Great. The current girl for the week quit and left him. It couldn't get any worse. Well, not until someone actually stole his muggle car right on the evaluation day. And he's gonne be late. Sirius booked it and apparated into the Leaky Cauldron, giving a slight wave to Tom the bartender, then running for the fireplace to floo to the Ministry.
His house didn't have its own fireplace, since that's what he could only afford through his uncle's wages and the continuous refusal of taking some of James' money. He just got a muggle car for the heck of it. He arrived in his part-time job in the Auror department, and evaluation was already commencing.
Sirius ran to check in with the current boss.
The Head Auror was a bit on the scraggly side. His hair fuzzed out, a magical eye attached to his right eye and he was writing furiously on a piece of paper.
His magical eyes swerved over to look at Sirius and the man spoke in a gruffy tone, "You're late, again. And the fourth time this week." Sirius sighed and nodded. He shouldn't slack off next time, especially when he's a full-time auror.
"Sorry, sir. Had a bad day. You know, with young love," he explained poorly with some exaggerated motions of his hands.
Moody released a grunt, stating, "Constant vigilance." And that was it.
Sirius rolled his eyes and went out, not before hearing the Head Auror calling out, "I saw that." He chuckled and shook his head, ready for the day.
I'm fine with it...
He quit the job and went out the next week. Sirius figured that he could do for a break, a slacker that he was. And he would go out to look for a new girl to get, even the one right for him. He could get lucky, for all he knew.
Those material things won't be able to stop him from perusing a girl. He wanted to know if the girl was the one made for him. Yes, contrary to popular belief, he did go after girls to see if they're the one for him.
Surprised? As he expected. But he couldn't blame you, he did always kicked up his charm after all.
Cause I'm over it...
Nothing like a nice bar to hang in with your best friends. And some ladies to pick up, too. This should be easy, as they're in a muggle bar. It had the ordinary look for a muggle bar, with mahogany shelves behind the marble bar counter. It was a lazy day so the party lights weren't on and a small number of muggles were in the vicinity.
Instead the only lights that are on were the dim lights on each corner of the wide rectangular place, the ones on the bar shelves beneath each cabinets and the ones under the marble bar counter.
Millions of wine, beer and booze lined up the shelves as the Marauders chatted to theior heart's content, squeezing in a sip here and there.
"So, got a Valentine for V-Day?" asked James from beside him, sipping his drink while giving a wink at the group of girls nearby, making them giggle.
Sirius shook his head with a smirk on his face, then replying, "Easy for you to say now. You got Red already! We used to race for a Valentine." He reminisced lightly, thinking of the escapades they made during the last six years of friendship and booze.
From the other side of him, Remus choked slightly on his drink before looking over and saying with a cough, "And remember what happened to Wormtail the last time?"
They all snickered in earnest. Sirius glanced around to find several girls looking over, giving them his charming smile. He could see that they're already feeling like puddle on the floor. Too easy.
"Where IS Wormtail, Moony?"
Remus looked up and answered, "He said he got a job and wanted to apply." He nonchalantly shrugged, then heard the dreaded question.
"Do YOU have a Valentine, Moony?" Sirius grinned as he saw the shade of pink on Remus' face. He leaned over and whispered to his ear, "What about me? Wanna go?"
Remus shuddered and leaned back, "Not cool, man. Very not cool." As Remus reduced to an embarassed heap, the two friends laughed out their lungs when Remus' muggle wristwatch beeped.
The werewolf quickly looked down unto it and gasped, turning to them. "Ah, I gotta go! See you in Hogwarts!" And off he went.
The remaining blokes shook their head and James stood next, stating, "I got to go, too. I have a flower to visit." He had this dreamy eyes when he talked while sauntering to the bar's door and out of sight.
Leaving Sirius in the relatively quiet place.
Shaking his head from the oncoming lone feeling, he ordered another drink and chugged it down heartily, slamming it firmly on the counter and rubbing his forehead as if rubbing off that damned feeling.
"You all right?"
He looked up and set his eyes to the resident bartender. She had a pretty face, almond brown eyes, delicate nose and pouty lips with high cheekbones. Sirius sly looked down on her attire and found it quite appealing; with a black tanktop and jeans. Simple, yet appealing. Her dark hair was down, framing her face.
Sirius put up his charms and smiled charmingly at the girl, "Now that you're here."
He expected the girl to melt like a puddle, smile back sweetly or flirt back, but instead he got a chiming laugh on his ears as the girl wiped the bar counter. "Nice one, but overused." She had this amused glint in her brown orbs.
A small curl went up his lips, reaching his ears while Sirius looked at her, "Well, couldn't hurt to try."
The girl shook her head and asked, "Shouldn't a guy as charming as you out there for a Valentine?"
Sirius smiled at that, leaning in for another flirt attack on the bartender, "You think me charming?" The girl giggled back heartily.
She had a sweet laugh and voice, pleasant to his ears, especially to his enhanced sense for being a dog animagus, illegally. "No, seriously."
Once again, Sirius was tempted to make a joke on that statement but he resisted himself, choosing to answer her instead, "Not really. Waiting for the right one, y'know?" He didn't expected her to nod her head in agreement with an understanding gaze.
"It could be anyone. Out there..." she trailed off, her eyes casting down shyly as she added, "In here..."
Sirius' eyes widened as he felt a slight tug on his heart as he finally looked into her eyes. He grinned and tilted his head to the side, having an idea for the night.
Whoever she is, whoever she may be
