"Hey! Hey big brother! When are you going to teach me how to hunt?"

Aang gave a small smile at the enthusiam on Badai's face, before shifting to playfully cuff his adoptive younger brother's cheek. Of course, it wasn't long until the young leotah recovered from the small tumble and was eagerly at his heels again. He could see why Eupe had named him Hurricane, of all things.

"Not until you're an apprentice, Badai. Now go play with your sister. I need to scout ahead for a bit," Aang said lightly, trying to ignore the obvious disappointment on the other's face. He loved playing with the leotah, but sometimes being the Avatar meant he couldn't. It was a small sacrifice to rebuild his lands, and one he was sure his 'brother' would understand when he was older. But even so it wasn't long before the juvenile was running back over to his siblings, and for a moment Aang merely watched as the three scuffled in the dust. It made him miss being a father... Maybe he should talk to Maluuni about having another litter soon?

He shook his head quickly, scattering his thoughts before turning to lope ahead of the small group of Air Nomads. It was rare that there were any dangers in their paths as they traveled, but better safe than sorry.

He had no idea where he was... of all the jobs given to all the gods, why did -he- have to travel? At any time back home, he felt restless, like his hooves were on fire and just sitting might set his entire body ablaze. He knew, by instinct, what he was supposed to do. He was to travel, seek out rulers and their clans- but that didn't help his still muddled sense of direction.

He walked in his god form, perhaps not the wisest move he could make, but in an emergency, he could bolt in the blink of an eye. Squall didn't like him going out on his own. When the lion found out he'd kill him. Or sit on him. Which was worse he wasn't sure.

"Ooh....man..." He looked around slowly, tossing his long blonde hair away from his face as he finally came to a stop. He didn't know this place.. maybe he'd taken a wrong turn.

Of course, it wasn't long before Aang had wandered far enough ahead to spot the young God in the distance. And he was quick to recognize the figure for what he was. He was no fool after all, and it certainly helped that he'd traveled for a long while with a god in his youth. Sometimes he wondered if he'd ever see Kimbilio again, but it wasn't like the other didn't know where to find him. He was fairly certain he'd told the other all about his lands and how he'd definitely return to them someday.

But now wasn't the time to think about that. He had a duty to do as the Avatar. He did his best to look friendly as he approached Li Wei, lowering his head slightly in deference to the God.

"Can I help you with anything? You look lost," Aang said as soon as he was close enough, ears pricked forward in curiosity.

Li jumped and cursed himself for allowing his mind to wander off. The cheetah seemed peaceful enough, but if his luck was any worse, he could have been attacked right then and there.

He dropped his ears and looked around himself. Was it really that obvious? He cleared his throat, straightened himself up, and offered a dip of his head in greeting. His presence was almost overwhelmingly comforting. Wave after wave of calm radiated off his form along with the strangely powerful smell of sandalwood, a fine, musky scent that would put the physical senses at ease.

"A little... I'm... I'm supposed to be making myself familiar with territories and all that. Uh..." He cleared his throat. "Where...have I gotten myself?"

It really didn't take much to calm Aang anymore than he was already, but the heavy scent that clung to the God in front of him dig ease the tension in his shoulders. The last time he remembered being this calm was a long time ago, before he'd returned and stepped up as the Avatar... It was nice.

"You're in the Arba'Sehemu. I'm Aang," he replied, nodding his head in return and sitting down before the other. "You're welcome to stay here as long as you wish, or I could point you towards the nearest border if you'd prefer."

"Oh..." He reached up to rub the side of his head. Nightmares still lingered over him from his past life. His final moments had been as terrible as they'd been chaotic. Claws, the sound of angry roars and eager, hungry birds had filled the air. The earth had split in two and shook all around him. Much of his memories had been rattled between the trauma of death and rebirth- but the territory didn't ring -any- bells. Not even a small one.

"I must not have been here before!" He laughed and shrugged his shoulders. "Oh I don't stay for too long. I just need to know where it is." His powers weren't ready yet, he knew what he had to do, but how to do it was another matter entirely. However, instinct had driven him to seek out territories. "I can use some water though, and maybe some gra...er....something to eat."

"That isn't exactly surprising. Our territory is fairly out of the way, and we don't have any bordering prides," Aang replied, laughing lightly and calmly getting back to his paws. He was perceptive enough to pick up on Li Wei's slip, and knew the perfect spot to lead the god to. "If you'll follow me, I can show you a great place. There are some rather tasty herbs there if you know where to look for them, and a small spring."

"Oh both sound fantastic." He sighed and tossed back his mane. After a few steps towards the cheetah he froze, a look of dawning in his eyes. "Oh..."

He glanced down, noted the golden scales on his toes, then looked back up. "You're not....afraid? Or...anything? You know what I am? Should I hide? I have a mortal form."

"Not at all. I've traveled with a god before, although he was much different than you," Aang replied, laughing softly and turning to give Li Wei a reassuring smile. "Gods are welcome in these lands, and are always to be treated with respect, whether the members of the clans worship them or not."

"I forget sometimes." He tossed his mane back away from his eyes. Before the blonde fur could settle back along his shoulders his form had shifted into that of a common dust-colored lion. There was nothing really spectacular about him, nothing out of place save for the length of his mane and the fact that it didn't grow all the way around his neck. "There. All normal. Oh!"

He cleared his throat again and flattened his ears in embarrassment. "I'm Li Wei. In this form just call me Levhi. It's...dangerous. That's all."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Li Wei," Aang said, nodding his head respectfully before turning to trot forward once more. "But I doubt you'd find much danger in these lands. Not these days. I think the most you're in danger of is being pounced by a wayward cub."
PostPosted: Fri Feb 19, 2010 10:14 pm

"You'd be suprised the kind of trouble I find myself in sometimes..." He trailed after the cheetah, picking up the pace a little to match the creature's longer strides. "Sometimes even from cubs."

"I'm sure I can imagine. I used to attract qutie a bit of trouble myself when I was younger," Aang replied, smiling fondly at the memories even as he spied the location he'd been talking about not far in the distance. "And I think the little ones in this area wouldn't be too bad. The most you'd need to look out for is making sure they didn't tangle that mane of yours!"

Li chuckled. "I don't doubt it. It seems war and conflict have had their way with the world for quite some time now." He shook his head sadly. "I cannot understand it myself... it seems unnecessary. So much sadness, so much strife."

"My home was not immune to it either. For a long time, I couldn't live here because there were those who wished to either kill or imprison me in some way," Aang said softly, taking a deep breath and willing away the dark thoughts that tried to drift in. "But that's all gone now. The war is over, and I'm going to do my best to mend the relationships between the clans. I want my cubs and my brothers and sisters to know peace for as long as they live."
