User Image It was a quiet evening amongst the forest of Telk. Spring had started to emerge in numerous ways. The ground was drying up, buds grew on the trees, and birds had started returning to their nests. A lone wold enjoyed the serene landscape, happy to be by herself, for once. This elder wolf, known as Lera. Walked slowly along the soft earthy ground, down an untrodden path. This opened up onto a small pond, where the female laid to rest under an equally old willow. Her aging bones ached as she curled up amongst the roots of the tree. Lera was happy to be alone for once, as the forest had become busy in recent years, but still her mind remained clouded. She had yet to find inner peace.

The seer, as her title was given, peered around her. She could hear a deer's thoughts from across the water, birds chatted amongst the branches, and squirrels argued in the distance. Yet this wolf had many titles bestowed upon her, some not so nice. But that's the way life went, isn't it? Lera had become bitter as she had gotten older. Her children had grown, and most were disappointments. Especially her grandson, North, whom she had tried to pass along her knowledge to. He was her most recent failure.

She sighed, and let her mind be at ease, for now. She did not fear the woods or any of its inhabitants. She only found calmness. After all, the calm forest helped delude her memories, which she had the curse of never forgetting.

(sorry its short, just something to get us going smile I didn't want to give anything away in the first post that Lera could teach him smile )

Ooooow . . . Several weeks of healing it might have been, but the teen's horrid scars still prickled at times with claws of pain dug into his skin. Worst were those about his left eye and neck, both of which had revealed the most bare skin and remained to this day the most restrictve of the line of jagged wounds leading down to his shoulder. The lynx had surely done a number on him, and he was lucky enough to be alive thanks to Elaine.

When these pangs of pain grew worse, Adam liked to entertain himself with different thoughts to keep his mind off of it. Sometimes he'd try out seeing through various creature's minds, a habit that was quickly becoming enjoyable and dizzying at the same time. Or, if he truly was alone, he'd think of Mordariel and her funny little nuzzle-lick before they had parted, or of Arina the not-queen whom he had promised to see again. But would she want to see him disfigured so? Eh . . . There was also Kalama he had to worry about, helping her rebuild her pack. Ack, what was he to do? His powers weren't progressing as much as he liked . . .

The adolescent huffed a sigh and cast his awareness out again, skipping past several jays building a nest some distance away - hmm? his conscience hit upon a strangely aged mind, a presence whose feel was . . . well, Adam wasn't quite sure how to escribe it. There was time and experience beneath, like the tip of an iceburg that belied the huge iceburg below the water and, curious, he attempted to dig further into this awareness. Ever did curiosity compell him before logical thought did; but such was his young age prone to do.

|~| Gotcha~ Adam retains some scars from his encounter with a lynx, most on his left side stretching from around his left eye down to his chest and shoulder. |~|
