Intro

This will slowly walk you through every step there is in character creation.
Everything is explained here, even what certain stats do. Go through all of the character creation guide before PM'ing a mod for assistance. Basically we want you to read all of these and at least try before making a mod explain it simpler for you should you need it.

Step - 1 Concept:

Before you even begin, start thinking of a concept. Your stats should revolve around your concept rather than revolving your concept around your stats. This makes for a more enjoyable and deep character.
Do you have a Shinobi whom was cast out of his or her village, torn between returning to pay for their crimes or living a harsh life on the road?
Or maybe you have a brilliant student who always has their face smashed into a book, hoping to one day be able to become known as the best medic ninja in your village but know you must master the art of Genjutsu first?
There's many possibilities, finding out what you want your character to be, their attitude, motivation, etc is part of the fun of playing that character.

Step - 2 Stats:

Stats are fairly straightforward. You start with a stat pack of 40/30/20/20.
One set may be applied to any of your group stats (Resolve, Taijutsu, Ninjutsu, or Genjutsu). You then spend those points from the set you choose among the sub stats.
-Note, any points put into Chakra or Stamina count as 100 per point placed rather than 1pt = 1 like the other stats have.

For Example: Jin starts out and decides he's going to want a lot of sustainability so he decides to put 40 in his Resolve. He then takes the pack of 30 and decides he wants to be better at Ninjutsu than any other Group-Stat so he puts those into Ninjutsu. Lastly he's left with two packs of 20 so he tosses those in Genjutsu and Taijutsu.

Now it's time for him to take those packs and divide their points up among each Sub-stat in the group stat he applied them to.
So he looks at Resolve, he has Chakra, Stamina, Focusing, and Toughness.
Jin decides that Chakra and Stamina will be very important so he applies 15 to each of them giving him 1,500 Chakra and 1,500 Stamina. He then decides that toughness is also going to be important, so he tosses 8 in toughness and puts his remaining 2 into Focusing.

Jin repeats this process with Taijutsu which he picked a pack of 20 for. Placing 15 points in agility and 5 into strength.
This same step continues with Ninjutsu and Genjutsu until all his packs have been divided up.

Step - 3 Affinity. Clan, and Village:

Choose the chakra affinity your character starts out with.

Choose a Clan and Village that you belong to.

Villages don't grant any real benefit, however some may have upgraded buildings, troops, etc a well as other members you may wish to team with so this is a very important decision.
Each Village's benefits can be found within a Country's Info thread.

Step - 4 Putting it all together:

He's now ready to get started so he fills out his profile by using the profiles skeleton. Once he's done this he heads on over to the Basic Update Request Thread to post it up for Mod Approval.

Character Resets
It is possible to change your character once you have one. There are a few ways this can happen.
One is when your character hit's dying from critical hits and fails their recovery checks over the allowed time to make them. Another is by optionally resetting them (ie you get tired of your old character and just want to try something new).

Optional Reset:
When you "choose" to reset your character you use the same example shown above for "dead", however there are a few exceptions.
If you are level 20 or below you may use a single free reset with no penalties.
...If it is your second reset, or you are above level 20, you lose 2 levels + 2 lost more per time you've chosen to reset your character optionally in the past.
...When you reset optionally your experience goes down to exactly what you would normally gain to achieve said level.
...NOTE if you are purposely trying to kill yourself for no sensible reason (mods discretion) only to get around this cost and use the normal "dead" reset options without a level loss, we WILL still count it as an optional reset. i.e, no trying to cheat the system.
