"Nah, I'm bored."
"Call one of your friends?"
"..."
"What?"
"I...don't know their numbers."
"Seriously?" Switch sighed heavily, smacking her face with her hand and leaving it there for a moment. Eventually, she dragged her hand downwards, fingers brushing her skin until it landed with a thud on her desk. Her hand, that was. Green eyes were focused in exhaustion on the boy with the skull face plate, who was grinning back at her as innocently as he could manage.
"Why don't you go home and play with Quinn?" She asked, referring to the newest addition to their family; the shark boy that had been just thrust upon them. Kay pouted, shaking his head sadly.
"He's out with Chit and Tek." He explained solemnly, turning a full scale 'play with me, Mom' pout to his obviously tired Guardian. She stared at him for a minute and pushed her chair away from the desk, patting him on the head (and narrowly avoiding getting bitten by Nahual, who was pat by accident).
"How's this...I'll go for a nap, and you watch the shop. That should be interesting, right?" Now, most kids would have gone 'ew, no' and ran away for fun, but...Kay was not most kids. Instead his red eye got wide and a huge grin fit onto his lips, clasping his hands together.
"Seriously?! Cool! BYE NA GO AWAY NOW!" Eager to make himself useful, he made shooing motions to his Guardian, who walked upstairs to a bedroom that had been there when the previous owners had this place.
Leaving Kay alone in the shop. Kay....by himself.
Scary.

Boston Roll was at best a beach bum, a bit of a lazy person by nature who would rather spend all his time surfing, swimming, and otherwise enjoying the fun that was the ocean. From time to time he poke around his Father's place to visit the man and his little brother, or go to his friend's house to drive the guy nuts as well as borrow his shower, but aside from that he was normally out and about. He did odd jobs from time to time to get a few bucks in his pocket, and he was rather happy with his life.
Currently though he was being assaulted by the one thing that made the life of a vagrant tough, "Hells, rain, rain, rain!" He said as he rushed down the side walk, looking around for a shop that would let him waste a spell of time inside without looking at him like he might rob the place. He pulled on his shoes as he ran and a shirt as well only because most places called for both, and turned to head inside a shop that looked rather interesting from the outside.
Roll looked from side to side as he entered, taking everything in, "Huh, must be one of those trinket shops." He mused to himself, or some sort of Salvation Army type places that sold everything. He shook the water from his mess of blond hair before he started to search around, deciding this was the perfect place to waste some time while he waited for the weather to clear up.

Kay had decided to 'help' his Na by doing everything he could to tidy up the place. He'd seen her try for months on end, but she always failed; the shop seemed to hate being tidied. But...he wasn't human, he was from the shop...which meant he could probably clean the old girl (or guy) up! Right? Right. The Logic was sound in his opinion, so he set to work. A few minutes later, a pile of junk had slid off of it's perch and buried the boy in an avalanche of things.
Well, this was going...interestingly.
Nahual hissed, shaking himself out from under a few papers and turning a very unimpressed stare down at his host. The moment Kay showed enough from the rubble, the feathered serpent bit him to prove his displeasure.
"Ouch! Nahual, you're not helping!" Kay whined loudly from under the pile, slowly digging himself out enough to sit up. He hadn't heard the door open and was mostly unaware of anyone else in the shop until Nahual was splashed with water...which again made him strike out and bite Kay, who retaliated with a swat.
"Ow! But I didn't do anything that time! ...Oh, Hey there!" Finally, he seemed to notice the blonde man who was...looking kinda wet? "Welcome to Balcombe Curiosities! You're wet. Is it raining?" He asked, half buried and looking at the man upside down. This new comer made him disinterested in digging himself out!

Roll turned to look toward where he heard a voice from, watching as the kid seemed to rise up from a pile of random things that he'd been buried with. He gave him a once over, his eyes settling on the snake he had coming out of his head and starred... though only for a moment. That was odd but at the same time he had a brother who had mushrooms growing all over him so who was he to decide what was and wasn't odd? He gave a bit of a smile, "Heh, yeah. The sky was threatening all day, just starting raining a short time ago." He was glad that he was already in town when it started.
"This is an epic shop you got here." He said as he picked up a random item, looking it over before he put it back. This place must be interesting to work at, made him wonder for a moment though why they were employing such young kids... must be hard up for help.

"Rain sucks. Unless there's mud, then it's awesome." Kay grinned at the blonde man, ignoring the still hissing Nahual. The serpent was NOT happy today. Not in the slightest. "Don't blame ya for comin' in here." His red eye squeezed shut in a rather excited fox-like grin while the skull eye remained forever open, and forever empty. When complimented on the shop, he pulled his arm out from under a book, giving a thumbs up...which was really a thumbs down because he was practically on his back again.
"Innit? It's my Na's...she's upstairs. I was bored so she let me watch the shop." Kay explained, biting his tongue for a moment before continuing. "I dunno why though, I think Na wanted me out of her hair." Well, at least he knew he was a handful? With a strained noise the dark skinned boy pulled himself out of the rubble, dusting himself off and holding out his hand.
"I'm Xbalanque! But you can call me Kay 'cause it's easier."

"I prefer the sun and surf myself, hard to camp on the beach when it sets to pouring down on my head." He said, couldn't say he minded mud or really cared about it one way or the other since there wasn't a whole lot of that at the beach. Damp sand sure but it dried out quick enough under the sun's light.
"Ohhh, heh. I see. Was wondering for a bit there if you were in charge of the place." He said then glanced over at the hissing, angry serpent for a moment, "Dude... your snake seems pretty ticked." He reached a hand out to give it a poke before jerking his hand back, feeling perhaps overly daring and unable to keep from seeing if the thing felt like a reason snake. How cool... though it must be tough having an angry, bitey thing growing out of your head.

Kay's eye went wide. "You can camp on a beach!?" Wow! That was cool! He'd have to ask Na to take him camping on a beach one day! A rather loud laugh left him when the guy admitted to thinking he was in charge, shaking his head. ""Nuh huh, not in charge...well, I guess I am right now!" Because Na was awesome and trusted him for some odd reason. "There's lotsa stuff here, obviously...feel free to look around! Some of it is really cool."
Nahual was staring at the blonde man with angry golden eyes, hissing even louder when the hand was lifted, his feathers ruffling and mouth opening in a display that clearly said 'stay away'. However it was poked, and it tried to lash out to bite the man, but was stopped when Kay's dark hand grabbed it's open jaws mid-strike, forcing them shut.
"Yeeeeeah Nahual's always in an epic bad mood. I don't think he's poisonous but it still hurts." He said happily, holding the writhing feathered serpent's jaws shut still. At least until he calmed down. The snake had bitten Switch on a number of occasions, but she was still more than okay. "You can touch him now if you want, I got 'im!"
Nahual did not seem pleased.

"Yep, its where I am found more often then not as its my favorite place." He said in a cheerful manner, glad to find someone that seemed to think that it was as cool as he did if Kay's look was to be believed.
He couldn't help but to laugh when the snake tried to take a bite out of him after he gave it a poke, always the sort to find foolish and dangerous things to be a lot of fun. He watched the way that Kay held the snakes mouth shut and he reached forward to pet it again, marveling at how it felt like a snake... so it was exactly like the animal except it was part of a person, "That is just straight up wicked." He murmured, mostly to himself, finding this kid with the snake to be one of the coolest things he'd seen in some time.
He gave a blink as though just recalling something, "Damn man, am I being ever rude. Were my Dad around I am sure he'd box my ears no matter my age." He said, "My name is Boston Roll Delano, just Roll though is fine as my name is way long." He had totally spaced off introducing himself when Kay had due to getting distracted poking at the feathered snake.

"He is really cool...just really rotten." Kay chuckled, shaking his head and letting the man pet Nahual for as long as he wanted. Of course the snake absolutely hated him for it, but he could deal with that later. Still, the Shaman boy seemed proud it himself. "I'd give 'im to you, but he's fused to my head...and I'm told it's really really thick so I guess I can't." Which was a pity, he really could do without getting bitten several times a day. He had enough of that with his baby brother.
"...'Box your ears'? What's that mean?" The boy asked curiously tilting his head but still holding onto Nahual; the blonde was still within striking range. Still, he grinned. "Nice to meet you, Roll! We both have reeeally long names." A slight pause, then...
"Wanna see some of the fun things I found?" Items in the shop, of course. Without waiting for a response he turned around, heading to the other end of the shop. There was a box of shiny things (As Kay went through a magpie phase), some mummified creatures (including a human made merbaby), some things that were just odd (including an eyeball in a jar of formaldehyde and what was probably a giant collection of already chewed gum) and of course Mrrh the shrunken head, sitting with his plastic bowling pins. "I collect things when I'm bored!" Which...pretty much explained everything.

"Doesn't seem he much likes me, so I doubt he'd like hangin out with me at the beach any more then he seems to liking hangin out here with me." He said with a laughing, giving the serpent one last pet before he withdrew his hand. Probably a good thing that the snake couldn't be handed off to someone else as angry as it seemed at being pet on so much while Kay held its snapping jaws closed.
"Never had that done? Lucky." He murmured, "Basically its getting cupped hands smacked against your ears. The smack doesn't hurt but the rush of air stings like crazy bad!" He shook his head just thinking about it then gave a laugh. At least he was far from the one who was likely to do that so he was good.
Roll found himself following along after Kay, looking from side to side at all the strange things that were sitting about the shop before he found himself looking at the collection. There was a lot of strange things that were sitting here to look at. His eyes widened and he tapped against the jar with the eye in it, "Eww... its totally looking at me." He said, laughing in amusement as the tapping caused the eyeball to move in the liquid and almost seemed to be starring at him. Creepy as Hell but awesome at the same time!
He turned to look at the shrunken head and chuckled, "You have a great collection here, Kay. Epic win all around." He compliment the kid and all of the things he'd gathered into his little horde.

Kay put a free hand over his ear, humming thoughtfully. No, that had never happened to him, luckily. "Na swats me a lot, but not my ears." So he knew what it was like, kind of...but getting one's ears attacked was frightening idea. One that Nahual would probably end up doing. Of course, the entire subject was dropped when they were looking at his things. Even Nahual was released, after a tap on the nose that pretty much told him not to pull stunts like he tried earlier.
"Yeeeeah it stares at things a lot. I think it's alive! It won't talk to me though, prolly 'cause it's an eye and not a mouth." Kay explained with a giggle before pointing to Mrrh the shrunken head with it's stitched up lips. "That's Mrrh, All he can say is mummble sounds so Mrrh is is name now! fOR Murmur." The little Shaman boy was proud of his ability to talk to things that (usually) nobody else could hear.
"Epic win..." Kay parroted as though committing it to memory; no doubt a new favourite phrase. After a mildly dazed look he grinned, looking from Roll to his magpie box. Humming, he dug through it until he pulled out a little, oddly shaped and gleaming blue thing. Kay could practically hear it calling out to Roll!
"Here! For you." Xbalanque informed him, offering him the...thing. "I can't tell if it's a dragon scale or a guitar pick...but I'm pretty sure it's a dragon scale."

Roll gave a blink as Kay explained to him about the items, about how the eye didn't talk to him since it was an eye, not a mouth, and about the mumbling sounds that the shrunken head spoke in. He gave a chuckle, "Sounds like an interesting gathering you have here."
Roll seemed pretty pleased to hear the boy mimicking the phrase he used often in his own speak, finding it to be pretty fun. He watched as the boy set to digging around through the box of items he had on hand to produce one of them, holding it out. He blinked a couple times and then reached out to take it, "Ohh, hey! That is a great color." He said as he held the item up, inspecting it. A dragon scale or a guitar pick? Those were two very different objects but he couldn't say that either was cooling then the other due to the color of this thing alone.
"Thanks a ton, Kay, this thing is made of pure win." He said as he flipped the thing around between his fingers.

"It is! Not much in the way of company, but still fun." He agreed, letting Roll take the Scale-pick from him. His red eye watched the man flip the coin between his fingers, clear awe in his expression. Epic Win, pure win...this man was awesome!
"Thanks! Um, No returns or exchanges." He grinned at his new friend, turning his head to look out the window...and of course a bit of disappointment hit him. "It's not raining anymore, Roll." The boy lamented; so the shop made it rain, did it? All in hopes that Roll would enter? That was neat because he made a new friend, but it also sucked because it could be over soon. "Are you gonna go back to the beach now?" Kay was both curious and disappointed; Roll was an adult (probably) and more than likely had things to do which he understood, but still...he was fun!

Roll gave a chuckle, "No refunds or exchanges, eh? Your quite the little salesman. No worries, I don't give back gifts." He assured the boy, just the idea of wanting to return or exchange the item seemed plain rude to him and hoped that nobody had ever tried to do that to the kid as they would deserve a good pummeling he thought to himself.
Glancing over his shoulder Roll looked out the window then a bright smile appeared on his lip, "Oh, excellent." He looked over at Kay and nodded, "Yeah, I will likely migrate back that way. You should come and visit some time, its a great place to laze about." He invited the kid, hoping that he would come by sometime, "I bet some sun would perk up your snake as well."
The pretty scale slash guitar pick was tucked safely away into the pocket of his shorts, "I'm gonna get rolling though, thanks for letting me take shelter and thanks for the gift, your a great kid, Kay."

Xbalanque just grinned at the comment about returning gifts. Na gave these kinds of gifts to a lot of people, and a few of them came back in a rage that was comparable to Nahual's. His grin seemed to get wider when it was suggested that he visit, nodding excitedly. "Yeah, I'll go! I don't think Nahual'll cheer up at all, but it'll be fun!" Excited at the thought of seeing Roll again made him forget how disappointed he was that the man had to leave.
"You're welcome! You're awesome too, Roll. Come visit again, okay? Bye bye!" The Shaman cheered, letting Roll leave without much of a fuss. Prior to the comment about the beach? A fuss would have been made. Luckily for everyone, he was appeased. Once Roll left, Kay turned to Mrrh and the eye in a jar, tsking his finger at them.
"You shouldn't tell people what the shop does! Especially you, Eyeball! What if they heard you?!" He sounded disappointed in it, but...what were the chances that Roll sound talk with the dead...or with the dead's body parts?
