After one calamity after another, the fighting has stopped. Humans have once again lost their place at the top of the food chain. The population is scattered across the globe in dozens of small cities.
Whole countries have been demolished, along with the need for world power. Now life is meager and modest. Ruins of what was cover the globe, returning to the earth.
In the dark of night, nature's calls lay them to rest, as the wild once more begins to thrive.
Among the many adapting to the renewed freedom, are the wolves. Those that have kept to their natural self thrive, knowledgeable enough to survive without the humans around. Others barely manage to escape their cages, only to find themselves barely alive without the offerings they once had.

Find your way to the wild and rejoin your brethren. Learn from them, you have lived your whole life dependent on the fur-less primates that once were. Tread carefully, you know nothing of the ranks and how a glance at the Alpha female can lead to your death.

You have never been caged, the stench of humans is unnecessary for survival. Maybe you look down upon them, distrustful and full of hatred. Or maybe with curiosity, in awe of their creations yet disconcerted by such waste. Humans have become scarce, making you feel at ease and rekindling your joy of running with your pack.

While relocating his pack else where a band of hunters appeared from what seemed like nowhere. They had no scent until they appeared right infront of them. Almost instantly the pack was surrounded. The humans didnt wait a second more. They pulled out knives and jumped the wolf nearest to them. Deimos shredded 3 of the men but there were soo many that only him and his mate survived the onslaught. Later his mate died of her injuries and he swore revenge on the humans. One in particular named "Kurian" the last name he heard as the last of the humans ran away. He now travels on his own following that scent and also helping other wolf packs in danger in order to prevent the same thing happening again. Morning dew drips off blades of grass as birds flutter their feathers in morning routine. Plants rustle as creatures scuttle along, scavenging for nuts and seeds. The cool breeze flows up, over and around branches. The sun lay low in the horizon, slowly making its way to its rightful place in the sky.
A beautiful beginning to a new day.
Hidden deep in the forest, nestled in the warmth of a small cave, lay a group of canines. A small pack of wolves slowly awakening from slumber.
Their leader, Terra. sits at the entrance. Wide awake, as usual, her ears twitch in response to the soft sounds of the forest. She is anxious, being near an old human territory brought back old memories.
As soon as the others had awoken properly, they would make their way deeper into the forest, away from the symbol of destruction. Possibly, away from ailing comrades.
Terra has seen them before. Those who have led lives of pets, being fed and kept locked away. Those contempt with dependency.
The raven black she-wolf groaned in annoyance. She would have to wait. With luck, they would not meet one of those 'stray pets' today.

And of these cut-throat busted sunsets,
these cold and damp white mornings
I have grown weary..."  
Terra levels her gaze at slight movements. Sitting at the entrance of the den, slightly above the forest's undergrowth, she is still feeling quite anxious. She stands, stretching her limbs by reaching out forward and stretching back with a long yawn. With a quick glance at the snoozing furs inside, she decides to scout the area.
Terra bounds down from her post, limberly moving into a light canter. Her ears swivel, twitching and turning in response. The morning seems all too quiet.
Her dark eyes seem to pause, her body doing so as well. Her tail lays at level with the ground, her muscles tensing. A scent, a new one, lingered on a nearby tree. She remained motionless until she was quite sure that the scent's owner was no where near her.
Moving closer, the scent seemed to be wavering. The mark had been made last night, relatively new. Making a sound of annoyance by expulsing a quick burst of air through her nostrils, she left her own mark, her scent overwhelming the old one.
Content with her deed, she began to circle around, making her way back to the den.
"...There's a lot of ways to die.
Listen, Some already did that walked beside me.
Its the hurt I hide that fuels the fire inside me.
Will I always feel this way?
So empty, so estranged..."

Kasha slowly opened her eyes, awakening from her repose in the cave. She looked around, taking a moment to observe the pups huddled together; then she carefully rose to her feet, yawning loudly and shaking her entire body.
Little by little the rest of the pack began to rise, shaking off the last remnants of sleep. The pups were the first to awaken, their yelps serving as a wake up call for the older pack members. Full of energy, they hastily made their way towards the entrance of the cave, only to be stopped abruptly by a protective Kasha. She lowered her head, and nudged the pups further back into the cave, eliciting whines from the adventurous little devils.
Though the morning was still, Kasha knew better than to be careless. She could still remember the last human attack and the scars it left behind in the pack. Kasha paced around the cave momentarily before sitting near the cave wall, positioning herself so she could keep an eye on the pups nearby and be observant of the greenery outside.

[=Ƞʘḻﬤᶙϟ=]  <-Ϟ-> The starving wolf rummaged through the supplies of a human encampment. He burrowed his nose into bags of leftover meat from the human's last hunt. He sunk his fangs onto the carcass, and bit off a chunk. The humans still slept soundly, and he had eluded the guard who was tired from his night watch. It was his breakfast, his first meal in some time. He was lost, agitated, and desperate. The scent of his companion grew fainter everyday. He had taken some steps outside the encampment to devour the piece of meat. An early bird, a young man spotted Noidus. The nomad were alerted, the solitary wolf scowled, he sensed danger on his way. In short time five carrying spears darted towards Noidus. To fight, or run, those were his choices. He stood firm on paws, and glared at the incoming threat with his bright yellow eyes. A spear was launched at him, he leap sideways, and began dashing in a crescent motion. He pounced on the leftmost man that lost his balance due to fear. Noidus snarled, the other four nomads simultaneously rushed to impale him. In an instant jumped on a spear, and used it a bridge. The wolf crunched one the men's should, with his hind legs he struck the man's gut. Most people were already alerted, the angry Noidus knew he couldn't fare against all of them. He released the man, blood seeped from his fangs. He turned around, and bolted out the premises of the humans. He ran until he had no strength left, collapsing upon a hill.

Terra stopped, she smelled smoke. Lifting her head into the air she circled slowly, searching for the source. As the scent grew stronger she made her way farther away from the den. It didn't take long for her to find herself at the edge of a human camp.
Her ears pulled back, tail stiff, she crouched and snuck closer. How had they come so close to her clan? How had she not noticed them until now? She cursed herself watching as the humans scurried around. She could smell their panic, they were drenched in the damned stench.
There was blood, fresh blood. Circling around the edge of the camp, she eyes a few men gathering. They bore scratches and handled heavy spears. They stood in a circle around another being. Curious, Terra inched forward to catch a glimpse of a man bleeding. His shoulder was bleeding freely and her had lost consciousness.
Her eyes formed slits, they had been attacked. Snorting once more, she turned tail and ran back towards her den. Whoever had attacked the humans had stirred them up. They would be searching for vengeance. She needed to move her family before they found the cave nearby.
She jumped up onto the ledge, almost landing on Kasha. With a yelp, her paws slipped and she fell on her side panting heavily.
"Kasha!" she whined, annoyed at her second-in-command. She jumped up and glared at her. "How many times do I have to tell you not to lay your lazy butt at the entrance?!?"
"...There's a lot of ways to die.
