"SERAH, YOU GET BACK HERE."
The voice echoed after her as Serah scrambled out of the car, as soon as the door opened, her mother's annoyed tone calling out after her. Her father was in the car, giving Serah the signal to flee while he tried to calm her annoyed mother down. he waved at her good-bye, his hand comfortingly patted his wife's shoulder.
Hopefully, he would be successful.
She shifted her bunny bag over her shoulder, an aggravated sigh escaping as she gained distance from the car. Missing a day here and there.. Well, Serah didn't consider it a problem as long as she made it up. Her mother was making a fuss over nothing-- it wasn't as if Serah wanted to dive into the real world of training, experience and eduction. Couldn't she enjoy her high school years a little longer?
What an ironic sentence. She thought of her 'high school life.' It wasn't enjoyable so far-- not when she was always down about something. Hm. Well she had an entire day free and she intended to make use of it.

High school life was thankfully over for the individual strolling nearby named Damon Amary, although he wouldn't exactly say that he was free from it all. Not yet. Just when he had left Hillworth (graduated really, but left seemed like a more appropriate word), he was made to enroll at Sovereign Heights.
That wasn't the only thing he was made to do by his parents, however.
The other thing was the full ownership and responsibility over a puppy. An overenthusiastic Goldendoodle, to be exact, and it had went from being 'Delphine Jr' to simply 'Del', and upon further bitching by his sister, it was settled that her name was now Belle, since it sounded pretty close. It didn't really matter; sometimes he still slipped out and called the puppy Del.
One of the responsibilities that came with this puppy was to walk it. It wasn't really much of a problem; he liked going out for walks, runs even, but he had originally found it a bit troublesome to have to hold onto the leash while doing so. And so, instead of running, he was just walking, while sighing every time Belle stopped to sniff at something. "There's nothing there." Damon muttered, tugging on her leash. "C'mon, let's get a move on."

Serah was humming the various theme songs of pokemon as she walked around the block. She was headed somewhere-- anywhere that interested her. Perhaps the candy store. To refill her half-filled bunny bag that already had various candies in it.
It didn't hurt to refill it some more after all.
While digging back into her bag, head turned slightly to the side, facing down, she bumped into something. Something at her feet. Not a person-- but a puppy? A reaallly cute puppy. She automatically bent down to pet it, without the consent of it's owner. Suddenly remembering that you know, you were supposed to ask for permission, she halted to look up at it's owner, saying the first thought that came to her mind.
"I dont think I've seen that school uniform before. It looks really good. Where do you come from?" She asked curiously, skipping introductions for the moment. In comparison to meadowview or hillworth uniforms, Serah had to admit that this was a far improvement.
"I hope that you're not mad about me petting the puppy." She said, as if it was the most important crime here. It probably was, to Serah.

"SHP." Damon said shortly in return, not exactly fazed by the young girl that had been drawn by Belle's attention. At first, he had just stood there and practically glowered at the few schoolgirls that had gathered around the puppy and were squealing over how cute she was, but he had gradually come to be used to it, and therefore, ignore it. Ignoring them was the best way to go about this, and sensing his hostility, they would hopefully just go the heck away. It was noticed that Damon did not pronounce 'SHP' like most people did; he did not say 'Shlip' but said it out as 'Ess-H-Pee' instead.
"She likes everyone." He muttered with a shrug, and this was evident by the constant wagging of Belle's tail in delight that someone was paying attention to her. In his mind, and sometimes he had declared it to his family, she was the 'easiest dog to kidnap' and was rewarded from a few glares from his parents.

SHP...?
Oh. Ah. That college prep that Serah had heard so much about. She was content to stay at Crystal Academy because the uniforms at Sovereign heights didnt seem to attract her attention so much. Which was why she didn't hold too much interest for the school. Sure, it was nice mini-skirts but it looked so horribly formal and adult-like.
Serah seemed to mirror his thoughts, petting the puppy curiously. Clearly, she wasn't going away. "If she likes everyone, aren't you concerned that someone might kidnap her?" She could imagine a stranger running by, WHOOSH, grab the puppy and flee. The puppy might happily bark in the stranger's arms. She looked up, the puppy sniffing her bunny bag with it's wet little nose. Serah did a light karate chop on the puppy's head with a stern voice.
"Nono, there's wasabi lollipops in there. You're not going to be able to handle that little puppy." She closed her open bag from the puppy's prying nose, pushing the insistent puppy away. Where she had gotten such an interesting packet of lollipops.. remained mysterious.

Damon on the other hand, liked the uniforms, more than he had liked Meadowview's and Hillworth's anyway. He did however, like to loosen his tie most of the time, deeming it choking when he was made to wear it properly with his collar buttoned up. Now that he was out of school, he didn't care; it was unbuttoned and his tie loosened. "Anyone tries and I'll run after them and teach them a lesson for stealing." He said simply, and it was rather hard to tell if he was serious or not. He was a pretty decent runner anyway, since his four years in high school were all occupied by sports.
Belle only blinked curiously up at the pink-haired girl and yapped in protest, straining forward on her leash in curiosity. In response, her owner tugged her backwards with a grimace. "Goddammit, you don't want to eat anything to do with wasabi, Del--" Pause. He had slipped up a bit there, but oh well, Delphine was nowhere within earshot anyway. "It's disgusting."

Serah took his warning as it came, assuming he was serious. After all, if he wasn't, why say it? She heard his comment about the wasabi lollipops, sounding a similar agreement.
"It is quite unusual. But just so we don't get off on the wrong foot, I didn't buy it for the flavor. It came with a really cute stuffed--- accessory." She didn't want to say 'stuffed animal' outright, the man would assume she was an elementary kid or middle school, like everyone else. She was tired of assuming people who treated her like so.
"Oh!" A fist hit an open palm, as if a new idea had just occurred to her. "I do have..." She trailed off, digging inside her bunny bag, pulling out a small bag that seemed bigger than the bunny bag itself. It seemed nearly impossible for her to pull out but.. she did. It was a small bag of doggy treats, attached to an army of lollipops. Apparently, they had been sold together as a gift to entice children into buying that brand of doggy treats.
Someone had fallen for it.
"I was going to give these to some random person on the streets but you count-- OH. I promise that they're not poisoned or anything! See, new packaging!" She said hastily, revealing the pretty package as she took the lollipops off. She offered one to him and it wasn't wasabi, thank god.

"...ah." He muttered in response, tugging on the puppy's leash once again, although Belle was relentless in her search for some kind of treat from this girl. It was strange what people could be made to buy sometimes just for the free gifts. It honestly sounded rather strange to him; why buy something ridiculous to get a free gift you wanted? There could be other ways in getting that free gift right? Tsh.
Belle had considerably brightened up upon the sight of the doggy treats, stepping forward to nose and sniff at them, then looking up at Damon and yapping at him with a wag of her tail. "You've already eaten." He huffed in reply. "You don't want to get fat." At this, Belle whined, then went back to nose the bag of treats once again. Damon only could sigh and roll his eyes.
"Nah, no thanks." He said, eying the lollipop with a measure of distaste. "I don't really eat lollipops."

"She won't get fat. I'm sure you'll help her work off the weight-- She's still young. Girls dont get fat until they grow older anyways." Serah said with the wisdom only a girl could have-- always self conscious about their weight. Even Serah. But she ate all that sweet stuff anyways-- she had to eat it while her metabolism was still working fast, right?
"That's a shame. I eat anything sweet I can get my hands on." To demonstrate, she opened her bag slightly to reveal a large selection of hard candies to soft candies. (She would fit ice cream in there if she could. Really.)
She kneeled down, watching the puppy eat the doggy treats in obvious enjoyment. "It'd be nice to have a puppy. Unfortunately, I don't think my responsibility level is nearly high enough to take care of a pet." She murmured out loud, petting Belle with the same eagerness as a little girl who saw her first puppy.

Damon only looked at the pink haired girl with a sort of befuddled expression on his face; like really? She was comparing Belle, a dog to human girls? He wasn't about to let his dog become a lazy fat thing like the cat they kept at home. Ever.
"You'd have to brush your teeth a lot, I imagine." He said brusquely, now looking partly disinterested and partly horrified that someone would carry that many sweets around. But then again, it wasn't his problem, right?
"It's not as easy as everyone thinks it is." He muttered with a sigh. Then again, that had been the whole point of his mother gifting him the puppy on purpose...

Serah didn't answer the comment-- Crystal girls did not talk of useless or crude things like how much times they brushed their teeth. Surprisingly, she never made more than one trip a year to the dentist.
Before she could answer his careless remark, Serah heard a very familiar shout from down the street. Her father was holding her mother's arm back from exiting their chauffeured car, the driver looking very hassled and making subtle motion for Serah to exit. "Exit now." So the hand motions read. Unfortunately, Serah's mom had already caught sight of her-- which didn't prevent the pink-haired girl from fleeing the scene.
"It was nice seeing you, SHP guy!" Serah said hastily but cheerfully, scrambling in a flawlessly executed jump over the short fence, obviously having a lot of practice to escape such situations. The light "tap tap" of flat heels against the pavement only lasted for a few seconds before disappearing into the distance.
