
The seer, as her title was given, peered around her. She could hear a deer's thoughts from across the water, birds chatted amongst the branches, and squirrels argued in the distance. Yet this wolf had many titles bestowed upon her, some not so nice. But that's the way life went, isn't it? Lera had become bitter as she had gotten older. Her children had grown, and most were disappointments. Especially her grandson, North, whom she had tried to pass along her knowledge to. He was her most recent failure.
She sighed, and let her mind be at ease, for now. She did not fear the woods or any of its inhabitants. She only found calmness. After all, the calm forest helped delude her memories, which she had the curse of never forgetting.
