[Pearl + Darkside egg distribution ICly. Also Da capo is a musical term that means "from the beginning"] The new mother laid there tiredly curled around her eggs. She sat near the fireplace as usual Her fur reflected different hues of light from the flickering fire, and as did her eggs. They each flickered with their own radiance, almost like a private light show near the fire place. Her eyes were closed, but her ears were constantly flickering for any change of sounds. Even though she couldn't see her eggs very well, she felt content just laying around them; just by having them.
Essentially, they were the fruits of labor between her and Darkside's love for one another. To her, they were her most precious beings along with her mate. She would risk her life to protect them, even if she would normally cower in fear. Perhaps this was what Darkside spoke about when the two of them conversed not too long ago concerning the topic of motherhood. Doing the extraordinary just because of one change.
Without a doubt, she was tired from birthing them, but she laid there with a content smile upon her maw, tails whisking lazily about. She couldn't wait to tell him the good news. Imagine that, the two of them now parents to four soon-to-be-kits. For now any fear of bad parenting was blocked far away in the back of her mind as she waited for her darker companion to reveal himself.

Darkside was there. Had been for some few moments, at least, but he had not wanted to disturb Pearl or the sight before him. He needed a moment to come to grips with it, as such an event had, not so long ago, been so far beyond the grasp of his mindset that even knowing they had been attempting purposefully to accomplish this it left him... Well, blown away.
The sight was beautiful. She was beautiful. The eggs were beautiful. He remained nestled in a pool of shadows not too far away, allowing his currently unsolid form to pool within their cover. He wanted to speak with her, to praise her, to admire up close the dark little orbs of shimmering color and the way they contrasted against her pale fur. But for just a moment he wanted to simply watch the contentment on her face without disturbing it. For a moment... he wanted to catch his breath, in a manner, so he would be able to speak rather than simply sit there dumbfounded. Though he wasn't entirely certain he would be able to even with this pause...
They were all so beautiful.

The green eyed male trotted across the meadow, he was in a jolly mood, and there was a spring in his step. Which meant somewhere else, likely where he just came from, someone was hurt and crying. Thus was his nature. He was a predator. And a royal jerk. He made his way into the building and looked around. For a place to rest? For something to eat?
No.
He searched for a freak. Which was what he called any kitsu not of the regular variety. A glow by the fire caught his cruel eyes. He tilted his head to the side, a grin spreading across his maw, pulling at the scar Raven had given him when she dislocated his jaw. "This is going to be a good day" he said with a happy tune. Shaking his body, he began to advance towards Pearl and her eggs. A low growl was in his throat. And then suddenly, darkness. He cried out, more in disappointment than actual alarm "WHAT!" he growled and spun around, trying to figure out what was happening. After making a complete circle, he spun back towards where Pearl was, and Chaos was standing infront of him, his red eyes glowing, and the smoke fading.

"Grandpa!" Rayne started to smile. Chaos continued to frown. "Go" was all the tall male said, his arms crossing over his chest. Rayne tilted his head to the side, not understanding what was going on "Papa, what do you mean? Whats going on?" Chaos growled again, growing more agitated with his descendant. "Your not welcome in this building. Your lucky you can still walk out of the yard!" "But papa!" The young male shook his head, and then lunged at Chaos. The anthro was quicker than the frustrated male, and wrapped his arms around Rayne, spinning around he slammed him to the ground, pinning him instantly. The young male fought, trying to bite and tear at Chaos, but Chaos had a hand keeping his muzzle down, pinned to his chest. "I tell you again, your not welcome here"
Rayne growled and thrashed in reply, reverting into a more primal animalistic state, than the evolved creatures the kitsu's had become. Chaos kept himself in control, and kept the other one pinned with ease. "I'm stronger than you are, young one. Your curse is diluted and washed out. Mine is direct, and runs strong. I can control it" Chaos tilted his head to the side, his blood red eyes making contact with Raynes vibrant green ones. Chaos's fangs, elongated, as did his sharp nails. His coat took on a sheen, not there before. He leaned close to Rayne, whispering in the young ones ear "My curse, grows stronger with age. One more chance, leave and never return"
Rayne shook his head, refusing to leave willingly. Chaos changed his stance slighly, and with one swift movement, slid Rayne across the floor, sending him into the wall with a thud, and a soft yelp. "Papa...." he said quietly, almost remorsefully. "LEAVE" Chaos shouted in reply "You are hereby banished from this neutral area, and from the family grounds. Never are you to utter a word to anyone who belongs to my bloodline, or anyone under my care" For the first time since he entered the place, Rayne looked started. He stood up, and shook his head "You've not heard the last from me grandfather" Rayne growled under his breath, and promptly turned and darted out of the building.
Chaos shook his head sighing softly. He rubbed his eyes, taking a few deep breathes to once again force his 'curse' into submission, making himself appear normal again.
And then, he remembered what started this, he turned around to face Pearl, who no doubt heard the family reuinion. He took a few steps towards the new mother, keeping a distance that showed his respect for her. "I'm so sorry miss. That you head to bear witness to such....a disappointing encounter" Pain was evident on his features, and in his voice. Raynes betrayal of the family, pained the ancient male greatly. "He didnt hurt you did he?" He kept his distance still, but knelt down, balancing on his toes, he rested his arms on his knee's, his tails kept him stable.

She was so content laying there by the fire next to her eggs she honestly hadn't noticed the her mate was not too far from her. Had she noticed, she probably would've beamed excitedly, telling him all about their eggs. This was their first step in parenting, and all she could hope was they all turned out to be wonderful little kits.
Before long her little moment of peace was interrupted by this brownish colored Kitsu with wing-like markings across his torso. Of course, she stood in front of her eggs, fur standing at their ends trying to defend them at any cost. She tried to look menacing, her shard-like wings spread out like shields in front of her unborn children. Of course she shook like mad as she was still not used to the idea of trying to look menacing and surely her fighting "skills" were next to null in comparison.
Shortly after she saw another standing in front of her. Whoever it was stood on two legs and wasn't as dark as her mate. It was hard for her to tell who it was, but he seemed adamant about defending her and her eggs. But even during their little brawl and argument, she stood there like a brick wall in front of her eggs.
When the dusty male approached her, she was unsure of how to react. Certainly, he defended her and her eggs, but she was still not someone who took to strangers kindly. She nodded her head as to answer his question. Of course, thanks to him she and her eggs remained safe.

It was a bare moment after Pearl's nodded reply to agree that she had not been hurt by the attacker that Darkside's voice drifted toward both her mind and her unexpected defender's. -He would not have gotten that far. Had you not dealt with him, I would have. And probably not so kindly.- No. The brown male would have found himself falling into a pit of shadow, and Darkside did not at the moment desire to think what he would have done to him there.
He coalesced amidst the shadows he had been hiding in as he spoke, stepping out from the wall shortly after. Moonlike orbs appraised the anthro from their perch in his shadowed face, his dark form as ever refusing to acknowledge the ambient lighting but rather paying homage to some unseen moon. His pendant was the only thing that glittered in the light of the fire, but even the iron of the Hollow Heart ignored the warmth it offered. After a moment of appraisal he nodded to the other male.
-You may relax, little Pearl. He wills no harm.- If he had, Chaos would already have found himself in the middle of a fight. And perhaps with one who dwelt almost as deeply in the shadows as he, Darkside would have had an actual fight on his paws. This was not the case, however.
He stepped to Pearl's side then, offering her the comfort of his body partly shielding her as he curled his neck over hers to peer at the eggs. -Four?- He had not seen the white one before, so well did it match her pearlescent fur, and the dark markings about the bottom had been hidden by her tails. Once again he had trouble wrapping his mind around the turn of events, but he was happy. So very happy. Who would have thought something like this could happen to one such as he?

Chaos inclined his head, acknowledging Darksides comment about Rayne "i agree, but as far as he has fallen from grace, he still belongs to my bloodline." Chaos sighed and fidgeted with his fingers, brushed the fur on his knee "Although, he has fast approached the point where that matters little" there was regret, and guilt in his voice.
He shook his head, at his own private thoughts. "No, never would i intend harm upon a family as beautiful as the one you have here" he said with a genuine smile upon his maw, at this moment, he forgot about the pain his soul carried about his own family, he just enjoyed the presence of the new family. "You have a beautiful family..." he said softly, the up most respect was in his voice.

She didn't realize how close her mate was. Why did he wait, though? What if Chaos was in league with that brown-furred male who threatened her family? Those thoughts were natural to any parent--young or old. She hated the idea of being rather useless in fights, but in a way, that delicacy was probably one of the reasons Darkside was so fond of her. Even so, he typically had his reasons for doing everything that he did. Well, in either case it was a good thing Chaos was on their side, or at least not on the same side as that brown-furred male.
When the dark shadow stood over and curled around her, her tense shoulders dropped slightly. She nodded lightly to his question, Four...yes... as a soft smile crawled its way onto her maw. The fragile female was so proud of this rather picture-perfect moment. She still had much she wanted to tell him of, but perhaps it would be wiser to save it for a more private time.
Turning to face the smoky, tall male, she spoke softly in his mind in a similar manner that Darkside spoke. Thank...you...And thank you us.for...for...saving us. She spoke with a soft and genuine smile on her face.

Four. It was a large number of offspring for a kitsusagi, the largest litter one could have barring very unusual circumstances if his investigations on the matter were accurate. It all left him a bit dazed, and he simply stood in silence while his mind tried to process the matter. The respect, perhaps even reverence, from the other male in regard to it shook the last vestiges of doubt that Chaos was indeed no threat from his mind and he chose to just bask in the moment, however briefly.
But there was pain in the newcomer in regard to his own family, a great deal more than was let on at the surface even by his voice. Darkside turned his glowing eyes to regard the vivid red of the other's gaze for a moment. -I am Darkside.- He left off for a moment before prompted by some peculiar instinct of caring for others that Pearl had awakened in him some time ago, and decided to offer an ear. -Would you care to talk about it?-
He felt... a strange kinship with the other male. Ties that bound them both to the shadows, to that dark place that few others could understand. This was important, somehow, and perhaps if Chaos did feel like sharing he would understand why.

He suddenly realized, he was intruding upon this special moment, of the new family. Chaos cleared his throat and shook his head lightly. He was about to excuse himself, when the male introduced himself, and asked about what was on his mind. Chaos smiled, a soft bitter smile. He bowed his head to the question "My name is Chaos. It is an honor to meet you" He watched Darkside a bit more, feeling something...similar in the darker male.
He nodded softly. "My mother is a Vampire. My father a potions master. When i was young, my mother's cursed blood, was stronger than my will. The bloodlust, the desire, was stronger than i was..." He looked down at the ground, for a few moments before looking back up, and resuming. "I...tried to attack anyone, even my love, whom i met when we were both children. My mother taught me how to feed properly, upon forest creatures, and to pay respect to them, never take more than you need." He gave another soft, bitter smile. "I underestimated the strength of the curse....I tried to attack her. Lost in my lust. A nightmare friend and my father, contained me. Capili, my love, she refused to leave me. We took things slow, everyday was unknown to us. We were blessed with kids, four." He smiled again, warmly this time, remembering his children, and the first time he held them. "It's an amazing feeling....a childs love....Before i reached this form, even as an adult, i could hardly contain the curse. Before my kids were grown...i disappeared into the woods. My fear of harming them, in any way, overpowered even the love. My love, she's as understanding and forgiving as they come, she never held it against me, never got mad at me...I've sired 8 children, and hardly been there for any of them. I've been in control now, for many many years. I dont know if its the form, or age that has made it easier to bear...I dont ask why. I've commited myself, to becoming a guardian. Of my family and its many branches. And on occasion being a guardian from my family." He looked to where Rayne left "I've made many mistakes in my life, with my family, with my children and grandchildren. I've become a myth, and i'm not even gone" he chuckled lightly.
A sparkle in his red eyes. "I'm sorry I....didnt mean to ramble on...I fear i dont get out much and my social skills are below par" he said with another laugh

Pearl couldn't help but feel sympathetic toward Chaos. She couldn't even begin to imagine what it would feel like if she had to leave her children for fear of their safety. Never spending but a moment with them; watching them from afar...This feeling broke her heart. Perhaps it was because she recently gave birth and all the unbalanced hormones, but it was a rather awful feeling still. How painful it must have been for the smokey-furred Kitsu...
Perhaps...now that you are in more control...you can see your family again...I am sure....they would appreciate that... A soft, understanding smile grew upon her maw. If something similar were to happen to us...I would eagerly and...patiently await Darkside's return to us...And of course...with the utmost understanding feelings...
She turned to face her mate briefly before staring down at the ground. It was a little embarrassing to say, and it made her blush. She would truly understand and wait for his return if it were to happen. The day he would come back...Surely...We would all...celebrate it as the most joyous day... Her eyes wandered toward Darkside again with a blush in her cheeks before they turned back to their eggs.
