Li Wei: 5:12 pm He was sore all over. Even for a god, he'd been pushed to his limit. Running for days was fine, for a god it was nothing. Once Feng had figured that out, he had the cub climbing up rocks, pushing boulders around, and sparring with the larger, stronger members of the troupe. Squall had been gentle- but the massive lion didn't know his own strength. Li never complained where anyone could hear him, but on his own he was all groans and wobbles. ON occassion, very rare occassion, he'd retreat to the god's haven for a break from the mortal world. Squall never liked it when he did, but it allowed him to escape Feng's early morning call- and breakfast. He shuddered. The last time the white cheetah had hauled back a dead baby gazelle, it's throat split open, dusty pelt bathed in blood- He made a quiet 'urp' sound and covered his mouth with the back of his paw. Once his stomach had settled once more, the young god plopped himself down in the grass and sighed. At least it was quiet here too. The Chokwe never slept. There was always someone up. Fakhir, a cranky hyena, was paranoid as they came. He prowled the troupe's boarders at night, sniffing and snorting at anything that moved. Some nights he'd bark out warnings to passing rogues or howl for no apparent reason at all. Li didn't like him...he was mean. Maua:5:19 pm Maua was bored. This was never, ever a good thing. In fact, it had proved to be a rather BAD thing countless times, at least for the health of anyone around her. As it was though, the young goddess had grown tired of the pride her adoptive mother had chosen to call 'temp home'. She was growing steadily, and needed less and less cares - she was pretty capable of holding her own, for she got along rather well with the gods of the darker spectrum, and mortals... were usually of no threat to someone that could easily mindrape them with a mere glance. Alas, simple and safe... was slowly becoming boring, and as such, she had grown more and more bold in her trips away from home. She was taken to teleporting a fair, long distance from her 'mother' and her sibs. She'd been drawn towards mortal souls, but stopped when she spotted a strange form in the near distance; it had to be a god. His form was ... odd to say the least, but it wasn't that what drew the young goddess forth and out of the illusion she usually wore around herself; no, it was something else. A strange pull of a feeling, a tug. Without even realising it, she'd padded forward till she was almost directly withing Li's personal space, "You feel interesting," she told him as she sniffled his form boldly, "Who are you?" a pause, and then smiling up to him, continue, "I think I'll keep you. I like you. You feel familiar."
Li Wei: 5:28 pm Li had his chin flat on the ground, his paws stretched out to either side. He might as well have been a throw rug disrupting the easy rise and fall of grass around him. His hair spread out like a downed flag, creating a blanket of gold weaving its way through the grass. His eyes gazed upwards as his mind settled itself. Finally...peace and quiet. No angry barking, no sparring, no drilling- none of it. It seemed silly that anyone would want -him- of all creatures to build up his strength...but on the other hand, he needed strength to run faster. In case- Something moved. He lifted his head then jerked back instantly. A creature- it had to have been a god -stood dangerously close. He'd not even heard anyone approach! She was sniffing him, then smiling. He didn't like that look. Not at all. It was the very same look a hungry lion offered a rabbit kit moments from- He urped again. Unable to control himself. Wait what? "Keep me?" He blinked and slowly, cautiously slid his paws under his belly. "...I..uh... thanks? I feel... like a fish. I'm told anyway. I'm... Li Wei... and you?"
Maua:5:41 pm "A fish?" her ears perked upward and she looked horribly amused as she regarded him, "Oh, hardly like a fish! Besides, I'm not talking about touchy feel. I'm talking about the way you make me feel - your feel. I like it," she sniffed at him again, but her mind couldn't quite place him. Then again, that was not entirely unusual, seeing as how she couldn't really recall her previous encarnations. Alas, despite that, the urge to play a little mind game with him was irresisteble. "Maua, of course!" she told him and then leaned in to nuzzle him like a little child would have a teddy bear, "I'm your girlfriend! Can't you remember? I didn't know you were around!" nevermind that this statement contradicted the fact she hadn't known him 2 minutes ago. Maybe he'd be naive enough that he wouldn't notice. He DID look rather naive after all... so she was hoping he'd play along. Her gaze left him for a moment to survey her surroundings; she could feel a pride nearby, but they weren't particularly dark in nature.
Li Wei: 5:59 pm He leaned back onto his haunches, curling his front paws against his chest as she leaned close to sniff him again. His scent wasn't by any means -normal-. Squall often said he smelled like he'd been tangled up in the flowers too long. It was a soothing sent, Li even enjoyed it a little bit, though it was somtimes a little over-dominating. He swallowed hard. Maua...should he know that name? He picked at the back of his mind, desperate to find even a shred of memory. How akward it would be to meet someone he'd already met before- and not remember. Of course, that was the story of his life. "GIRLFRIEND!?" he fell back completely, floored on his back with his hooves shooting up to put some distance between himself and 'girlfriend'. He couldn't kick- hurting someone was out of his nature- but his hind legs served as an excelent spacer between himself and her. The orb in his horn glowed pink, his equivilant of a blush as she tried to nuzzle him. "Gu-gu...I ... I don't have, I don't think I have... I mean I don't remember anything, I hit my head- then..." He brought his paws up to rub at his temples. Then fangs and claws and birds. Birds everywhere! The earth had been split apart. None of it made any sense. "I think you have the wrong lion. I'm just...a fish. I'm a fish."
Maua:6:06 pm Oh, this was horribly amusing to watch. Lo and behold! She was no longer bored! Which was good for her, but probably bad for the poor male god. A grin crept upon her maw as she watched him topple backwards, "Gosh, yes, silly. Of course I'm your girlfriend! I'm surprised you don't recognise me just from my scent! I sure recognise you! I'd be able to tell that scent and feeling apart from a thousand gods!" now to see if she could posibly milk the story even further. She hadn't even paused to ponder what his domain would be - surely one of the happier, more cheerful spectrum, what with the soothing aura he seemed to have, which even reached HER. His hoof stopped the nuzzle and she turned her icy blue eyes down to look at it. How odd... hooves, it was horribly interesting. Alas, she stopped her inspecting of it and shoot her gaze up at him as he spoke again, "You're surely not a fish, if you're a lion! Besides, no fish I know has a nose like this," and she leaned over again till her nose rested on his briefly - she was having a hard time reaching him with the way he flailed and tried to put a distance between them, but she was persistant, that was for sure, "Awwww, it's okay, baby. I remember enough for the both of us! I remember the feel of you against me at night, and your warmth! And your golden hair. I remember very little... but I remember YOU clearly! Surely you're not rejecting me based on the fact YOU can not remember, are you?" She made a show of lowering her ears and hunching her form up as patheticaly as she could, her long tail coming to wrap around her.
Li Wei: 6:14 pm Girlfriend!? He couldn't digest it. Not at all. 'Heve would kill him! He wasn't supposed to have a girlfriend yet! That was adult stuff- and this one was a CUB! His horn was perhaps half as long as it was supposed to be. His legs weren't long enough to carry him as quickly as he felt he should go. He certainly wasn't old enough to even consider taking a mate! What did mates do? Girlfriends? Was he supposed to ...cuddle? He laid himself flat, eyes wide as a gazelle moments from the end as she leaned closer, pressing her nose against his. The long, suspiciously mobile whiskers shot straight back, as if that would help him melt into the ground. Well he knew he wasn't a fish-the hope that the small white lie would work and she'd leave him be had died right then and there. The pink glowing continued, and brightened, as she described their 'relationship' further. He was about to begin clawing at the ground, perhaps pulling himself away in an attempt to escape but he froze. The heartbroken, pitiful tone of her voice and the defeated posture tightened his chest. "N...No I'm just... I don't...remember you?" He slowly sat himself up once more, nearly sitting on some of his own mane in the process. "D-don't take it personally, I don't even know my powers yet! ...You know...aside from my spell and this whole... 'feel good' thing." Squall had another word for it, but it wasn't very nice. He'd keep that to himself. "Don't be sad..."
Maua:6:26 pm Ooooohhh.... apparently it was working! That meant she should perhaps give this little drama an extra push and see where it went from there. She'd always been an adventurer and liked where this whole thing was going - she was happy to go with the flow and see where it took her! Specially given how interesting the situation at hand was, "But.... but...." she made sure to sniffle sadly up at him, her eyes watering with more ease than they probably had a damned right to - she was an actress at heart, "But, you mean the world to me! I don't think I can make it on another day knowing you're here and will not take up our promise! We promised we've be together forEVER and.... now you're going to leave me, abandon me! And break our promise filled with love!" It was at that point that she let out a heart-breaking sob, her form hunched up into a little ball, her tail curled around her as if to protect herself from the outside world, "Oh woe!" she called out, "Oh woe is me! I think I might die of heart break right this instant!" she placed the back of her paw against her forehead rather dramatically and fell over on the ground.
Li Wei: 6:32 pm He slowly stood himself up, ears dropping as if they'd lost all feeling in them and had turned into a pair of over-sized rags. The sight, and sound, was perhaps the most pitiful thing he'd seen in his life. Why he was feeling suddenly small and helpless was anyone's guess. He couldn't understand it himself. His eyes glazed over, perhaps in sympathy, perhaps from confusion- or a dangerous combonation of both. He'd never hurt anyone like this! Never! He'd always managed to make others happy, calm, and hopeful. Though he'd never been able to live up to their expectations... Now he wanted to cry. He'd failed someone else! He was a TERRIBLE god! "N-no it's not like that..." He slowly took a few steps forward, brow creasing as blue light fell over his face from the orb- perhaps the saddest, most grieved color in the world. His eyes went wide and he lunged forward, catching her with his front paws. It was a very unatural motion for a lion, and they both looked silly. Monkies line dancing would have looked more natural. He cleared his throat. "...you okay?"
Maua:6:47 pm She cracked an eye open juuuuust a bare tiny bit when she felt him catch (technically she'd been planing on playing dead on the ground, but she supossed this was much better). She closed her eye again before he noticed she'd peeked, "Oh... oooooooh.... my strength! Just the mere thought of abandonment... I think I might die. I will die of heart break!" she opened her eys lamely, watering and staring right up at him, "But you can save me! All I need is you!" and then she tried her best to swaaaaay them just so. She figured that they had ... very little balance what with the position they were in, and if she swayed them just a tad, he might fall over, landing them in an awkward, interesting position! After all, she could only keep up the drama act for so long; she wondered if he'd fall for it (literally speacking) or if he'd deny her regardless. She found herself hoping to dear god (pun not intended) that he'd fall for it, because he was quite honestly, horribly amusing and she wasn't yet ready to let go of him. Not yet, and posibly not for a very long time.

Li wei: 4:35 pm Li's ears fell like a pair of boneless rags to the side of his head as he listened, his eyes grew wider and even glazed over slightly. She'd die!? He'd broken her heart!? How? Was he really that bad? Or perhaps she was talking about his past life- maybe that's why he died! He needed to be punished for something....something horrible. An offer for salvation? But.... it seemed so out of place. He didn't understand any of it. His brows creased as he picked and pryed at every inch of his memory for even a scrap of reconition, and still nothing came. of course there were patches of his past lives that simply refused to resurface. Prying too hard often left him waking in the middle of the night to images of angry claws, roars, and birds picking at his face. He looked faint, and wobbled. Perhaps to her pleasant suprise, he did indeed topple over, nearly on top of her. He caught himself with his paws, leaving his mane to spill over her face. He swallowed hard and shook his head slowly. "I... I just... I'm sorry?"

Maua: (3:48:29 PM): In all truth... this was the first time Maua had ever seen this god. Or so she thought anyhow; after all, the young female couldn't recall her past lives, like many other gods could. She had knowledge that she'd been around for quite some time - quite a few many times, in fact, but she could not recall events, faces, or... anything that was important about said lives. Of course, Li didn't know that, and what the male didn't know, couldn't hurt him (or ruin her fun in the process anyhow!). That aside... there was something extremely pleasent about being in close proximity to this god, and she had no idea what it was or even why. She was merely going by instinct, and her instincts were telling her to cling on and not let him go for now. So thus... that's what she did. As they toppled over, she found herself smirking briefly, though it was hopefully concealed from view thanks to both his, and her hair convined. When she finally looked up at him, she conjured the most haunted expression she could and just stared up at him silently for a moment, "I need you..." she murmured lamely, even as she shook her head in an attempt to get a clearer look of him. Come what may... this was an extremely interesting situation at least!
Li Wei: (3:58:13 PM): Li slowly reached down to brush his mane clear from her face. The gesture, while innocent in intention, was a hopelessly intimate one that he realized, a little too late, might be taken the wrong way. His whiskers flared, the equivilant of a deeper blush, and in a swift movement he sat back off of her. Rubbing awkwardly at his forearm, he distracted himself by watching a small flock of birds fly overhead. Well that was increadibly clumsy and stupid of him... Her words sent a cold ripple down his back, thankfully, the scales were unable to hackle. The ridge of his tail, however, stood upright. "Y...you need me?!" He looked over, his eyes terribly confused and perhaps a little haunted. She needed him!? It was perhaps the first time in his current life that he'd heard the bold statement. No one needed him. Even 'heve didn't need him. "I...well....uh....", He swallowed hard and raised his paws up. "We...we don't even know eachother!"

Maua: (5:22:36 PM): Out of all the things she'd been expecting him to do, it wasn't for him to reach and help get his mane out of her face. True surpise showed through her mask, her head tilting to the side before she regained her bearings and watched him rush off her with mild amusement. At least... she wasn't going to be bored for a very, very long time, that was for sure. Specially since she's decided that she wanted to stick around and that it didn't quite matter WHERE he went. She was pretty sure she could have tracked down the his signature feel and power, and if she couldn't, well, she was sure she'd have been able to think something up. Maua never stopped to think about why this was apparently so important to her. It just felt like it was, for whatever reason, and she wasn't about to question it. As he turned to watch the flock of birds, she took the time to sit back up, brushing her sides off with her wings before concentrating her attention back on him. Just in time to see the most.... peculiar reaction to her earlier words. Idly, she watched as his tail pelt stood up on end and tilted her head; she could have understood it if he'd been affected by her aura power, but she knew full well that it did not affect gods, so she had no idea what was going through his head. Instead, she stood up and took a step forward so she could get a better look at him, "I do," it was probably a more sincere comment than she realised. She forced a mild frown to cover her features, "It doesn't mean I don't need you," and she still didn't quite understand why she was pushing this.
Li Wei: (6:04:55 PM): He slowly lowered his paw back to the ground, eyes still firmly averted. She couldn't need him...no one should. He couldn't always be there for them. He'd proved that time and again with his patron pride...for so long they'd thought he'd up and abandoned them. Perhaps he had....he wasn't sure what would drive him to death in his past life. They'd suffered for it...the two-legged beasts with sticks of thunder had driven them from their lands...so many had been hurt... So much blood... He shuddered again. "It's not...safe." He looked over to her and slowly rose up to all fours. "It's not safe to be around me. You shouldn't..."
She couldn't. She'd find someone else, someone safer... mate or no mate, it hadn't happened in this life. Whatever had happened before had ended with his death. He couldn't risk exposing anyone to the blazing eyes, the angry roars, and the hungry birds again. "I have to go."
Without further pretense, the god turned and bolted. The dust from the ground seemed to collect around his feet and hooves in large, puffy swirls. He leapt upwards, 'landing' on the cloud whips until he was skybound.
