/0.
It would take several minutes for any tier 2 power to adjust, and perhaps several seconds for the tier one powers. She trained in this condition, and was automatically suited to it. Assuming the target was taking in his own mass, she would beable to resummon a stronger knight and attack within the speed of her world. "Knight of the Stone Table, come to aid!" A second female knight with a sword of light materialized immediately into her attack. There was no time in her world, perception and healing was impossible for all but a space seraphim. There was no life in her realm, only the line between life and death.
((The Crimson Mist is the visual depiction of Mindblaze's consciousness. As for the big words....well, I can't help that. >.<)) When reality itself began to shift and change, Artemis would find that the Coliseum itself resisted her efforts. The arena was Coliseum property, and such an alteration would not be tolerated by the staff, which included Archmagi, Destruction given form, Negativity Incarnate, and Time himself. A voice boomed through the arena, "Ahahah, you didn't say the magic word!" The arena could manipulate itself, and maintain itself just the same. Shame Artemis, for shame! Quote: Should these combined forces of the deific and beyond be unable to halt her efforts Lyger's form would seem to be immune to the increase in gravity, and despite her efforts, moved flawlessly, as if he didn't even fully touch on reality to begin with. His scimitars, however, would suffer immensely. Returning the the Crimson Mists they would be spared. The only way Lyger suffered was a distortion of physical features, as if he was slowly being crushed, but it hindered him not. The two snails would be squished beyond recognition, their forms dissolving back into the Crimson Mists, a similar reaction occuring within the projectiles they had fired. When the Knight disappeared, they became as light, passing outwards before Artemis could focus upon them, unless she truly desired taking a piece of Mindblaze into her aura, which would be similar to a human drinking molten lava. Quote: Should she be unable to press on under the pressure of so many, and the very realm itself resisting her, the projectiles fired from the snails would reach the same end, and Lyger's form would remain pristine, scimitars and all. Beyond such reality bending magic, Lyger would come to a conclusion that the blades would be of little assistance, in either case. His laughter would pass through the arena as two orbs of pure light were launched out from within the mist and Lyger's form was thrust backwards, draging the mist along with him before he darted into the skies, carried not by wings but force of will. Should rules and laws cease, Lyger's form would become naught but a continuous stream of motion. Not bound by physics thought would be unlocked, and his form and aura, suffused with pure thought, would become a deadly force. The two orbs of Crimson Light were aimed to slam into this newly summoned knight, and would alter their course to meet with the knight with precision unrivaled by any mind contained within a cage of flesh, even those of the greatest psions. They were created simply to explode in a pulse of light again as a laser beam, concentrated into an explosion instead of a beam. In their wake Crimson Mists would be left. The Crimson Mists continued to expand, bringing forth more of Mindblaze's will, stretching out Lyger's dark aura and suffusing the darkness with more and more crimson. Crimson light pulsed within with ever growing intensity, and Lyger was lost within it. ((Yeah, I know thats likely confusing, but I was damned sure there was something about not screwing with the arena somewhere. Knowing Diez he likely had it in the second rules thread that I deleted cause I thought it was duplicate. *le sigh* I'll have to revise things... again. The small bit is also slightly based upon the effects, but is mostly informative anyhow.))
((.. yeah, I only got the first OOC and part of the first paragraph. sweatdrop )) Artemis staggered as the arena wavered, and her life force rippled around her, struggling to return. It wasn't a true life force, only an imatation. She herself was nothing but mathematical make up, destroyable only by the mother of time and father of space. Her aura shifted and became an inverted pulse again, but phasing it a second time was much easier, she knew what she had to do now. Her aura was never dissipated, but an exact duplicate of the mindblaze's force. Taking a piece of the mindblaze wouldn't be necessary, she knew for a fact that she could access it through her own self.
Like a streak of light, she imitated Lyger's motions and soared up as he did, by power of sheer will. Her knight followed her, the swords of light negating all effects upon it by the orbs. "Lyger's mother, Artemis, Seraphim of light, lend me power and rise to aid your reincarnation ... return your son to his proper place!" The light figure in the shield rose in a blaze of white and merged with her, absorbed into her by the imitation of the Mindblaze. Her wings became pure rays of light dangerous to the touch, as did her hair. Her entire body glowed in light and her aura was tinted just slightly so that all that was detectable was the seraphim of light in her.
In doing so, she gained height and stature, and it allowed her to grip a larger, more effective sword. Shadows do not drown out light as easily as light washes out the shadows. She had an upper hand in elemental control now, but she knew that she was far weaker than him. That was nothing a few more transformations can't handle. Everytime she changes any part of who she is, she gets stronger. Her mathematical make up becomes more versatile and she herself gains more powers and skills. With a single sweep, she swung the new, longsword in a single hand and sent forth a crescent of burning light. Incorporated into the powers of light were her own powers of space distortion. If any object, regardeless of power, touches any part of the light, that part of them will dissolve into air forever to become a numerical part of the universe's continuums. Enough hits hinders any form of regeneration, regardless of size. Even her, sometimes, fail to resist her own attack, but she trained well enough against it before she learned. The knight grew with her new energy and slammed into him from the other side, not with offensive power, but the power of defense.
Light met crimson light, and the assault was nullified, drawn into the Crimson Mists and ruby radiance that suffused Lyger's dark aura, quashed by three seperate forces and thousands of minds, lost beyond the reach of her aura and knowledge to its end. Her attempts to alter reality had ended, and this gave him at least some relief, though he was still curious to know what would have become of it, not knowing that she would have removed all limitations upon his form. Her attempt to match the aura of Mindblaze would be in vain, for she would have to suddenly become over two thousand people, and the constant shift as the different consciousness roiled within his own made it impossible to duplicate in the slightest.
Her assault from the side would also end in futility as Lyger was lost within the crimson light, and her entrance into his dark aura gave the light itself the opportunity to assail her and the growing energies with millions of pinpricks, all aimed at touching upon her existance and consuming it into his own. Furthermore, her own momentum would be used to hopefully catch her off guard as she sailed past within the pinpricks. Out from Lyger's palms a pair of crimson streams of light issued forth to slam into the light that constituted her hair and wings, his goal to link to that light and consume the energy contained within each and ever last photon, not to mention that the darkness was also encroaching upon them.
((I've been imitating the mindblaze aura ever since my aura disappeared. It didn't really disappear, it just merged itself with his sweatdrop If she held it for that long, she probably has it anyway.))
Her life force particles still held the properties of her own reality and remained in a cloud around her, invisible but existent. The imitation aura, instead of burdening her with thousands of people, the dimension applied its lack of laws to them and bound them to her. She felt every fleck of power that coursed through her. It was painful, like liquid fire at first, but soon dulled down. It was how it felt when she passed between multiple continuums, not the worst thing that could happen. Every personality and life filled her mind with understanding. Jigokumizu no Riyoku, hellwater's greed, it made her mind unfathomable and it became an immense black hole, taking in all information and keeping it in.
The moment she saw what she was doing she suddenly inverted the entire property of her attack, "f(x)=|1/x|". If he tried to absorb it at all, it would be neither light nor darkness, but a poison of the two that only she can contain. While he is preoccupied, her knight at hyperlight-speed has plenty of time behind the impenetrable defense to make it through to him. By converting defense into offense, she can attack with the force of retraction instead of forced attraction. The moment the shield reaches within 10 feet of him, the angel would be compelled to move, and the shield will open up a passageway of sorts by mathematical law and allow for the knight to attack. If he moves back there was the knight and her massive explosive attacks, if he moves forward or to the side, she would have a wave of crescent energies. Going down would only set him up for an aerial assault that would be even more devastating by a surreal concentration of his full imitation plus whatever power extra she has. As for going up has the same exact result as going down, except worse. The higher they are, the harder they fall.
((Ok, there are several discrepancies.
If the arena actually did conform to your reality, you are screwed. Think of Neo in The Matrix, you'd be giving Mindblaze all of his powers and then some on crack, allowing him to surpass even the speed of light without any effort, and if effort is applied, you get screwed. Thought is unbound by physics, but is restrained when applied to reality due to the restraints of physics and biological ability. Mindblaze takes away Biology, and you take away physics. What is left to restrict the mind? Rethink what you've tried to do.
Second of all, if your aura exists at all, Mindblaze can tap it and drain it, ESPECIALLY while alongst his consciousness, the Crimson Mists.
Thirdly, no one can imitate his aura in any form, nor pull it from him ~this goes along with the part of his profile that emntions immunity from having his energies manipulated by outside forces~
Fourth, Mindblaze consumed energy of any kind and it is refined into pure electrical energy. This includes all forms of magic, the mind, the soul, anti-energy, neutralization energies, voidal energies, and whatever the hell else people throw at him. He was built to be an energy drain that, while the mists are slow moving, cannot be defeated by energy users.
Fifth, Mindblaze can never be distracted, especially within the influence of the Crimson Mists, he only has 2000 consciousnesses to work with.
Lastly, you should have realized by now that your combined assault mentioned at the end of your post is going to be an excersize in futility.))
((1. I've never watched the matrix and have no idea what it is >.> yes, it is sad. 2. The point is to have no restriction, that's what my dimension is. and it's only contained in a shield around me. 3. My character has no actual aura. All she is, is an imitation of everything. 4. My character does not use the basic forms of energy, but rather extracts of surreality that imitates so called energy. Actually, everything my character utilizes is an imitation of something or another in one form or another. 5. When you are up agains infinity, all you need is infinity+1. 6.
