lol, I got into mecha after watching tengen toppa guren lagann. its freakin awesome, Kamina pwns even Chuck Norris!
I also watched neon genesis evangelion. I got a bit lost at the last few episodes...
I need to see guren lagann. Neon genesis starts out as a simple plot that is child friendly but changes into this mature super existential, philosphical deal closer to the end. In fact reality itself is destroyed if you see the final movie. What remains are mismatched chaotic elements to create a new world where only two humans survive. It may take a few viewing to toatally get it
xp Full Metal Panic is a pretty decent mech anime worth trying.
