Shunk.
The freshly-sharpened knife slid easily through the pear, hitting the cutting board with a solid sound.
He reached for the next fruit, placing it carefully onto the wooden slab and slicing it into even halves. A pair of pears. The sound of it in his mind made him smile. "How lovely..." he mused, slicing again.
Shunk.
"Two sets of twins."
Shunk.
"Hm...in light green blouses and white shorts? Yes, that would be perfect..." He could see it in his mind. Small children, slightly plump, holding hands in their pear-colored outfits.
Shunk.
"Human pairs of pears...just like the fruit. Delicious."
Shunk.

Yup...I dunno, this kind of stuff leaves the uneasy feeling in my mind more than straight up gore and stuff.
Guess it's the suspense?
On another totally unrelated note, I'm descended rom a tribe of headhunting cannibals. No worries, I only consume other species.

It's interesting enough, though I fear almost nothing that is meant to frighten.Add more detail.

Yeah, eerie was what I was going for^^.
It's not supposed to be fully "scary"...just a little mild precursor. Something that makes you grimace a little, maybe shiver, thinking about the scenes to come.

Well a story about a cannibal doesn't really make me shiver, but it does make me interested. The reaso for that would be,I read the Hannibal Lecter series and laugh at the content.

While, I agree that it is very unsettling and disturbing, I wish there was more narrative. It's very scenario-driven, which is fine, but in the long run (which there really needs to be) character, character, character.
That said, it's quite icky. Which I like.
EDIT: I guess it's the onomatopoeia, but I really could imagine this as a series of comic panels.
