A "Breeding" is whenever two Shakaiyo mate, oh la la! The owners of the two Shakaiyo will receive some baby pets that grow from the basket stage. These babies, like any babies, will grow into adulthood with their parent's genetics in mind.

Breedings are not always open.
Each colorist has a thread in the Breedings board, where they announce when their breedings will be open. If breedings are not open for a particular colorist, do not ask for one.

Breeding Rules:

• You may only get ONE breeding each time a colorist opens their breeding slots.

• You may only breed your Shakaiyo once a month.

• You may only breed each Shakaiyo four times.

• You may only WIN a max of two breeding slots per month. You may enter two couples for that slot, but you will have to choose which of your couples gets it should you win.

• Shakaiyo do not have to mate for life, but they can if they choose.

• You may not breed a Shakaiyo with it's family members.

• DO not PM Colorists or the Mule to find out when Breeding slots will be opened.

• No guilt-tripping or making people feel bad if you do not get a breeding slot.

• Make sure to fill out the ENTIRE breeding form.

• Once you send in your form, it cannot be changed. (Unless its to add uncerts or throwbacks)

• The colorist is the one who will decide how your babies will look, if you don't like the way one of your babies looks, please don't complain. Breedings are luck of the draw (just like in real life, haha)

• You May co-own babies. Maximum of two people / Shakaiyo

• You may only own ONE basket. You may not own one and co-own another. ONE.

• Please make sure you are aware of what type of breedings are being opened by the colorist.

• Breedings are not Roleplay required. However, if the parents must have completed at least three pages (or 45 posts) of roleplay together (just the two of them), they will more pups from the breeding. For more information on the roleplay, go HERE.

• You breed Cosplays, but if your cosplay has a cannon son/daughter, your baby will most likely not resemble them. Breedings will be a combination of the parent's genetics.

• When you win a breeding slot, non-RPed pets get two baskets. RPed pets will get three baskets with a 25% chance of a fourth basket. If there are extras, both owners must agree on what happens to them (they can be given away or the owners could divvy them up somehow).

• If the owners choose to give away extra baskets in contests, they must first PM the mule for permission, and then set up the contest in the mini-event thread in the guild.

• Payment must be sent within 24 hours. If payment is not received within 24 hours, custom slot may be given to another user.

• Refunds will not be given - They are only given in the case that the colorist does not finish your breeding. Ie: They leave Gaia, quit the shop, etc.

When you chose two pets to breed, keep in mind that the babies will look like a combination of those two pet's 'genetics'. This means that if one of your pets has wings, and one doesn't, your babies may have wings or they may not. It is all luck of the draw. Edits that are permanently attached to the pet, such as horns, wings etc. have a 50% chance of passing down if one parent has the edit and one does not. If both parents have the same edit (such as two pets with demon wings), then the babies will have that edit.

Clothes and hair edits (things that are not permanent) will be less predictable, but will tend to be modeled after the parents.

Colorschemes and markings be mixed together. Think of the results of two dogs breeding in real life. If you breed a Shakaiyo with brown spots with a yellow Shakaiyo, you may get a yellow Shakaiyo with brown spots, or a Shakaiyo with yellow spots, or both! It is pretty impossible to predict.

Injury edits (such as a missing eye) will not be passed down. The vast majority of Shakaiyo pups are born healthy.

The gender of your pups will be random.

When a colorist opens their Breeding thread, to request a Breeding, you simply need to post the following form in the thread, giving the details of your breeding.
