Julie bounced on her claws excitedly, waiting at the window like it was Christmas eve and Santa was going to show up. In actuality, she'd invited her friend Imani over for the night. The other girl was going to have to bring along her new baby brother, but that was okay since he could play with Patton or Phineas or Cornelius.
The toddler girl's hair was up in little pigtails with her blinking lights (red and pink today) adorning them. She was wearing shorts and a sweater and all ready to play with Imani till the sun went down. Mommy had said it was okay, so now they just had to wait!

Imani was so excited, and so was Chase, and honestly so was R.J. Her kids first sleep over, it was a milestone in their little lives after all. R.J. was carrying the duffel full of the two's things. Imani was clinging to the one doll she was allowed to bring, she decided on a sock monkey named Ooks, and Chase was sporting his favorite thing, his paper crown. R.J. spotted the house that was addressed on the piece of paper she was holding, and told Imani to go and knock, which she ran up and did with great haste.

The house was simple and sort of behind Ixxie's tattoo parlor. Julie had spotted the group approaching and rushed to fling open the door for her friend. "IMANI!" she squealed, throwing her arms around her friend and grinning. This was going to be so awesome!
Her tall pink haired mother wandered over slowly and smiled at RJ. Though it was winter, she wore only a wife beater, khaki jeans and a light long sweater. "Hey there. I'm Ixxie. You're R.J. right?" the woman asked Imani's mother, never having actually met her. "And this is Chase?"

Imani clung to Julie, grinning like a madwoman. "Julie!" she countersquealed before starting to giggle as always.
R.J. nodded and smile. "Yes, I'm R.J. Thanks for having the kids over. It's all the two chatterboxes have been talking about since it was set up," she said with a laugh.
Chase adjusted his paper crown before holding his hand out to Ixxie. "Yup, I'm Chase! Nice'a'meetchya!" he said with a big old smile.

Julie grinned and bounced a bit. "Come ooooon! Let's go inside! We can get your stuff put away and then go plaaaay!" the toddler said with a happy squeak, dragging Imani into the house after her.
"Nice to meet both of you." Ixxie laughed, shaking Chase's hand. "I'm sure you'll get along just fine with the others. They're in the basement right now." she said, indicating the door the boy should head towards. "The stairs aren't steep and there's a light, so just be careful going down and you'll be fine."
The woman grinned at R.J. again, "Are you going to call when you're heading by to pick them up?"

Chase nodded and was off like a rocket towards the basement, clinging to his paper crown so that it would not get knocked off due to his breakneck speed, or breakneck for your average toddler. The only thing he said was a quick byemom before he turned a corner and started to trump down the stairs.
Imani smiled and let Julie go. "I'll get the bag from Mom," she said with a nod before turning around to her mother.
R.J. nodded at Ixxie. "Yeah, I'll give you a call when I'm heading your direction," she said before she gave the bag to Imani, amused with watching the toddler tug at the large bag along the ground. "You and your brother be good okay? I'll come and get you tomorrow," she said, giving a wave. Imani stopped what she was doing and grinned.
"Okay mom! See you tomorrow!"

Julie frowned a bit and rushed back to pick up the other end of the bag and drag it along with Imani. Mommy always said the bottoms would be ripped open if they let them drag on the ground too much. They carried it down the hall to her bedroom, which was rather large for a toddler but already fancily decorated.
There were two beds in this room, on either side against the wall, and the room was highly decorated. Both beds had big thick, colorful comforters and fluffy pillows, as well as assortments of stuffed animals of all shapes and sizes. Most of the animals had been handmade and several had the signs that the girls themselves had helped in them. There was one on Julie's bed that was brown and had a big white face with black eyes and long black yarn hair.
"I made this for you, Imani." she said, pulling the doll up and holding it out for her friend.
The two halves of the room were separated by long strings of beads and two almost see-through curtains, which Pogo was pulling back so they could sit at the little table in the middle for a tea party. It was a short table but square and made in the style of some tables from asian restaurants. Their mother had helped them make it, and as such, while it wasn't totally beautifully detailed, it wasn't dangerous.
On the walls of the bedroom were some oddities. Julie had a desk covered in stuff she collected - pebbles, stones, shells, shiny things, plugs, and whatnot. And on the wall was a collection of different spatulas, hanging up on a rack Cornelius had made for her (meaning it was lopsided and weird looking). However, on Pogo's side, there were lots of fabrics just hung up on the wall and a huge bulletin board where squares of fabric had been pinned. There was also a table with tons of different kinds of utensils, none of which were normal. There were miniature forks, knives and spoons, fancy chopsticks, and other oddities, but no full sized normal industrial utensils.
Julie grinned. "How do you like our room?" she asked, bouncing on her clawed feet a bit.
Downstairs, the boy found a rather extensive and well treated basement. It had a few carpets and a couch in one area with a small Tv - purchased after Julie's arrival as the tot had taken a liking to watching animated movies. There was also a small area with a lab table to one corner, where Patton had set up two colanders and was trying to build something with them and a box. There was another work table nearby with an abandoned project on it, probably from Cornelius.
The main attraction was in the middle of the room. There was another carpet and several cushy beanbag chairs laid out. Phineas had set up a little table in the middle and there was newspaper covering it. He and Cornelius were painting what looked like little grey miniatures.
"Hi there!" the eldest child called, waving a hand at Chase to indicate the boy should join them.

Imani looked in awe and wonder at the room. It was so bright and colorful and...different, but in a good way in her own opinion. Her room at home was smaller than this one, and it got even smaller with Chase being there too, but she adored Chase and therefore really didn't care.
Imani squealed with delight as she took the doll that Julie handed to her, snuggling it to her tightly. "It's so nifty! Thanks Julie!" she chirped, pulling her friend into a tight hug for a moment before going back to look at the room again.
"Your room is so neat!" she said, before gathering up her sock monkey again, now holding her newest doll and that one, she moved over to Julie's bed and sat the dolls on it.
"I need to try the doll out real quick," she said with a smile to Julie before she turned back and gave a quick wiggle of her fingers, which technically isn't needed but it helped Imani concentrate. Ooks started moving first, standing up and stretching before holding out his hand to the newest doll, who, after a bit of twitching, took the extended arm and was helped to stand. They then twirled a bit on the bed a bit.
"Yay, she moves great! Thanks again Julie!"
Chase peered around before grinning and walking over to the boys in the middle of the room downstairs.
"Hiya there!" he said with a grin, but then it was replaced with contemplation. "Whatcha doin'?" he asked with a tilt of his head.

"Ooooooohhhhhhhh!" That had been neat! "I didn't know you could do that!" Julie said, eyes wide as she clapped her hands.
Pogo stared and clapped too, "Wooooow, you have powers too! Me 'n' 'lie have some toooooooooooooooo! Wanna see?" she asked, her wings fluttering.
"We're painting miniatures." Phineas explained, showing the boy one of them - a large fancy wizard. "We're going to use them for the game we're gonna play. Do you want to paint some too?"
Cornelius grinned, showing Chase his figure too, which was a little pudgy monk.

"Well, I didn't have a doll with me the other times we've seen each other," she said, blushing a bit before looking at Julie and Pogo with a grin.
"Sure! I wanna see!" she said, clasping her own hands together. Seeing as she didn't make the dolls stop, they mimicked her, sitting down on the bed and pressing their 'hands' together to watch.
Chase looked at the figures that were shown to him with wonder. "Sounds like fun!" he said with a grin before tilting his head. "What kinda game? Do you battle them or somethin'?" he asked.

Julie grinned. "I'll go first." she said proudly, walking over to a wall they'd set up. It had looked just like a wall of Christmas Lights, glowy plasma balls and stuff like that, but it'd all been turned off. Pogo rushed over to close the curtains on Julie's window and turn off the light, leaving it a bit darker so the light would show up.
The toddler put her hands on each item, causing it to light up and be powered as she went from item to item. THe glows vanished when her touch left, but she could make them all blink on and off. Finally, for a finale, she touched a power strip to make them all go on at once.
Phineas nodded. "Yep. We move them along and play a story with them. Patton's been painting some of the monsters too. Wanna help with that or do you wanna paint your own guy?"

Imani giggled and watched the light show of sorts with amazement. Once it was over, she smiled and clapped.
"Yay! That was so nifty!" she said with a laugh, then looked at Pogo, eyes ever curious. "And you Pogo?" she inquired.
Chase thought for a moment, then looked and Phineas. "Could I look at some guys and monsters and then pick one? I can't deside right now..." he said, placing his crown aside so he wouldn't get paint on it.

"THanks!" Julie giggled, going to sit with her friend on the bed as Pogo let the lights back in.
"This is what I can do!" the other girl laughed, holding both of her arms straight out in front of her. She put her left hand on her right and pulled it off, before moving the detached right hand to pull off the left and switch them. The toddler then reached up her backwards hands and unscrewed her head, removing it. As she did this, one would notice that the stumps were just rainbow and furred like the rest of her and weren't bloody or gross. "TADA!" Pogo shouted, from her own backwards hands.
"Sure." Cornelius agreed, holding out the box with the primed regular figures. "Patton's got the monsters over there." the owlbear explained.

Imani made a small 'eep' sound, though the shock didn't last long, as laughter once again over took Imani's throat. She stood up and looked at Pogo, curious.
"So, are you like a living doll or sumthin?" she asked, halfway wondering if her own power would work on Pogo. Not like she'd try without asking.
Chase peered at the figures that where presented to him, rifling through them when one caught his eye, a knight of sorts, or so it looked like to him.
"Can I paint this one?" he asked, showing it to the two boys.

"Sorta!" Pogo laughed, putting her head back on. "Dunno what I am really but I came from a big mannequin."
Julie grinned. "Hey Imani, wanna have a tea party?" she asked, bouncing a bit. "Or wanna make stuff? Or play out back?"
"Sure. It's got the gray stuff on it, so it's primed." Phineas assured him.
"Yeah. Want me to show you how to paint it?" Cornelius asked with a grin.
