everyday [[if life and work allows me too]] i will post a quote and a question on here. Then you tell me what you think of it, and try to answer the question. try not to use the internet to help you solve, however, if you had no clue, then reserch it, but put your answer in bold, so I know you used the internet. Each week, the person who has the most points has bragging rights. BOLD answers get 1/2 points, where regular answers get 1 point.

I don't know a thing about the subject of the question, however I would like to say what I think of the quote. I think that this quote is a very good one that really shows that even when you think things are bad, they could be a lot worse. This is a concept that I don't think a lot of people really understand. I think that because of the things that certain people choose to complain about, "I got homework in every subject!" "My cell got taken away.." on and on. Somewhere somebody has to deal with things that are really horrible or life threatening, some people don't have homes or a job. Some families don't have enough money for food or school supplies. Some people have illnesses, but not health care. Some have terminal illnesses which are in a whole different ballpark. Yet people complain about losing something that was a privilege in the first place, when some people don't have the necessities?
Ack, well there's my rant of the day.

Ack, well there's my rant of the day. amen to that sister. Another thing that the qoute bring to mind for me is this. You hear alot of teenage kids complaining about how they hate that their parents are so strict or don't let them do anything. Well in some homes kids are getting neglected by their parents or abused by their parents and some children don't even have parents. At least you have parents that care for your safety and love you. You would stop taking your parents for granted if you met one orphan or one abused child.

Towards Bella: That is a very good point as well, a lot of people take some really great things in life for granted. Another thing about teens disliking their parents is that in many cases the kid is not a well behaved one. They get mouthy, don't do what their parents ask, let grades slip, act outrageously, or do things that are illegal. Then they complain that their parents get angry with them.
I am a person who always goes by the rules, I follow everything down to speed limits, always. I do everything that my parents ask of me, and I make good grades, I help out my family when it is needed, and I try to be a productive member of my family. My relationship with my parents is a great one due to my attitude. If teens were more agreeable, or willing to evaluate why they get into trouble they may not dislike their parents so much.
(Maybe we should make a thread for this kind of talking? Haha. That way we don't take away from Jack's quote and question.)

He said we could talk about what the quote meant to us. And i totally agree with you. I used to listen to my friends at school whine about how their parents wouldn't let them go to a party and i would be like well at least they aren't hitting your face into a wall becasue your late or because you didn't do your chores the way they wanted them done. You have it good and the worlds not going to end just because you can't go to some party. Many complain that they don't have money to buy the newest clothes while some out there have no money what so ever and get their clothes from donations and other places like that.

That is very true. Here very soon I am going to go through my closet and give a bunch of my stuff to churches or something. I have smaller clothes that I'd love to fit back in, but realistically I never will. I think that it would be best to give them to a church so that someone will be given them.
I would try Goodwill or The Salvation Army, but I don't want people to pay for clothes that I don't want anymore. I'd rather give them to someone who needs them.

as much as i love this quote, i got to move on with another question and quote.
To Bellawannabecullen12888: You got the time era, and place right. However, I think it was 21 people, not seven. I could be wrong. It started with Al capone and his men dressed up as cops, and pulled over a couple of gang memebers. they were thier rivials, and they were the major competitor for bootlegging, which was illeagal home made beer, that they sold to the public. so they were cops, the lined them up, and shot them. right behind thier backs. so i will give you a 1/2 point. congrates.

Actually it was 7 people who were murdered 5 of them were from the North Side Gang and then two non members as well. They were lined up against a wall and shot.

I know that at first February didn't exist. Then when they looked at the moon phases they realized it didn't match up with the solar year so they had to adjust the calendar.

From what i was told. Back in the day their used to be only 10 months. But when Ceaser and Augustus ruled they each wanted a month of thier own (July and August) so days were taken out of the months and made two new months Augustus wanted his month to last longer than Ceasers so August is 31 days while July is 30. September October November and December used to be months 7,8,9,10 until July and Ausgust were added which then the calendar was converted to a twelve month calendar and becasue off them taking days from other months February ended up with less days than all the other months.
This may or may not be all right but this is what i was taught.
