Switch was alone in the shop for the first time in nearly two weeks. Ever since Kale had disappeared like he occasionally does, she'd been taking the boys to work with her. However, now that Kale was back the boys were with him at home...probably harassing the hell out of their new addition to the family. The Boy from the Shark Jaws was akin to a new toy, everyone (except for maybe the angry infant Tek) wanted to play with him.
The point was, for the first time in nearly two weeks, the shop was silent...she didn't know what to do with herself when it was silent like this. Hm. Instead, she stretched her arms above her head and leaned back in her chair, putting her feet up on her giant oak desk until something interesting happened.
Well, the good thing about not having to look after children was being able to relax.

Nathan really couldn't be sure what he was looking for. Sometimes he just decided to go into town without the dogs and walk himself, and when that happened he never knew what to do. As of the moment he was in an unfamiliar part of town, squinting through various windows and wondering if any of them had seen his nightly damage. So far it hadn't seemed like it, but something had drawn him here, and the thing within him was staying silent. That usually meant it had done something for him to stumble upon later.
It was the apparent randomness of the objects in the window that drew him into the store itself. He did so shyly (it was always so odd to be the only person in the store) and gave a little wave before slinking between displays. What a cool little place!

Switch jumped when the door opened, instantly lowering her legs from her desk and sitting properly, smoothing her hands over some papers she had sitting there. Holy crap, that scared her! Smiling like nothing was the matter, she waved to the new comer.
"Welcome! My name is Switch, I'm here if you need my assistance." She called after him, despite the fact he seemed intent on wandering along alone. The green eyed woman leaned back in her chair again, watching the man disappear...and getting that inkling that told her an item was about to get a new Guardian.
...Greeeeat. Another person to come back and yell at her. Under her breath the woman sighed, toying with a piece of her blue bangs. There were an aweful lot of items coming to life lately...interesting.

...what an awesome little shop. Nathan lifted a coin bank apparently made of leather and searched the bottom for a stamp of some kind. Eugh. Who knew what kind of flesh that was made of? Especially on Gaia. he traveled a bit further and felt something furry brush his wrist.
"FFF--!"
His head snapped toward the creature and he sighed, laughing slightly at himself. It was a rabbit. A stuffed ra--hold on a tic...
The young man lifted up the stuffed rabbit and peered at its head. Holy s**t, man! This was a jackalope! Well, as close to a jackalope as one could get. The stitching around the horns was nigh invisible (at least he couldn't see a lick of it), and the eyes looked almost real. He knocked on one. Glass. The fur wasn't mottled or moth-eaten or patchy.
Hrm!
This was...well, this was pretty cool! He couldn't imagine the dogs' reaction to it. Definitely a maybe. He stuffed the unfortunate critter under his arm and continued wandering, passing through view of the desk again.

Switch stayed quiet at her desk while the customer went searching, chuckling at the little noises she could hear from where she sat. The young man touched the Jackalope...and there it was, that chime that echoed in the back of her mind; the spirit in the Jackalope had reached out and grabbed onto this gentleman.
Poor sucker was going to be a Guardian soon.
Sighing to herself, she felt the inevitable; an invisible hand clamping over her mouth, ready to filter nothing but the knowledge of what was in store for the man.
Her head tilted when he passed by her, eyeing the taxidermied creature under his arm. So thats what it was, huh?
"You can just take that, It gives me the creeps!" She called from her desk; it wasn't the truth, in fact she'd never seen that particular item before, but he didn't need to know that.

Nathan perked and backtracked a bit, leaning back to look at the blue-haired girl behind the desk. He looked from her to the stuffed creature and then back again. Why not throw it out if it bothered you? He turned the jackalope in his hands and shook his head.
"Naw, I couldn't do that..." he said, trailing off.
"... really?"

"Really. I don't like throwing things out, but I've been waiting for someone to take it." The woman sounded relieved, scratching one of her hands through her shock blue hair. "Of course there's no returns or exchanges...but you can have it." Anything else? Totally needs to be paid for.
She stretched her arms out in front of her, then hoisted them up and over her head again. "It'd help me out a lot if you take it off my hands, so to speak." Yes, lay it on thick, Switch!

Once again, Nathan looked down to the jackalope.
"Well...okay." He should act fast, before the woman took back her offer. Sure, maybe it was a little selfish, but he made a moral deal with himself.
"I'll come back and buy something another day, I promise!"

"I believe you!" She waved with a sweet smile, watching the man leave the shop. Most of the Guardians ended up coming back at some point. Either to complain or to play with Kay. It was practically inevitable that he'd be back one day. She could just feel it.
"Have a great day~" Switch hummed out, resting her chin on her linked fingers.

"You too!"
Nathan left entirely unknowing of what was to happen to him in the very, very near future.
