The first thing Song noticed was this odd urge bubbling inside her body, a restless feeling that was unlike anything she'd ever encountered. It was an urge to get up and move, to take the skies and fly hard and fast, and it started to nag at her the moment she had found her way back to Y'ul's side. It wasn't in response to her seeing Erath for the first time, Song's feelings over the massive Green basically happiness that her person had someone else to be with too, but instead it was something more primitive.
More sexual, if you will.
The urge caused her to crawl away from Y'ul after sending the young woman some very interesting thoughts, all mostly jumbled and consisting of a red vision, and slowly she started out towards the empty hallway. She had to find the source of this urge, the need to go into the sky, and slowly her wings started to spread as she let out a loud hiss.
Come! It was time!

Nothing cured a good bout of depression caused by your... whatever she was... leaving to an isolated region without you like a good, old fashioned Hatching, right? Not exactly, but Avery had attended with her family nonetheless, finding herself heartily amused by the large bronze to make his appearance near the end of the event.
She felt no particular pleasure over the fact that Telgar suffered the embarassment, but rather laughed at the situation as a whole. Her family, trading with both Weyrs via High Telgar Hold were not ostracized from the celebrations, but she was ready to go home.
Sparta didn't particularly like ANYTHING other than Avery and had been screeching the entire time and Adorn, well... He seemed unusually preoccupied, in fact---
Avery's head snapped up to the sky at the sound of a choked firelizard cry, hearing an unfamiliar rumbling growl tear out of her usually friendly, observant bronze. A firm grip to her shoulder by his claws and he leapt into the air, disappearing Between only to appear quickly just behind a gold firelizard.
Brows shot high, Avery watched the two until they disappeared over a rise in the Weyr, a few browns and another bronze trailing after.
"... Well, then." So much for leaving right away.

No sooner had Song hissed into the air, her eyes an unusual purple for her nature, then several bronzes appeared behind her answering her call. They two had felt the urge, all of them beasts she had never seen before, and Song gave another hiss before she took into a small run. Her wings were folded tightly against her body as she moved, her legs strong against the ground as she pulled into a faster pace. When it seemed like she would only stay on the ground forever, her beautiful wings only for show, she launched herself into the air with a fierce scream!
". . . what the shardin' hell is going on?"
Y'ul had walked out into the hallway just in time to watch her flitt pull into the air, her wings rushing her forward quickly before she darted out of sight, and the young woman raised an eyebrow in mild amusement.
"Guess she could fly after all. Watch her go."
No cousin is truly ever grounded. You should not have doubted.
Erath spoke her piece at Y'ul's side, her uninterested gaze somehow following the little Gold one.
"I didn't ask for your opinion."

"That's yours, then?" Avery's honeyed voice entering their conversation as she looked between the dragon and weyrling. She'd seen them on the stands, Y'ul's utter disbelief when she got the laziest dragon around. Avery could feel a smile tugging the corner's of her full mouth.
One long, slim finger pointed to sky as they came back into view again, two specks, one a darker golden hue and one bright as a canary with a short distance behind them. "That's my Adorn."
Bright eyes slid smoothly over Y'ul, calculating. "Congratulations, by the way." She reached over to hold out a hand in greeting. "Avery, of Katz Field, Ista Weyr, and finally High Reaches." She seemed amused at her own introduction.

She returns. She's satisfied now, he has been with her.
"I don't need to know she had sex. Keep it to yourself and out of my head."
Y'ul had managed to get a last bite in at Erath before a voice entered into her ears and she swung her head to the side to view the speaker, a scowl set deeply onto her face. She was about to snap back that of course the Gold was hers or she wouldn't give a flying wherry about the whole sharding thing, but the fact that the person who greeted her was someone she did not know made her rethink that - even more once the woman mentioned the beast that had just flown Song to belong to her.
"Adorn, eh? The Gold he just got a piece of is mine alight, I call her Song. Didn't think the runt would ever fly."
When a hand was extended to her Y'ul took it without a second thought, giving it a rough shake before letting it go and mumbling thanks under her breath for being congratulated. It still hadn't quite sunk in, and she was still rather pissed that her dragon was so...well. Anyway.
"Y'ul, of Green Erath. Formerly of High Telgar Hold and Healer Hall I guess, though it looks like I'm going to be laying my bed here at Telgar for a long, long while."
We'll be fine here together. You'll like it.
"Anyway, what brings you here? Didn't think anyone from High Reaches would be showing their faces here any time soon."

Her own handshake was firm, rather than rough, and clearly professional. SHe shook hands with men quite often, when they made a deal or they needed to be put in their place.
That taken care of, Avery flapped a hand briefly as if she could wave away the notion Y'ul was trying to pass on to her. She held no particular loyalty to High Reaches, just as she hadn't for Ista. The Weyrs rivalries were not her own and she didn't think much of them, except for when they interfered directly with her plans. They hadn't so far. Other than that pesky plague business [which, really, seemed like a pale person's disease].
"Looks like she's quick to learn when she gets started, then. Adorn's a bit of a wee lizard himself, the darling." She seemed to have no qualms about examining Y'ul, running her light, hazel eyes over the short-haired female as she casually evaluated her. Competent, a bit gruff, fit.
"Well, enjoy that. I think if one of your dragons had called for me, I might've hid, rather than place my bedroll in the same weyrlings' barracks as some of your fellows." Her grin showed that she was simply stating the truth, not a judgement and she shrugged her shoulders. "I'm not really from High Reaches, remember? I spent far more time in the Istan sun, and to be frank, enjoyed it much more. There's more room in Weyrs up here, but that's about it."

"Ah well, I tend not to care where people lay their alliances. A Weyr's a Weyr and a Hold's a Hold, both generally full of unpleasant people or those who seem good enough to be around. I've never had problems wherever I do, but it seems problems find me in one way or another."
Erath, she reminded herself quickly as she felt a little tug at her heart, was not a problem. She was certainly something different to try and understand, yes, but not a problem. Not at the moment anyway, but should the dragon refuse to move her a** when the time came then yes - a problem then. Those thoughts seemed to settle Erath, who had been giving Y'ul a mental frown at all of this, and Y'ul made sure to mention that Song getting screwed was the problem right now. There would be things to follow neither of them wanted.
"And yeah, if one of our dragons had reached for you I'm sure the Weyrwoman would have dropped dead where she stood - not that I'd have minded. I've never been interested in the politics here, both women and their dragons can go far away for all I care, but I suppose without that witch rising I'd never have gotten Erath. I don't know if I should be thankful towards her or something else. But Faranth, I'm going on like a sharding Weyrbrat at their first touching."
Y'ul rubbed the side of her temple with her fingertips, praying that her odd mood today was because of the hatching, because of Song's sudden desicion to make herself a true Queen, and anything else that came in between. Otherwise she was just degrading into a chattering twit.
Speaking of Song, the Gold was slowly returning. She was brightly hued, nearly glowing, and Y'ul frowned.
