It had been long and strenuous, and his jaws and muscles ached, but finally Domevlo had brought them their murderer. Through the swamps he had dragged the unconscious body of Mysmyr. It had been no easy task subduing the monster, and neither of them had gone unscathed. In the end however it was Domevlo, who had sworn to capture the terror of the swamps, to reign him in. It was as much to protect the pride as it was to clear his own name. He'd show them the true face of a murderer.

Finally at the heart of the land where the lands was like an island in the swamps, Domevlo dropped Mysmy, and called for Nari their king.

"Nari..Narindima'moyo," Domevlo began, damaged voice reaching it's loudest, "I have found our murderer!"

Narindima'moyo, who was in fact not quite 'home,' started awake at the sound of Domevlo's distinctive voice, sending his napping son rolling when he jerked his head up. He hadn't even caught what was said, aside from his name, but it was clear something was wrong. He left Pili to soothe the startled juvenile, and bounded in Domevlo's direction. Had someone else been killed? It was all he could think of.

His consort, in turn, left the children to Nari's sister. She'd heard all of what was said, and was quick to call after him, force him to stop and compose himself. She all but hit him upside his maned head, reminding him that he was a king, and jumping in wild-eyed and confused would do nothing for his image. Not that that was what truly mattered, or should, but Pili knew better than he that it did. His heart was in his pride, but that wasn't always enough; it had become her job to help him with the rest.

Though it took her only a matter of moments, Nari snarled irritably at the once-goddess...but listened. Though he quickly resumed his sprint, there was less panic and more control.

...but no less surprised when he saw the large lion standing over Mysmyr. The pale, pink-maned newcomer was not the sort he pictured when he thought 'murderer.' He was a father! He had a family! But if Domevlo said it was so, then it was so. Regardless of his appearance, Nari had never doubted him.

"Domevlo! What's happened?"

Piliroho came behind him, stopping at his side. She said nothing, but looked contemptuously over the unconscious lion. Of course. Of course it had been one of the rogues! Her thoughts, too, quickly lept to the fact that he had children, though for reasons different from Nari's. Hers were of the future - what would they do with them?

Even if none of them were like Mysmyr, the swamp would soon be an unpleasant place for them...

"I was headed back this way from my searching-" for Nari and many others knew after being accused himself, Domevlo had made it his priority to catch the murderous beast that had plagued his beloved home, "-When I came upon the wounded Unus. Before I knew it Mysmyr was upon him." Domevlo heaved a sorrowful sigh as his eyes lay upon the unconscious Mysmyr, then looked back to Nari, "I am afraid we've lost Unus."

A number of 'if only's came to his mind, but right now the situation was thus:
Unus was dead, and Mysmyr was a murderer.

Unus. Ukosa's mate. It was, to be perfectly honest, not surprising, as the lion had...lost his grip somewhat after the death of his mate, and become obsessed with searching for the murderer - and had been less equipped to do so than Domevlo. Not that Nari had entirely approved of Domevlo or anyone else doing so, or could have stopped them. Which, it seemed, was just as well...in some respects.

But all the hows and the whys and everything else could wait for later. Now that they knew, now that they had him, Mysmyr would be dealt with, and dealt with publically. As satisfying as it would have been to deal with him now. The king bowed his head in gratitude, trying not to focus on the unconscious murder.

"Thank you, my friend." His mother would be pleased; she'd always been fond of Domevlo. Perhaps she'd known, to some extent?

"Pili." Nari turned his head to address his consort. "Find everyone, bring them all here. It's time for this to end."

"Of course." The lioness half-bowed, sparing one last glance at Mysmyr...for the moment. She'd see him again soon - everyone would. And she'd make sure it was everyone. She would miss no one when she gathered the pride, young included. Even Mysmyr's.

Piliroho dashed off, already beginning to call.

Indeed, it would have been pointless to have tried to stop Domevlo from searching. Especially after he himself had been accused. It had broiled up all the past bitterness within his heart, for once he had been the very thing they claimed. So long ago now it seemed... But Domevlo had killed out of revenge and heartache. Mysmyr...
The thought brought a shudder to the large lion, or maybe that was the quiver of his shoulders. By now the wounds were crusted over with dry blood. New scars would form over old. These, however, he would not look on in shame.

Upon Nari's thanks Domevlo gave a deep nod, and stepped back as if to give Nari and the unconscious Mysmyr room to be center stage. Domevlo kept a careful eye on the motionless form, as if suspecting that the owner was lying in wait for the opportunity to bamboozle them and attack. Domevlo allowed himself to sit, if only to take the weight off of his wounds.

Nari had been in too much of a flurry before to notice that Domevlo was injured, but now that he had a moment, it was hard not to notice. They didn't look to be anywhere particularly worrying - and the large lion had obviously endured injury before - but there was no reason to ignore them, especially given how they'd been acquired. "You're wounded. Will you be alright?"

His experience with injuries was...limited, to say the least, but it gave him something else to think about. He'd never been very comfortable with the public speech aspect of his duties.

"I shall be fine," Domelvo replied.

He probably should have seen to getting them properly cleaned, seeing as swamp water probably wasn't the best thing to have had contact with, but he wanted to so things carried out with his own eyes first.
