Okay, so I've been thinking a lot about this...it came to me one day when i was stoned from pain killers while i was in the hospital. Again this is just a theory.

This is my theory of how the Silent Hill franchise came to be.

Throughout the games it talks about a drug called "White Claudia" which has the effects of hallucinations. This i believe could a "street name" for crack or cocaine. This leads me to believe the original writer of Silent Hill may have come up with the idea as he was battling with an addiction or knew someone battling addiction to this drug.

The nurses could symbolically be the care givers in a rehab, Pyramid Head could be just as he is the game, Judgment and Punishment. The other creatures could symbolize a multitude of things.

The Lying Figures: This could symbolize the creators in feeling of sickness, for the monsters spews acid and has no arms. Leading me to believe he spent soem time in a mental institution for a bad trip.

Now again this is just a theory but if you want to provide evidence you can, if you want to try and disprove it you can....this is just a theory and its open to thought.

It really does sound like a plausible theory, but I believe there is a book or article out there from the creators who explain the reason. I'll keep an eye open.
