Kira was a nervous wreck; she'd been pacing the shop all day and hadn't gotten any work done. The guys at the garage had never seen her act in such a way. Even when the came to ask her questions, they were met with a hard gaze with cool words instead of her usual cynical response and threat to fire them. Some were happy about it, some wondered what was wrong, but none of them dared ask. Oh no, if you wanted to get fired, asking Kira a question was probably the only thing that could possibly get you fired. She didn't hire idiots; they were supposed to know what they were doing. Customers asked the questions, because they didn't know what they were doing, and were paying someone who knew to fix their problem. It certainly wasn't the other way around, and she made sure of it. The only veteran of the shop, who'd stayed long enough to survive Kira, watched her quietly all day. Her twitching, glances at the clock every 5 mins clearly indicated she was dreading something, but what? He didn't know. Standing up and throwing his hanckcheif over his shoulder, Damien walked over to Kira, wrapped his arm around her shoulders and moved her to the next room. She wasn't protesting, so Damien allowed himself to grin as he passed two guys talking to a customer. Their jaws dropped, eyes glued to the scene before them as Kira was dragged to the kitchen area.

"Okay sugar pop, what's up with you?" He tried his way with loose speech, it wasn't everyday that Kira was in such a state. The woman turned to him, eye glancing at the clock, she needed to leave soon or she'd be late. "Nothing, why do you say that?" Damien quirked his brow and Kira turned away from him, he wouldn't understand if she explained herself. "I think... I'm going to be pregnant..." This time she turned around to face him, yup his reaction other words were exactly the one's she'd expected. Kira narrowed her eyes, he was bent over laughing loudly, and she crossed her arms over her chest. "Fine don't believe me, what do I care? And I'm going to be late, get back in the shop and stop slacking around." The bitter tone had done nothing to stop the laughter, but before she could leave the room, he'd grabbed onto her arm. "Who's the father?" The statement sent him into another fit of laughter, tears streaming from his face. "Damn it Damien, be serious and get back in the shop before I fire your a** and throw it out the door." With that she yanked her arm from his grip and marched out of the room, head held high as she went for her car. When she was in her car, Kira head banged into the steering wheel a couple times, earning a few glances from on lookers as they watched her. "Screw them all!" Kira started the car and left towards the clinic.

The ride seemed to be too short for Kira, and as she parked the car, all she could think about was the building looming over her and eating her up. It wasn't the fact that she was about to have kids that scared her, it was that she had finally decided that se should be a single parent that scare her the most. She'd been raised that way and look at her now... She didn't want that for her kids, but at least her dad was supporting her. To hell with the others! Getting out of her car and slamming the door, Kira almost stomped her way through the parking lot, and into the building. Once she was inside, she put her hands on her hips and gave the room a clean sweep with her gaze. To anyone, she probably looked like some half crazy, scary looking woman who was out to kill someone. Then, without missing a beat, she went up to the receptionist. "I have an appointment." Then her throat closed, her eyes grew big and the instinct to just run away over came her. But she stayed in place, sweating just a bit and trying to wipe it on her jeans.

Selma didn't even look up. It was probably best that way, since her reaction to such visible fright probably would have sent the poor woman over the edge. Instead, she continued to flip the pages in her magazine and waved a hand lazily at the chairs across the room, indicating that the other woman should sit and wait. "The doctor will be with you shortly," her voice was void of emotion, like the rest of her.

There was no actual evidence that what she said was true, but it was. Ronchas was in his office finishing up with some man and his twin girls who were in for their annual checkup. Ronchas was not only a fertility expert, but a pediatrician. On top of that, he was even working on his certification as a regular doctor. He had to be ready when the first DT kids reached their 18th year and couldn't really go to a pediatrician anymore.

The door opened and a tall, brown haired man walked out with his two girls, one dressed in a pretty green dress, the other in jeans and a purple t shirt. "Thank you, doctor," the man said as he left the building.

"Hello, ma'am," Ronchas greeted the woman waiting and went to the receptionist's desk, pulling out a folder from a big bunch of them. "I assume you're the next appointment."

It seemed like the receptionists coldness had cooled Kira down, it was as if the lack of emotion had just calmed her over flow that she was having. Blinking a few times, she slowly peeled herself off the counter and managed her way towards a seat. Kira plopped herself down and gazed straight ahead of her, mind going blank and yet millions of questions were buzzing through her head. There were so many options to consider, did she want a boy and girl? Two little boys? Or maybe two little girls? Did she need to color the rooms pink, or some other color? The sound of a door opening brought Kira out of her daze, she could feel her heart pounding in her ear. Her eyes moved as a tall man came out, two little girls walking beside him. Two girls. Hm, Kira could picture herself on the couch, one late night watching some sort of movie on television. They'd all be cuddled together, her daughters sleeping ad Kira with a content looking gaze. The idea of wanting two girls grew, flourishing like a blossoming flower. Boys were trouble, then again her girls would e trouble too, but that was besides the fact. Boys didn't like cuddling, boys didn't like to share and boy things just weren't her department.

Then the doctor came into view, Kira almost jumped up. She was still day dreaming about having a two little girls, but she none the less made it over to the doctor. "Hello, ma'am," Kira tried giving him her best toothy smile, she ended up closing her mouth just as quickly thinking she looked like an idiot with a huge grin on her lips. As she got closer, she stuck her hand out, a business habit she'd gotten from working at the garage. "Hello doctor," Hopefully he hadn't heard the shakiness. "And yes I happen to be your next appointment." Oh crap, she'd totally forgotten to wipe her hand, damn it all! He probably thought she was crazy now.

Ronchas could tell the woman was nervous, so he tried to keep the best demeanor possible. He shook her hand, but wiped it off with a rag, afterward. He'd be washing his hands again anyway, if he needed to do anything that required clean hands. Doctors and scientists always had to keep cleaning their hands.

"Follow me," he said calmly, opening the door to his office and stepping inside. He closed the door after her and sat in his chair behind the desk, motioning for her to take one of the ones in front. He waited til she was settled.

"Follow me," Kira did as she was told, she was about to make the biggest step of her life. Well, she could still refuse and run the away and never come back, but then her dream would end. "Thank you for seeing me." She took a deep breath, and entered the room. The office looked like any other doctors office she'd seen back when she was a little girl, now-a-days she tried to avoid doctors as much as possible. When he motioned for her to sit down, she did and shifted in the chair to get comfortable. Her eyes were took a quick glance around the room, over the bodies where you could see inside, and other things that caught her attention for a few seconds. It wasn't long before a silence had settled in the room, Kira's attention drifted back to the doctor. She'd wait patient, listen to him talk and then ask her questions if she had any. Until then she was quiet. She hoped with her gaze glued to him he'd understand that she was waiting on him to speak his part first.

Ronchas did, and as soon as she was ready for him to speak, he began. "You are interested in becoming a mother, yes?" He didn't actually mean for her to answer, that's why she was there, wasn't it? So he continued without pausing long enough for her to speak. "Our clinic offers parents who are unable to conceive the chance to have children. Some come in because of incompatibility of species or gender, and I can help them. Some parents have genetic or other health problems that make it difficult to conceive or carry a child. And there are others--like yourself--that lack the... other half of the children." He tried to put that last bit as delicately as possible. He waited, but it seemed she was going to let him finish his whole introduction first. "We actually double as a sperm bank, though we have less 'inventory' than most sperm banks do." He paused a moment. "You can pick any one of them or you can bring me genetic material from any other source. It is entirely up to you."

Tnau
"You are interested in becoming a mother, yes?" Kira nodded, indeed she was starting to warm up to the idea that she’d be a mother in 9 months time. "Our clinic offers parents who are unable to conceive the chance to have children. Some come in because of incompatibility of species or gender, and I can help them. Some parents have genetic or other health problems that make it difficult to conceive or carry a child. And there are others--like yourself--that lack the... other half of the children." The other half…At twenty six, Kira was still very single. She didn’t even remember the last time she’d gone out on a date, or even been with someone. If anyone else had made the same remark, it would have landed them a string of insults if not a nice fist to the face, but now it was a doctor talking, and he was being sensible about it. "You can pick any one of them or you can bring me genetic material from any other source. It is entirely up to you." She hadn’t really brought anything with her, then again she didn’t even know if she did want her kid to be close to normal. A little spice never hurt anyone. “Be species, do you mean I can bring in any outside kind of uhm… Not person, but I –did- have any idea.” An idea brought on by her father, which was if the woman agreed to give her a sample. “What about, I don’t know if this could be possible. But what if I found a muse or a nymph, would that work?” Yesterday, Kira had made a trip to her fathers’ old folk’s home just to make sure she was doing the right thing. They’d talked about all sorts of things, and her father’s wise words had been ‘take the opportunity Kira. Having children always changes the parent, think of your children as muses. That’s certainly what I thought you were.’ Then they’d chuckled about other things, and she’d left full of hope.

"Did you have a source in mind?" Ronchas cocked an eyebrow, but his smile remained. It was a weird expression, to say the least. If the woman did have a source of such a rare DNA it would be quite interesting. Though, he could probably provide her with something similar, what with all the interesting people coming to him for help. A decent enough number had allowed him to store samples of their DNA for others. But he wasn't ready to volunteer that. He was curious to see what kind of thing gave her the idea.

Heck, if you wanna, you can just post this in the middle and go ahead and continue with whatever your reply is afterward. xd

((As for a source of DNA, I'm more than willing to just make somebody up for you. xd ))

"Did you have a source in mind?" Kira's attention left the doctor and she went thoughtful for a second. She knew a muse, but she'd be lucky to come out alive at trying to get a sample of her DNA. And nymphs... Well she didn't know any nymphs, and she could only wonder what sort of trouble she'd get in trying to find a nymph. A slow smile started growing on her lips, dangerous or not, she'd have to figure something out, it wouldn't be the first time Kira did something dangerous anyways. "I know a muse, thought I don't know any nymphs." She left the part where it could possibly be dangerous for her to get the muse DNA, but the choice of a nymph and muse still hung in the air. Kira's eyes returned to the doctors. "I can find you a nymph, unless you have the DNA of a water nymph." It was simple, and her tone clearly indicated she'd do anything for her future daughters. Plus, if she got some sort of water nymph she wouldn't have to worry about her daughters drowning. "What do you say doctor?"

Ronchas went over to the file cabinet and opened one of the drawers. "I believe we have a nymph on file, but I don't believe she's a water nymph. Continuing to shuffle through folders, he read off a few more that might be acceptable. But we do have several fairies, a male muse, a couple of fallen goddesses, and.." he paused, still flipping through the list. "Well, here's someone calling herself a water sprite? Would that be acceptable?" He pulled out the file folder and removed a page, handing it to her. It had genetic information, but no name or anything. It was the sheet shown to patients to keep certain things confidential. "She is female, but that's never a problem for me."

Kira was truly impressed with the doctor, that was one huge DNA database they had. When he handed her the paper, she glanced over it. A water spirte was just perfect. "Oh a water spirte will do just fine!" She handed him the paper back, excitment clearly seen on her features. "She is female, but that's never a problem for me." Kira blinked, she wasn't really out of the loop on common knowledge about having children, but two females really? "That's wow, really?" Though without skipping a beat, she continued. "So how exactly are we gonna do this?" Just to think that in nine months or so if everything went well, she'd actally be giving birth. Oh how she wished both her real mother and adopted one could see her now, how proud would they be? It felt a little weird to be having kids alone just like her mother, but she didn't plan on going anywhere.

Ronchas nodded but didn't give a verbal answer since she was already on to her next question. "I'll take some of your DNA, along with the DNA of the water sprite and make them compatible." He didn't feel it was necessary to give any more of an explanation than that. "Then I'll perform an artificial insemination." It was a very simple procedure, from her end, at least. "It will take about one week before I can be ready."

"So that's it?" So she only had to wait a week, wow that was pretty fast. "Do I have to give you anything?" She shook her head. "I mean yes obviously I do have to give you something, do you want anything specific?" Wow, she was going to be a mom. Holy crap! And to top it all off, she was going to be a mom with the help of another girl. The irony that it was even possible was just brilliant.

"As far as payment goes, we'll bill you once the procedure is all a success," he assured her. "We don't charge for failure, though that is mostly because failure here is incredibly rare." His usual grin plastered across his face indicated he was very proud of that fact.

"For the DNA sample, anything will do, since it is only a reference," he said with a wave of the hand. "Even hair will do."

"Oh money isn't an issue. I've been saving up for a lot of things for quite a while now." A new house, another garage, kids, education and some vacations. The second garage would be able to bring in even more income then the first one, Gaia was a flourishing place and there technically only was few garages. "We don't charge for failure, though that is mostly because failure here is incredibly rare." Kira was being taken surprise after surprise, she was quite happy that failure was rare. "Even hair will do." Well, she had plenty of taht to give! Running her hand once through her hair, Kira selected two strands at the back of her head and plucked them. She leaned forward slightly over the desk and dropped them on the paper that he'd previously given her. "There you go, need anything else?" Now there was a huge grin on her features.

Ronchas picked up the strands of hair and examined them carefully. They looked good enough. There was even a bit of the root strand on one of them. Perfect. That was the best for this sort of thing, after all. "Alright." They were pretty much done. "I'll give you a call in a week so you can set up another appointment for the insemination."

"I'll give you a call in a week so you can set up another appointment for the insemination." As if on que Kira's phone vibrated on her ribcage, the doctor could probably hear the vibrations from across his desk. "Sorry." Unhooking the phone from her hip, Kira looked at the number, then glanced at the doctor. "I really need to take this." Standing up, she flipped the phone. "Hello?" One of her mechanics was calling her about a new guy, something had gone terribly wrong at the garage and chaos was everywhere in the garage. Kira swore multiple times as she paced the doctors office, she'd have to go back now if she wanted everything to get fixed. Flipping the phone closed, she hooked it up on her hip once more and turned to the doctor. "I'm sorry, emergency at the work place. I really need to go. Uhm, a week you said? Alright that should be fine! Goodbye and thank you!" With a small wave of her hand, Kira opened the door and left the office in a quick pace. She'd left her jacket on, so she was able to quickly make it into her car and drive back to the garage.
