Name: Hati Namesake: Hati is one of Fenrir's two sons in Norse mythology. He is the wolf who chases the moon, and Skoll is his brother. When he catches it he swallows it and causes lunar eclipses. When lunar eclipese hapened, childeren would make loud noises with cooking utinsils to scare him away. Gender: Female Mate: NA Pack: NA Age: 2 1/2 Apearance: Hati is a primarily greyish wolf, with dark almost black shadows on her back and a few other places. Her underbelly is white, and a deep teal accents all of the areas touching white. She has vaguely tridbal designs in the same deep teal color on her face, her right fore leg, and her left hind leg. She has a leggy build, with slightly large paws and a round chest similar to a husky's. Her one blue and one gold eye along with a slightly curved tail undenyably betraying her ancestory. Personality: Hati is on any average day bitter, angry, and sullen. She spends quite a bit of time brooding, and has very little respect for anything. However, she is not mean or hostile through and through, and most of her violent tendancies are a balant cover up to make herself seem stronger. She has respect for warriors, hates humans, and although currently alone longs for the company of other wolves, though she would never admit it. Text color: Teal
Family: Mother~ ??? - half dog Father~ ??? - full wolf Siblings~ ???
Companions: Munin- He's a bird >> Baldr- Her new responsibility, although a bit of a shock, not entirely unwanted. He is just a small pup now, so Hati pretty much gets put in the position of foster mom.

It took her a full year to realize what was wrong with her family. She lived everyday not knowing any better. The first time her mother had gone off to see the humans Hati had only been a month old. She grew up with the stench of humanity, on her family and on her.
Still, she never was fond of them, the lanky, awkward animals whom her family would follow during hard times, whom they would beg for scraps from. They always seemed vaguely wrong. Apparently it was only her. Her two siblings didn't notice, and would get close to the people, even let them touch them. Despite her lack of trust for them, she didn't know what her family was doing. What they were becoming.
It took a strong Alpha and his pack, a wandering group, to show her all that was ill with the way they were.
When he wandered into their lands, her father had calmly greeted him, though she smelled fear on him. The other alpha had looked down on her family, and asked, in a manner most condescending, "You live with humans, beg from them, and roll onto your backs for them. You are not wolves, you are just mutts."
He had was battle-scared, rough, powerful, his pack looked to him for leadership. They were well fed, sleek, and strong, and she could see the difference between her family, who were scrawny and scruffy and afraid.
And she hated it.
She spent one more year with her pack. She refused the go near the humans, spent time with her grandmother, who didn't trust them either. Learned the ways of the wolf and the forest. She thought she could bring her family back from their pathetic ways, back into the way of a true pack of hunters.
And then she got in a fight with her mother. The smaller half wolf had come back with cooked meat, and offered some to her daughter timidly. It had angered Hati, she yelled at her, telling her that her family was pathetic, that the wanderers were right, they weren't even wolves, and that they shouldn't live like they did.
Her father spoke calmly, but with the same aura of fear he had spoken to the alpha with. That was the way they lived, he said, if she didn't like it she could leave and be alone.
"I will live proud and free, if I have to do so alone then so be it," she responded, and left the lands of her birth forever.

... or rather any wolf that Hati has met and not wanted to kill...
Phib: Strong, bold, and war torn, this older male comanded a certain respect, and was pretty helpful when asked questions. Also, seems a bit dangerous with all those scars. Hati thinks~ Best to stay on his good side, he might make a fantastic ally.
Cheveyo: The minty wolf seemed a flake the the down to earth, buisnesslike Hati, who didn't at all fall for his amorous words. However, he didn't do anything wrong, so for now it looks like Hati will just keep ignoring him. Hati thinks~ Stupid fool.
Tau:This quiet, calm, dreaming wolf left a good impression on the usualy highstung Hati. It was odd to find her with such a good opinion of a stranger whom neither apeared to be too strong or too bold, but his calming manor seemed to sooth her. She may have a bit of a crush on the warm wolf. Hati thinks~ The nicest wolf I have met. He is... different.
Ran: The only Shaman Hati had ever met, Ran not only was pleasant to speak with, but also seemed to leave Hati in a very philosophic mood. She also made her think a bit. Also, she recently healed the wounds Hati aquired though her fight with Lunar. Hati thinks~She healed my wounds, and is nice, in her own way, but still, a little strange...
Duhkha: She met this lone male due to clumsiness, but it was not a bad meeting. He was a little timid, and unwilling to speak of his past, which is something Hati more than understands. He also showed a strange braveness. He is accompanied by a fox who didn't feel a need to speak much to the she-wolf. Hati thinks~Odd pair, but interesting and helpful. I hope they find what they are looking for.
Kamali: This calm wolf provided a relatively interesting conversationalist. Although she met him, Hati still doesn't know much about him. Hati thinks~ Nice enough, if a little weird.
Stray: This companion of Kamali was interesting and kind of amusing, but much like Kamali there isnt' a really strong feeling about him. Hati thinks~ A funny loner...
Mabon: The cute little scared pup is probably Hati's only true wolf companion. Hati think~ He's my little brother.

Humans: Hati hates them with a passion. She feels they runied her life, and that they are weak beings that deserve not to live. Hati thinks~ They had better not come near me, bastards.
Lunar: Hati doen't know this is her name, and probably doesn't care. She doesn't like her one bit. During their breif encounter Lunar managed to insult Hati, which turned into a big ol fight, from which, it can be argued, Hati won. Hati think~Stupid pig wolf. I don't even want to bother with her. It isn't worth fighting losers.

Name: Munin Namesake: Munin means memory, and is the name of one of the two crows who deliver the Norse god Odin's messages for him. Gender: Male Age: Unknown, assumed young Apearance: Munin is almost entirely black, with a deep blue hood and bright orange eyes. He is a medium sized crow, who was a little scruffy when he first met Hati, but has grown healthy and sleek since then. Personality: We are unsure if he can truely been seen as having a personality, as we have never seen him interact with his own kind. However, he apears to be rather fond of Hati, whom he follows around and repeats. He has an incredible memory and has been known to get lucky when stringing together words he has learned. Text color: Deep BlueUnder construction (I never made an attitude for him, but now that familiars can talk to wolves I suppose I should make one >>; )

In which they meet a Shaman In a better mood now, Ran was content to rest by the river and watch it's waters. It was something she'd gotten from her mother, without even realizing it.
Also without realizing it, she'd left Ran Squirrel in her dash away from her sibling. This didn't worry her, as she just couldn't see him being eaten by anything. He'd show up again, always did.
Regretablely without him, it was very boring. Rolling over onto her back, she gazed up at the dark sky and snorted. Hmph.
It had gotten darker.
Not much of a statement she supposed, it got darker as soon as it got light. In fact, it was probably the most mundain thing she had ever thought. That wasn't bothering her though. She was thinking about her new friend. Such an odd thought for her, new friend. It wasnt' something she was used to being able to say. She hadn't really had friends. Packmates, family, aquatiances. That was about it though.
She continued lacing her way down the river edge with a happy mindlessness, so much so that even though she knew she was going to stumble on a wolf she didn't care. In fact, it might be nice to see another face.
Her crow followed patiently, merely uttering, "wolf," as the neared the stranger.
Hati slowed as they aproached the other, and greeted the other wolf with a relatively calm call of, "Hullo."
Ran did little but blink at first. She'd been raised in a pack where no one ever just strolled up and greeted you. It was so large, she never knew half the members of it personally.
When she'd broken free from it, her parents and siblings, and come here, things had been no different. Thus, she was surprised to be approached so thoughtlessly. Not that she looked like anything to be afraid of, being as small as she was.
"Hello," the shaman responded in the same tone, gazing at the other.
Hati blinked at the almost distracted greeting from the smallish wolf. She hadn't expected that. I mean, sure, she hadn't expected a fanfair or an attack, but still. She took one step back, and Munin flapped overhead, aparently considering his landing options.
"Ah, are these your lands?" she finaly asked, feeling like a continued conversation was nessesary.
"No," Ran answered. "These lands don't belong to Ran. These don't belong to anyone." And even being dumb as she was, she was sure of that. Her mother had told her stories, her and her siblings when they were puppies, and all took place in these lovely, free lands.
Besides, the thought of her being able to control any area of land was laughable. "It's late," she pointed out, perhaps not aware how obvious that was. "Do you like the night more? Ran doesn't see many wolves out late like this."
"The night is as good as any time when you have got somewhere to go," Hati answered in a very hypothetical maner, rare for her, but this girl was weird.
"So, your name is Ran then? I am amazed that the lands are free, I have heard there are many wolves here," she added, realizing that she had already met many wolves, at least in passing. Many different wolves and many different situations.
"My name is Hati, by the way, and I am new to these lands."
"If someone tried to rule this place, they'd get killed very quickly," Ran offered. It was logical when you thought about it. She was positive the wolves here, most of which seemed to prefer the lone life, or at least the packless one, wouldn't take to well to someone attempting to rule over them.
To the question, she nodded, confirming, "Ran's name is Ran." Her ears twitched as the stranger introduced herself. Another habit from her mother. "Nice to meet you."
New to the lands? "Where are you from? Ran is from another land far from this one with lots of rocks."
"Rocks? I haven't seen any rocks in my journey. Well, not alot of them," she said vacantly, and then realized that she had, in fact, been asked a question. She felt like this wolf was making her a little loopy. Then again, it was late.
"I am from a forrest far away from here. I don't know where. A long way though."
"Oh," Ran said simply. Her eyes shifted back to the waters, and for a while she was quiet. Finally, "Ran would show you around, but there's not much to see. The lands are nothing special, it's the wolves in them that will tell you stories." Stories. Ran loved them more than anything almost. She'd believe anything you told her, but had she known a lot of them were fake still would've liked them.
"You don't seem to have a story to tell Ran."
Hati blinked at Ran's respose, and her companion finaly decided to land on a nearby stump, far enough away, she supposed, to fly off if he needed to.
The last statement bothered her a bit, "everyone has a story to tell," she said, uncertain why she was saying it, "but not every story should be heard," she finished, thinking of her home.
"Story should be heard."
She glared at the bird, usualy he repeated helpful things...
"And who's to decide what's worthy and unworthy of being heard?" It was late at night, like this, that Ran would reflect the rarely-seen quality that perhaps made her what she was, and so many others weren't.
Her eyes shifted to the bird, amused. Didn't see too many of them land these days, less they get risked being mauled by a puppy practicing his or her hunting.
"I would think the one who has the knowledge. Each individuals decision on what they want to be responsible for bringing into the world," she said calmly, seating herself easily and deciding to fully envelope herself in the discussion.
"Would you tell all of your stories?"
"Maybe." To the question, Ran smiled. Not a happy one, just a smile. "Ran has no stories," she answered honestly. Born and raised in her pack, then came here. She doubted it qualified as one. "Ran's job is not to tell stroies," she added. "Ran is a healer; Ran is a shaman. Ran doesn't have time to do things that would make stories for Ran to tell. It's late at night, when most wolves are sleeping like this Ran doesn't have to move any place."
"You are a shaman?" her voice hovered between disbeliefe and awe. The wolf had no reason to lie, but Hati had never come accross a shaman before, she had only the stories from her grandmother to go off of, and had an impression of incrediably kind, inteligent, all knowing beings. This small, scattered wolf hardly fit her ideas. Then again, it kind of made sense.
"If you are a shaman, you must have stories, of the things you have done and the wolves you have helped. I would think it would be one of your jobs, to warn people with stories," she added, watching the other wolf with a grown interest.[
"If you warn the reckless, you'll be healing them a day later," Ran laughed, getting shakily to her feet. Not standing up for an hour or two would do that to you. And she meant what she said.
Most wolves around here would dive head first into danger out of stubborness, pride, or just to show off. At least the ones she knew, most of them. "Ran is a shaman," she repeated.
Her back leg rose to scratch her ear, a thoughtful look on her face. "Who would want to hear those stories?" she asked, sounding a bit more Ran, a little less Shaman Ran now. "Ran wouldn't."
"I would. I think that no one want's to hear their own stories, they already know them afterall," Hati answered honestly, watching the wolf swtich a bit in personality. She seemed a little less dreamy now.
"I would think they would be filled with heros and fools, with many different stories from many different wolves. Maybe what this world needs is a story teller, but still, there are many stories," she added, "which their owners may not want to tell. Everyone does have secrets."
"Fools."
"Maybe, but there are as many liars as secrets, so those who claim to have none could easily be lying, and so Ran will never know for sure." Stretching her front legs now, Ran yawned and temporarily bared her small teeth. One had to wander how she made it out here, not being fast enough to take down a rabbit or large enough to take down a deer from what one could tell of her.
One eye open, Ran followed the butterfly that seemed to appear from no where and came to land on her shoulder. To all but her eyes, it would be nothing more than a yellow speck of light in the night, and not visible at all in the day.
The voice which it spoke it, would also go unheard to all but her.
There's another one, little one.
"So late?" Ran half-complained, knowing it to be hopeless to do so. "Alright, Ran will go." The butterfly seemed to approve, and faded away as quickly as it had come.
"Ran has to go," Ran muttered, obviously dissapointed. Company was a rarity these days aside from half-dead wolves, who weren't big talkers. "Take care."
The small light once again appeared, flickering off to the left. Nodding a farewell, the shaman stretched out quickly for a final time and dashed off.
Hati watched as the wolf made it's way up, and Ran answered her in a way that would take some time to wrap her mind around. The small wolf stretched and yawned, and hati blinked as a light tricked her eyes. she shook her head slightly and when she looked up the wolf was speaking to no one, and offered a ferewell with no explaination.
"Ah, you too Shaman," she called out a** the wolf hurried away from where she had been, wondering what called the other away.
Ran was an amazing creature.

Polite Meetings and "Familiar" friends Jestari He was sleeping again, snuggled comfortably in the snow on the ground. Such a bed could actually be very warm- or so he'd learned from his homeland. As such, the normally nervy Duhkha was calmer in this season. Calm, but not calm enough to be wary. Even in sleep, his ears flicked occasionally, following some sound.
As far as he knew, though, he was alone, and that was what mattered. Beat Fu Hati yawned widely, the grey sky making her tired and lazy. She had continued wandering the lands, though she hadn't actualy strayed far from the river. Her mind wouldn't let her for some reason. It was cold, and the snow was making the walking annoying, though not really affecting her progress. The boring days were now filled with learining. Not her, mind you.
"Trees," she said out of no where, aparently to no one. The answer came from the branches, where a now considerably better fed Munin followed."Trees." "Yeah, and-""Wolf."She stopped, and realized that there was indeed a wolfy smell about. That's what she got for not paying attention. She trained her eyes in the general direction, but only saw a lump.
"Is that really a wolf?" she wondered aloud.Jestari The sound of voices was all it took to wake Duhkha, if it didn't succeed in alarming him. The brownish lump that was him stirred a little, shaking his head to clear it of the crosseyed effect sleep had on him.
"Yeah, that's really a wolf.." He mumbled, turning a little to be able to see Hati. His nose twitched a little, taking in her own wolf-scent. "Duhkha."A short distance away, a smaller shade shifted slightly. Fox-shaped, it was... but too still to bother with. Sleeping again, th' lay-about.. mph, maybe this new wolf'll keep him up long enough for him to remember he's hungry. Tired of playin' nursemaid... Beat Fu Hati hadn't expected the wolf to respond, and hadn't even noticed she had asked her question out loud, though he did look a bit like a rock.
"Duhkha?" she asked, "Is that your name then? Sorry for waking you"
She heard Munin flap annoyingly behind her, and she looked about. Usualy he didn't interupt her, though when she smelled the reason for his distress she understood.
"Fox?""Fox"Jestari Encouraged when she only displayed curiosity and not superiority.. or gods forbid, aggression, Duhkha sat up, nodding. "Yes... It's my name." His ears flicked back for a moment at her apology, unused to it, and he ducked his head a bit. "Ah.. no, it's okay.. I shouldn't have fallen asleep, anyway..... What's your name?""Fox." Said creature ignored Duhkha's surprised glance when he stepped forward a little, shaking his fur in the sunlight. He'd hardly come out when someone ran the risk of seeing him, much less spoken at all. "Lancaster." He looked at the she-wolf shrewdly. Not many wolves liked foxes, after all. Beat Fu "I see, well Duhkha, m'name is Hati," she said in a friendly enough manner, although she was a little guarded still. The wolf seemed kind of nervous, and her expiriences told her that usualy their was a reason for it. She watched him until the fox decided to make himself more than a little known.
"Landcaster," she said, quirking an eyebrow and nodding her greeting. She wasn't going to mess with some little trickster, especialy since it seemed on terms with the male.
"Th'voices name is Munin. Though you probably won't see much of him."
The bird flapped a bit and flew to a further away tree.
"Especialy today it seems," she said with a small smirk. Jestari Lancaster shrugged at the statements, not much bothered by the shunning of a bird. "Nnh." Deciding that the she-wolf was safe enough, he settled down in the snow, crossing his chin over a paw. He still watched her, blue eyes marking her movements, though. A fox didn't earn his trickster nature by being lazy. <3"Er.." Weird fox.. "That's a nice name, Hati.." He looked at her curiously. "...What brings you to this area of the freelands?" It seemed he wasn't the only one who associated with non-wolven creatures... Beat Fu She watched the fox settle down and then turned her attention back to the wolf. Sitting down to listen to his questions, she sneezed and waited.
"Ah, thanks I suppose. I guess I'm just exploring. This place is huge," she added, looking back at the fox again. She figured they must be companions, which she might have considered strange if she hadn't been entertaining a crow lately herself.
"And yourself?"Jestari If she'd mentioned it, Duhkha might - might- have snorted in amusement. Lancaster.. had decided that Duhkha would starve if left to himself, and hadn't left him alone. That didn't save him from stinging words or the occasional prank...
Lancaster was a very, very odd fox.
In any case, the male nodded in agreement to her statement. "It is... Bigger than I thought it would be. I've been here a month or two.." He was more wandering than exploring. Curious, of course, but rathering not to stick his nose where he thought it wouldn't be accepted. Beat Fu She nodded at his statement, it was alot bigger than she assumed any land would be after she left her home. Not to mention that she knew that the area she was in was surrounded by packlands as well. It must have been grand to see from up above, she even considered heading towards a mountain, but it was pretty cold.
"What brought you here?" she asked, not really curious, but feeling like courtesy demanded it.Jestari "Er.." He shifted uncomfortably. Shame, he would have said. Expulsion from his snow-coated home lands. Failure to follow orders. His ears pinned themselves to his skull momentarily, before he forced them up again. "... A lot of things. What about yourself? Any reason in particular?" He coughed, changing the focus to Hati. He didn't like to dwell on what had happened to him.
Not that Lancaster let him, when he started to get depressed. Beat Fu "Change of scenery," she lied smoothly, shifting her feet as she watched the reaction of the male to her question. Must have been bad. Too bad for him, seemed like a pleasant enough wolf. Then again, bad s**t happened to good wolves. SHe almost got bitter again before she settled down and decided to breath.
"Anyway, the big shock around here is the number of singular wolves. There are alot of em about. I suppose I fit in the catagory too though," she said sarcasticaly, then decided to add "I don't think the crow counts.""The crow counts," he added from the background."Yeah, yeah," she said dissmissively. Jestari Change of scenery? .... Well, it wouldn't surprise him, he supposed. There were a lot of reasons to move. An odd expression on her face, though.. but it left too quickly for him to notice it too closely.
"Nn?" He shook his head, to bring it back to what was currently being said. "Ah- yes. There are enough wolves in the freelands alone to make a couple of packs easy.." Very odd. But, there were some very odd wolves.
He smiled a little at the crow's input. "Sometimes they band up... not a lot." He made a face. Not many lones seemed interested in losing that status. Beat Fu She looked at the crow for a moment longer before turning her attentions back to Duhkha. Strange wolves, she could vouch for that, she thought as she remembered Ran-Shaman and the abnoxious minty wolf. Let alone Tau. Yes, many strange wolves. "I suppose, but I can't understand it myself. Maybe you have to grow up alone. I don't know. Anyway, I don't plan on being alone much longer. And yourself?" she asked, realizing she was kind of babbling. Jestari Honestly, he was glad she was taking control of most of the conversation. He'd never been too outgoing, less so now, even if he was trying to get better at it. "I suppose..
"I.. don't really know. I want to spend more time improving myself before I join a pack." To be useful, really. He ducked his head slightly as he talked, self concious. "Any idea of the sort of pack you'd like to join?" Beat Fu She watched him, and figured he must have been a bit embarassed about something. That bothered her. No need to act weak, he looked strong enough to her. "I suppose your idea makes sense. I suppose I have gotten tougher since I left. Alot stronger than my pack." She glared, out into the distance before answering his question. "A tough one. With a few less crazy's then usual maybe," she added the later with an amused predators grin. Jestari He nodded slightly, though curious about her sudden bad mood. "Yes... Life in the freelands forces you to get stronger.. to survive alone, at least."Lancaster smirked at Hati's pack requirements, spreading his jaws in a smile. "Course." Everyone wanted a tough pack. He shot a glance at the fox, before looking back at Hati. "Yes.." He said slowly. "But that might be hard. There are a lot of .. crazies... in the freelands." Or at least odd ones. Beat Fu She watched his response to her statement with interest, his comment about living alone impressed her a bit. Not relying on others was something she held in high reguard. She looked at the fox and then decided to ignore the trouble maker. There was a reason most wolves didn't socialize with them. "Yeah, I suppose there are probably quite a few, however, I'm pretty crazy myself, so I hold a slightly more lenient definition," she said with a grin again. Jestari Lancaster closed his mouth, but continued to smile. Such picky things, wolves... Even picky on associates. Crows over foxes... How silly.Duhkha smiled as well, but not for such a cocky reason. "I think being crazy might be a requirement of the freelands..." He began to relax slightly, at the continued good conversation with Hati. "It shouldn't take long to find pack material like that." It occurred to him to ask what position Hati would take in her pack.. but didn't voice it because it was an idiot's question. Alpha, or beta at the least, he thought. She looked to be fit enough for those. Beat Fu She laughed happily at his comment. She hadn't met too many wolves here, but she was begining to think that perhaps all wolves were at least a little crazy. At least it made things interesting. "I hope not. I'm kind of getting bored of this wandering thing. Did you know that trees are in fact trees everywhere you go?" she asked him with a touch of amused sarcasm in her voice. It was nice to seem him relaxing a bit. She was a social wolf herself, which is probably why she had encouraged the crow to follow her.
